Chapter 1: Ch 1 Prologue: Cross roads of Destiny I
Hello Guys, it's Dave, and Im back again with another project. Yeah, I know I've been away for a while, and my absence has caused me to lose interest in a lot of my old books. But bear with me a little.
I've had two surgeries in the span of a year and half, and trust me guys, being hospitalized for so long did more harm than good to my mental health
But aside that, this is a project I started about a month ago, and I'm already quite a few chapters in.
The funny thing is, I decided to resume posting about a week ago, however I entered Webnovel only to find that there's another author with the same idea who has already began posting chapters.
I planned to delete everything and start with a new idea, but then, I decided against it. After all, I've put a lot of work into this, and my dad always says too much meat does not ruin a meal.
So anyway, shoutout to LORD_INDRA. I respect you a lot as a fellow author, and I'm in no way plagiarizing your work, but I can't throw away everything after working so hard.
Enjoy the chapter as always, and lemme know what you guys think in the comments.

September 2021...
New York City...
The city of Manhattan never slept. By day, it was a mosaic of ambition and hustle, a metropolis fueled by dreams and determination.
But it was under the cloak of night that the city revealed its true essence. Here, in the heart of New York City, shadows stretched long and secrets run deep, interwoven with the rhythm of a million lives colliding, intertwining, and diverging.
On this particular evening, the night sky over the city was an expanse of deep blue velvet, punctuated by the brilliant lights of the city's iconic skyline.
The usual hum of nightlife was punctuated by a sense of impending action.
The raid had been months in the making, a meticulously planned operation that would unfold with the precision of a military assault. High above the bustling streets, a helicopter hovered, its searchlight slicing through the darkness, casting an eerie glow on the scene below.
The rhythmic thrum of its rotors filled the air, a constant reminder of the high-stakes operation about to unfold.
On the ground, a convoy of black, armored vehicles screeched to a halt in front of an unassuming warehouse in the Meatpacking District.
The buildings around it, typically quiet at this hour, were suddenly alive with activity. SWAT teams poured out of the vans, their figures silhouetted against the glaring headlights. Clad in black tactical gear, helmets, and night-vision goggles, they moved with practiced precision, weapons at the ready.
"Go, go, go!"
The command crackled through their earpieces as they fanned out, taking positions around the building. Red and blue lights from police cars painted the scene in urgent, pulsating hues.
Officers shouted commands, their voices, a chorus of authority amidst the city's ambient noise. In a nearby alley, undercover agents watched from the shadows, their eyes trained on the warehouse's entrances.
The scent of rain-soaked pavement mingled with the acrid smell of exhaust, creating a sensory tapestry of the city at night. Pedestrians, drawn by the commotion, gathered at a safe distance, their faces illuminated by the glow of their smartphones as they recorded the unfolding spectacle. Inside the warehouse, the atmosphere was electric with tension.
The suspects, a notorious crime syndicate, headed by the Mafia in collaboration with the local street gang, were caught off guard but not unprepared. Shouts and the clatter of hurried footsteps echoed through the cavernous space as they scrambled to react. The flashbang grenades exploded with blinding light and deafening noise, stunning everyone inside and marking the raid's commencement.
Doors were kicked open, splintering wood and shattering glass adding to the cacophony. The tactical team surged forward, their movements a symphony of discipline and aggression. Shadows danced on the walls, distorted by the strobe of police lights.
"Down! Get down!"
The commands were sharp, unyielding, as suspects were forcibly subdued, their protests drowned out by the roar of the raid. A gunshot rang out, sharp and loud, a stark reminder of the danger that hung in the air. The team responded instantly, returning fire with calculated precision.
Specks of whitish powder soared through the air, blinding sights, representative of the assortment of drugs being smuggled . The exchange was brief but intense, a flurry of motion and noise that seemed to stretch time itself. As the dust settled, the reality of the scene came into focus.
Handcuffed suspects were led out, their faces a mix of defiance and resignation. The SWAT team, victorious yet vigilant, maintained their positions, eyes scanning for any lingering threats. The helicopter above slowly circled, its searchlight a beacon of law and order in the chaotic night. The raid had lasted mere minutes, but its impact would resonate far longer.
As the suspects were loaded into waiting vehicles and the tactical team began to withdraw, Manhattan's rhythm gradually resumed. The city's relentless energy, momentarily disrupted, surged back with renewed vigor.
In one of the neighbourhoods, quite a distance away from the insanity, a small apartment stood, sandwiched between two large storeys, looking rather shabby and unfit to be a home for probably anyone.
One of the rooms, neatly furnished with a simple bed, a large computer system, and black duffel bag and two picture frames pinned above the work table.
*BANG!*
"Fuck!"
Angrily smashing his fist into the massive screen of the desktop, a tall and handsome figure cursed, and quickly arose from his seat, hurling every single device on his work table onto the floor in a fit of rage and began stomping on them like a mad man.
His long brown hair fell to his shoulders and scattered before his forehead which was covered in sweat, obscuring his beautiful blue irises.
