Journey to the West: Life Simulation of Sun Wukong

Chapter 48 Nezha Admits Defeat

"Since that's the case, then I'll just speak plainly," said Sun Wukong with a chuckle. "First, we shall fight without using mana, relying only on our physical bodies. What do you think?"

Amongst divine generals, a fight devoid of mana would greatly reduce its intensity and consequently, the collateral damage.

This way, the damage to Huaguo Mountain could be minimized.

However, Nezha didn't realize this; he thought the Monkey King was intending to use his taller stature to outdo him, and he felt disdain in his heart.

Even without mana, Nezha's physical prowess was unmatched, not to mention his three heads and six arms, which were a manifestation of his bodily divine skills and didn't require mana.

Though the power of his three heads and six arms would be much lessened without mana, it's hard to fight back with just two fists against four hands, and he had six arms, each wielding a different divine weapon.

What could the Monkey King possibly use to fight back?

"Agreed."

Thus, Nezha nodded agreeably, waiting to give the Monkey King a "surprise" afterward.

"Secondly, I will transform myself to be of your size. How about that?" Sun Wukong asked with a smile.

Of his size?

Nezha was taken aback, his expression strange.

This condition seemed not to restrict him but rather to limit the Monkey King himself.

In a battle between gods where no mana is involved, the size of the body might very well determine the outcome of the fight.

If one side is tall and strong and the other small and weak, even if the smaller, weaker one possesses superior martial skills and various methods, a single hit from the opponent could result in a loss.

The Monkey King's decision to match his size during the competition seemed intended to ensure a fair fight.

With that thought, Nezha mused, "The Monkey King does not wish to take advantage of me, so during the competition, I also won't use my three heads and six arms."

Although he thought so, his words were less forgiving. "You talk like this probably because you underestimate me, but since you wish it, I will let you experience my true capability when the time comes," he said.

"Thirdly, how about we make a wager on the outcome?" Sun Wukong proposed.

"What kind of wager?"

Nezha's interest was piqued.

Back in the heavens, he often gambled with the Four Heavenly Kings, but they didn't compete in martial arts, opting for other contests like tossing arrows into a pot or playing chess; unfortunately for him, he lost many times.

Still, in his free time, he would seek out the Four Heavenly Kings because he was fascinated by the sleeping bugs they nurtured. This type of bug was extraordinary, capable of making demon kings who only cultivated divine skills and mana fall into deep sleep. It was indeed a formidable tool.

No matter how formidable the demon or god's divine skills or how strong their mana, encountering this sleeping bug would still lead them into a deep slumber.

However, the bug had one flaw: it only worked when it touched a person. If discovered beforehand, even a mere mortal could simply crush it.

Nezha desired the bug merely out of a childlike fascination.

If others possessed it and he did not, naturally, he wanted it.

Purchase it from the Four Heavenly Kings?

Those fellows treasured their sleeping bugs too much to sell them.

Hence, Nezha had no choice but to attempt other methods of acquisition.

Unfortunately, when it came to gambling, Nezha was far inferior to the Four Heavenly Kings, often losing more than winning, and whenever he won, it was never about the sleeping bugs. It almost made him suspect the Four Heavenly Kings deliberately lost under circumstances that did not involve the bugs.

Yet, the more he lost, the more addictive it became.

Now, upon hearing Sun Wukong suggest a bet, his gambling addiction surged, making him itch with anticipation. To r^ep-o.rt. e%rror.s,. pl^e^a!s@e& visi.t* the o*r-i%gi&na#l^ p^o^st* on M|VLE$M-PY$R&.

Sun Wukong pulled a golden jade hair from behind his head and said, "This will be my wager."

"What use is that?"

Nezha scoffed, showing utter disdain.

A single hair, who was he kidding?

Then, Nezha watched as the golden jade hair transformed into a soaring golden dragon within Shuilian Cave, followed by changing into a colorful jade wind with a radiant halo. Next, it turned into a golden jade qilin with auspicious clouds underfoot and radiant aura all around.

The golden jade qilin charged towards Sun Wukong, then morphed into a thousand different weapons: sword, axe, spear, cudgel, halberd, and more, each a divine weapon capable of various transformations.

"Each of my hairs can transform, creating endless variations, be it rare beasts or various utensils, all capable of appropriate transformations," Sun Wukong explained.

Nezha's eyes widened. "With such abilities, do you not possess infinite treasures?"

Sun Wukong smiled and replied, "That's the idea."

"Braggart!"

Nezha could hardly believe that each hair on Sun Wukong's body could transform.

Even if they could, surely they were not numerous.

Seeing the effect of this one golden jade hair, which seemed to be a fine treasure, he thought if he won it, he would certainly treasure it well.

"Now, what about you?"

"What?"

"What will you wager?"

Nezha was startled. He had never mentioned any wager when gambling with the Four Heavenly Kings.

He thought for a moment and then took out a palm-sized blue bag. After searching through it, he finally took out a flat peach and said, "This is the six-thousand-year ripe flat peach that I kept from the Queen Mother's Flat Peach Banquet."

Ao Yun blinked his eyes.

These flat peaches were only available for consumption at the Queen Mother's Flat Peach Banquet. Even her father and his three uncles could only get four peaches each that ripened every three thousand years.

