Chapter 118: Engage in Battle
The young Taoist who had spoken these words smiled and licked his lips.
Lu Yu ascended the steps and was about to enter the doorway when he suddenly turned and said, "Has no one told you how ugly that looks!" After speaking, he opened the door and went inside.
The Taoist standing outside suddenly contorted his face into a hideous expression. He wanted to tear the detestable Scholar apart. The disdainful tone and condescending look had filled his heart with a savage desire to kill. He stared fixedly at the door, hoping to hear Lu Yu's screams. He was already determined that if Lu Yu managed to come out alive, he would 'entertain' him thoroughly.
Lu Yu naturally did not care about the Taoist's thoughts. For him, this malevolent person was nothing more than an ant that could be crushed by a casual flick.
He slowly walked into the room and saw the Ruyi True Immortal sitting on a cushion, holding his broken weapon.
The Ruyi True Immortal was dressed in an exquisitely tailored Taoist robe, wearing shoes made of Spirit Grass, his eyes tightly shut, giving off an aura of mystical and Taoist grace in the spacious room.
At that moment, Ruyi True Immortal heard Lu Yu's footsteps, slowly opened his eyes, and those red, unhuman-like eyes were filled with rage.
The Ruyi True Immortal urgently needed to vent his anger and, looking at the Scholar in the green robe in front of him, asked in a very impolite tone, "You want the Abortion Spring Water, do you have a gift?"
Lu Yu smiled and shook his head, "Not at all!"
"So, you've come to mock me?" At that moment, the Ruyi True Immortal's desire to kill surged.
"As I know, the Abortion Spring originally belonged to no one. You just used your powerful mana to forcibly occupy this place and built the Taoist Temple to enjoy good days," Lu Yu retorted.
"Haha! The weak are meat; the strong do eat. That's just the way of the world. If you have the skills to defeat me, the spring water will be yours. But if you lose, I will twist off your head and hang it on this gate, letting everyone know the cost of arrogance before me," Ruyi True Immortal snarled through clenched teeth.
Immediately standing up, he threw a punch at Lu Yu. Lu Yu easily dodged Ruyi True Immortal's attack and said with a smile, "It seems the Monkey really got under your skin."
"So you're acquainted with that Monkey, perfect. I'll use your head to relieve my anger."
Ruyi True Immortal's fists rained down on Lu Yu like droplets, but not once could they reach Lu Yu's body.
"What comes around, goes around. Take my punch too," Lu Yu retorted.
Lu Yu threw a punch that met with Ruyi True Immortal's, transmitting a tremendous force to Ruyi True Immortal's body, causing him to widen his eyes in disbelief at the incredible strength emanating from such a thinly-built body.
His body involuntarily flew backward, breaking several columns in the room before finally stopping. Such power he had only seen in his own elder brother. Climbing out of the rubble, he looked at the refined Lu Yu and suddenly felt that the man in front of him seemed more like a member of the Demon Race than he did.
Once again, the two figures collided, and the immense power destroyed everything in the room. The house began to collapse, burying the two under it.
The Taoists outside stared in astonishment at the suddenly collapsed building, not knowing what exactly had happened.
However, the young Taoist guarding the doorway was visibly shocked. He had assumed that a frail scholar like Lu Yu would either be beaten to death and thrown out by the angry Honored Master or, if lucky, be spared and walk out trembling. He never expected this outcome.
As he wildly speculated about Lu Yu's identity and strength, a loud noise erupted, and two figures burst from the ruins—Lu Yu and Ruyi True Immortal.
By then, Ruyi True Immortal's eyes had turned red. He gritted his teeth and said, "Very well, you actually think I, Ruyi True Immortal, am easy to bully. That monkey is one thing, but you, a human scholar, dare to provoke me!"
Lu Yu did not respond, but merely smiled faintly. This smile instantly infuriated Ruyi True Immortal, clearly a look of contempt, reminding him of how his elder brother used to look at him, as if he were a mud wall that couldn't support itself.
He screamed in anger, his body moving as fast as lightning towards Lu Yu. However, Lu Yu was already too weary to continue the struggle, drew his Treasured Sword, and unleashed endless Sword Qi towards Ruyi True Immortal.
Immediately, it stopped Ruyi True Immortal's charging form; the infinite Sword Qi sliced through everything. By then, Ruyi True Immortal was in complete disarray, his fine Taoist Robe torn and tattered by the Sword Qi, leaving none of his former grace visible.
"Curses, if it weren't for that damn monkey destroying my weapon, I wouldn't be so passive," Ruyi True Immortal yelled loudly.
However, he was somewhat prepared, taking out an Iron Axe from his body. Since parting ways with his brother, he had not used this weapon. Facing such a formidable opponent as Lu Yu now, he had no choice but to take out this long-stored weapon.
"Take this axe from me!" Ruyi True Immortal shouted loudly.
The axe moved as fast as thunder, reaching Lu Yu in an instant. Lu Yu held the sword to block the thunderous blow, feeling a huge force transmitted through his hand.
Ruyi True Immortal's combat style had completely changed, initially relying on tricky, unexpected moves. Now, it was all about wide and powerful swings, as if he were using all his strength with each strike.
Lu Yu had to admit that this style of fighting made Ruyi True Immortal much more difficult to deal with than before, although this battle style didn't quite fit with Ruyi True Immortal's current attire.
With every strike, Ruyi True Immortal's axe became faster, and the force behind it grew stronger, causing the sound of tidal waves to gradually rise from Lu Yu's body.
Ruyi True Immortal then realized that, unbeknownst to him, a strange power had emanated from Lu Yu, resembling the tidal forces of the sea, weakening his own attacks with each ebb and flow.
Under this odd method of dissipating force, Lu Yu quickly became accustomed to Ruyi True Immortal's attack intensity and frequency. The Sword of State fluttered through the air like a dragon, dancing lightly as if pear blossoms were falling, followed by endless Sword Qi, which posed quite a challenge for Ruyi True Immortal.
With a crisp sound, Lu Yu and Ruyi True Immortal's figures separated again. By now, Ruyi True Immortal was dripping with sweat, and his tattered Taoist Robe was soaked, clinging to his body, making him look as disheveled as one could be, devoid of his previous divine aura. In contrast, Lu Yu showed no signs of scratches, not even a speck of dust on his body. Instead, he rubbed his arm, clearly holding back his full strength.
Seeing this, Ruyi True Immortal's fury became uncontrollable. He felt his pride deeply wounded, his eyes turning blood red.