He gritted his teeth, sharpening his already straight jawline, his tall nose wrinkled, the blisters and teeth marks on his lips a testament to a consistent state of anxiety and stress.
After angrily stomping for a while, he took sharp deep breaths and returned himself to his usual calculating state of mind.
'Mom, Kate.. I need to get them out of here fast.'
Deciding on a plan of action, he quickly took off the white T shirt he was wearing and replaced it with a black one, matching his black pants and boots, before he finished off with a black leather jacket.
Taking out a box within his duffel bag, he slowly opened it, the violent light in his eyes increasing with every passing second, as he grabbed the fully loaded black pistol within the box.
He strapped the pistol to his waist, took in a deep breath to calm his erratic nerves before he reached out towards his duffel bag once more.
Right in that moment, the hairs on his body stood on end, his extended arm slowly backing up towards his body amidst the extreme silence.
*CRASH!* *Thud!*
*BEEP!* *BEEP!*
About a second later, a round object crashed through his glass window, sending shards of glass flying haphazardly as it landed right beside his feet, beeping unendingly, as if counting down to menacing end.
The moment his eyes glanced towards the small round grenade that had landed beneath his feet, he refused to hesitate, kicking out instantly, swatting the small round explosive away from him, before hurling himself into a another room without wasting a second.
Call it luck, or intuition, however his keen extended sense for danger or incoming trouble had been his only means of survival in his line of work.
*BOOM!*
An explosion tore through the walls and shook the building itself, carrying a wave of sand into the distance.
Two figures dressed in all black, like SWAT team members walked into the now destroyed apartment, armed to the teeth with pistols and knives, while their middle fingers rested on the trigger of their assault rifles which they menacingly pointed in front of them, aiming to kill on sight.
They walked slowly and steadily through the now destroyed apartment their masked eyes glancing around rapidly, examining their surroundings every passing second.
Almost a second later, they both turned their heads to the left, at a clanging sound, only to see a small globe of the earth rolling towards them which cuased them to look towards each other.
As if tactically agreeing to each other, they quickly unloaded a round of bullets into the room from which the globe rolled from, destroying everything in sight.
As they emptied their first round, they reached out , wanting to quickly load up their mags, when a figure rushed out from that same room with immense speed, his hand tightly grasping onto a kitchen knife.
*SLASH!*
The knife in his hand, like a blur, swept out in an instant, aiming for the neck of one of the armed men, who quickly reacted, blocking the sudden assault with his rifle.
The other man quickly hurled his rifle towards the attacker, and swiftly unstrapped his pistol about to fire.
Feeling his danger sense spike for a moment, the brown haired youth, while engaging one of the masked men kicked the globe towards the other masked man who was about to fire, before he headbutted the one before him, seized the man's weapon, after a quick exchange and hurled it away.
The man was about to reach out for another weapon when a slash swept out, his world turning upside down in a second, as his decapitated head slowly fell to the ground amidst sprays of blood and gore.
The other man who had recovered watched his teammates lifeless corpse slump to the ground and quickly reached out for a blade strapped to his side.
Watching the brown haired teen walk towards him with the knife in hand, he slowly backed up, gripping the blade in his hand even more tight.
*Clang!*
They clashed in an instant, their blades crashing into each other, as sparks escaped from the collision.
The masked man was an apt fighter, quickly going for the pressure points on the youth's body, displaying strange battle techniques however the youth remained unbothered, countering his every strike with precision and calmness.
Sidestepping, the youth dodged a slash and a punch smashed out, catching the masked man right in the face, sending him into disarray for a moment.
The next exchange of moves quickly ended, and a headless corpse slowly crashed into the ground, spraying blood onto the walls.
Taking a deep breath, the youth calmed himself, and flung the knife in his hand into the distance, before he made his way out of the apartment, his mind only focused on one thing.
*BEEP!**BEEP!*
A beeping sound suddenly halted his steps, as he turned towards the second corpse with a frown.
He walked to it cautiously and searched the body for the source of the sound and quickly took out a small cellphone answering an incoming call from a caller known as A.
"Well done Virgil. Magnificent as always..."
A ridiculing voice resounded on the other side, which caused the brown haired youth to tighten his fists and grit his teeth angrily.
"You ruined everything Virgil, you ruined everything. You ruined everything!!!!!...
And now, you have to pay the price!
You have 30 minutes to get here Virgil. Otherwise...."
"Mmmm...."
As the erratic voice angrily roared out, two different muffled groans grew louder and louder which caused, the youth, Virgil's eyes to widen in fear.
"Antonio!!!! Listen to me you bastard!!! This has nothing to do with them! If you lay even a finger on them!!"
Virgil roared out, fear which was never evident even at the time of battle with his own life in danger was now overflowing, his heart missing several beats in succession.
"Hahahaha!! You have 30 minutes Virgil, 30 minutes...
Five rounds of C4 explosive attached to both prisoners. Hahaha!
You know where to find me.."
The erraticaugh resounded once more, spelling doom in the mind of the brown haired youth, as he angrily flung the cell away and rushed out of the apartment in great fear.