The flat peaches had to be consumed in the celestial court, and not even the pits were allowed to be taken to the mortal realm, as doing so would be a violation of celestial rules.

Therefore, Ao Yun had never tasted a flat peach.

Nezha thought to himself, "That's bad. This Monkey King has just taken his position and does not quite understand the celestial rules. He might have heard about the effects of the flat peaches, but this dragon princess surely knows from the Dragon King's mouth. This would count as a violation of celestial rules."

Since the flat peach was already out, would putting it back be like acknowledging there's something hidden?

"Flat peach, now that's something good." Sun Wukong appreciated Nezha's understanding even more. If not for the young boy's sense of propriety, this act would definitely make him a true troublemaker.

However, Sun Wukong had no intention of exposing him and merely said, "Well, it might just be perfect for planting a peach tree at Huaguo Mountain."

"So, where will the competition be held?"

Nezha quickly put the six-thousand-year ripe flat peach back in his pocket, taking out a demon-slaying knife and a demon-slaying sword.

"Follow me."

Sun Wukong led the way to the outside of Shuilian Cave.

Ao Yun followed behind, with Nezha behind him.

They arrived beside a wide river, where there was a training field nearby. Various species were practicing martial arts there. Upon seeing Sun Wukong and Ao Yun, they all shouted, "Great King!" "Second Great King!"

Although Sun Wukong was appointed as the Eastern Leisurely Spirit King by the celestial court, the myriad spirits of Huaguo Mountain still preferred to call him "Great King."

Sun Wukong allowed them to do so.

There was no other reason.

It was just more affable.

"Great King, what brings you here?"

Sun Ma, who was in charge of the area, hurried out of the tent upon hearing the news and said respectfully, "Are you here to inspect the training conditions of the various races? I can assure the Great King, they are all excellent underwater!"

The troops here, mostly consisting of sea turtles, shrimp soldiers, crab generals, water snakes, and the like, were mostly aquatic creatures, making up the naval forces of Huaguo Mountain.

"Arrange a clear area for me; I want to practice martial arts with this colleague from the celestial court," Sun Wukong explained his purpose.

"Having the Great King demonstrate martial arts would certainly be fantastic, as it could inspire the naval forces to train even harder," Sun Ma said, both happy and worried, "but since the Great King's divine skills are vast, could it possibly affect us if you take action?"

Sun Wukong replied, "Don't worry, Nezha and I are just competing in martial arts, not using mana."

Sun Ma sighed in relief: "That's good, I'll make the preparations immediately."

Before long, Sun Ma had the naval forces clear out an area of a kilometer square. The shrimp soldiers and crab generals, water snakes and turtles surrounded the area, cheering and shouting, rooting for Sun Wukong.

Ao Yun stood on the outskirts, praying in his heart for Sun Wukong.

"You Monkey King, what a big scene you have,"

Nezha glared, somewhat huffily saying, "But don't think just because you have a crowd, you can defeat me. If you lose, it will be quite the embarrassment."

"Crown Prince Nezha needn't worry," Sun Wukong's body shook and he shrunk by three inches, becoming the same size as Nezha, four feet eight inches tall, and his facial features softened a bit, adding a bit of baby fat.

"Ha ha."

Nezha laughed, "That's not shrinking, you've practically turned back into a child."

Sun Wukong retorted, "Sun is accommodating you. Seeing that you're a child, I've turned into a child as well to make it fair."

"If that's the case, then come on."

Nezha, with a sword in one hand and a knife in the other, was bursting with energy like a Hellish Asura, a god of death reincarnate, his murderous aura enveloping the area, silencing the surrounding troops.

Although Nezha wasn't using mana, his martial skills, honed through slaying demons, exuded an aura unmatched by the relatively unexperienced naval forces.

"Impressive!"

Sun Wukong exclaimed, pulling an embroidery needle from behind his ear that transformed into a five-foot-long Ruyi Jingu Bang.

"Attack!"

With a loud shout from Nezha, the sword's fierce light and the knife's sharp edge coordinated in attacks aimed at Sun Wukong's neck and chest, every move a killing blow.

Sun Wukong, holding the Ruyi Jingu Bang in one hand, blocked left and right, shattering the sword light and breaking the knife edges.

The iron rod, swung like the wind, fierce and powerful, and after just thirty rounds, Nezha's arms began to feel numb.

"Excellent, Monkey King! Such strength is truly uncommon!"

Nezha inwardly sighed, estimating how many more rounds he could withstand. Meanwhile, Sun Wukong, wielding the rod single-handedly, appeared energetic, seemingly possessing endless stamina, not showing any signs of fatigue.

After another thirty rounds, making it sixty rounds in total, Nezha's slashing slowed down a beat, allowing Sun Wukong the chance to press his staff on his arm, then with a clever maneuver, pushed him a hundred meters away.

The breeze brushed across his face; Nezha was panting heavily.

Meanwhile, Sun Wukong stood firmly on the spot, his golden fur rustling in the wind, displaying extraordinary martial prowess.

"Ha ha ha! Excellent, Monkey King!"

Nezha laughed loudly three times, "I've lost."

He clearly saw that during their battle, the Monkey King had used only one hand throughout, and with a single Ruyi Jingu Bang, he had utterly overwhelmed him. Moreover, that last blow, had the Monkey King not shown restraint, would probably have required long recovery for his arm.
