Journey to the West: Great Saint Equal to Heaven

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Slaying the Three Demons

They did not take Zhu Bajie seriously.

It was because they were confident they could take down Zhu Bajie.

But then, that monkey showed up.

Who in the world would dare to underestimate the Great Sage Equalling Heaven?

The one before them now was not the fake encountered during the Journey to the West, but the genuine Great Sage Equalling Heaven.

Sun Wukong had recovered to his peak mana, and simply by standing there, he exuded an immense oppressive force.

Fahai looked very excited. He quickly stepped forward and offered a salute, saying, "I have seen the Great Sage Equalling Heaven."

"There's no need for formalities, you've done well."

A smile immediately appeared on Fahai's face, as there were few within the Three Realms who could receive praise from the Great Sage Equalling Heaven.

Zhu Bajie stood to the side with an awkward expression.

Just some time ago, he had clashed with Sun Wukong, the two standing on opposing sides.

Meeting again now, naturally, it was very awkward.

Sun Wukong merely stared at him without a word.

Zhu Bajie walked over, sighed, and called out with his head bowed, "Monkey."

A single call of "Monkey" conveyed a myriad of feelings.

The corners of Sun Wukong's mouth slightly lifted into a smile.

"For that call of 'Monkey,' I'll forgive you."

"What?"

Zhu Bajie suddenly lifted his head, somewhat in disbelief.

He hadn't expected Monkey to forgive him so easily.

Sun Wukong's eyes had a profound depth as he spoke calmly, "What I hate is nothing more than your heartlessness. Even if you had shown a bit of remorse, I would not have broken with you. Unfortunately, the old monks and the others have disappointed me too much."

Had the roles been reversed, Sun Wukong would have likely made the same choice in their stead.

After all, they were just ordinary Immortal Gods, unlike him, who possessed an immortal body.

Even if Tathagata took action, it would be difficult to kill him; he could only be sealed.

At that time, if Zhu Bajie and the others had dared to show any dissatisfaction, they too would have faced replacement.

And those who are replaced, death awaits them.

Even ants will steal a life; what is there to blame them for?

Zhu Bajie felt a face full of guilt.

He had misunderstood Sun Wukong or rather, he had never imagined that Monkey was so generous.

"Congratulations to the Great Saint and Marshal for reconciling,"

Fahai said happily.

He also breathed a sigh of relief in his heart.

With the Great Sage Equalling Heaven here, some minor demons wouldn't be able to stir up much trouble.

Sun Wukong grinned and then turned his gaze towards the Golden Winged Great Roc and the others.

"Old Sun here is a demon himself. You devoured humans – Old Sun didn't care, but you can't eat the people here."

"Why not?"

The Green Lion Spirit frowned and asked.

Sun Wukong gently beckoned, and a single hair flew upward, which he then pocketed.

"Thousands of years ago, this place was once the Kingdom of Chechi, under Old Sun's protection. By eating humans here, you are disrespecting Old Sun; if I don't deal with you, won't that ruin Old Sun's reputation?"

Zhu Bajie suddenly came to a realization.

No wonder this place looked so familiar to him – it turned out to be the Kingdom of Chechi.

He was aware that Monkey had left behind some hairs here for the monks to seek help in times of disaster.

The expression of the Green Lion Spirit was fierce yet had a tinge of panic as he said loudly, "Sun Wukong, do you really want to make enemies with us for some mere mortals? Don't forget, behind us are Bodhisattvas Samantabhadra and Manjusri, and my third brother's elder is the Buddha Mother Peacock Mahamayuri Bodhisattva."

He invoked his powerful backers, hoping to intimidate Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong replied without warmth, "Mount Ling is no more; a bunch of homeless curs still trying to threaten me? Even if Tathagata were alive, if Old Sun wanted to beat and kill you, he wouldn't dare to utter a word against it."

This is the true Great Sage Equalling Heaven.

Now, Fahai truly witnessed it.

He looked at Sun Wukong with eyes brimming with admiration.

"Big brother, don't waste words with him. United, the three of us are not necessarily his match. Once upon a time, even Victorious Fighting Buddha was captured by us. Sun Wukong, what is there to fear?"

The Golden-Winged Great Roc was the most hot-tempered and could no longer hold back from making a move.

"Fine, today we'll fight it out with him."

The Green Lion Spirit was also enraged.

He refused to believe that he and his two brothers couldn't defeat the three opponents opposing them.

Moreover, they had a Bodhisattva backing them and didn't believe Sun Wukong would dare to harm them.

After all, the three Great Bodhisattvas were not to be trifled with either.

At Mount Emei Samantabhadra Practice Ground, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva's face suddenly changed, and he let out a mental cry of alarm as he rushed out.

At Mount Wutai Manjushri Bodhisattva Practice Ground, Manjushri Bodhisattva had almost exactly the same reaction.

At the Great Snow Mountain, a peacock spread its wings and soared through the sky, heading towards the Kingdom of Jisai.

And the battle here had begun.

The peak strength of Sun Wukong, just how terrifying it was.

Now they all witnessed it.

He alone fought against three Demon Kings, leaving them completely drained and ashen-faced.

In just over a dozen rounds, the White Elephant King was struck by Sun Wukong on the crown of his head with a staff, sending his soul to the underworld.

Followed by the Green Lion Spirit, who transformed into his true form, opened his mouth wide, and attempted to swallow Sun Wukong whole.

Sun Wukong directly used the "Law of Heaven and Earth" technique, standing tall and unshakable.

He grabbed the Green Lion Spirit with one hand and squeezed forcefully.

The Green Lion Spirit was immediately reduced to mush.

This display of magic terrified the Golden-Winged Great Roc, who transformed into the Great Roc and flew towards the west.

"You can't escape."

Sun Wukong mounted his Somersault Cloud and gave chase.

The Great Roc could cover ninety thousand miles with a flap of its wings, while Sun Wukong could travel one hundred and eight thousand miles with a flip in the air.

After just two somersaults on the cloud, he was caught by Sun Wukong.

"Spare my life."

The Golden-Winged Great Roc cried out.

But Sun Wukong paid no heed, grabbing the Great Roc and dragging it back.

Then, wielding the Jingu Bang, he struck down with his staff.

The Golden-Winged Great Roc was immediately smashed into pulp.

These three malevolent Demon Fiends finally met their retribution today.

Fahai pressed his palms together, looking at Sun Wukong with eyes full of reverence and admiration.

"Not good, they're here."

Zhu Bajie suddenly spoke up, his expression tense.

Fahai didn't catch on, being the weakest among the three.

But, moments later, he too knew who had come.

Three figures, arriving almost simultaneously, turned out to be the three Great Bodhisattvas.

"Sun Wukong, do you dare harm the life of my brother?"

Peacock Mahamayuri Bodhisattva, brimming with hostility, glared at Sun Wukong fiercely, as if ready to tear him apart.

"Great Saint, you've gone too far by taking the lives of our mounts. You need to give us an explanation."

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said coldly.

He had never had a good impression of Sun Wukong.

Manjushri Bodhisattva saw the remains of the Green Lion.

He took a deep breath, but he could not contain the fury in his eyes.

Sun Wukong had killed their mounts without showing any regard for their face. If word got out, their reputations would surely be tarnished.

Today, they must demand an explanation.

Otherwise, others might think they were afraid of Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong just sneered repeatedly, all too familiar with the true colors of these Great Bodhisattvas.

Fahai was filled with righteous indignation. In his eyes, the actions of the Great Saint were without fault, merely subduing demons and eliminating devils in defense of the common people. Why should the Bodhisattvas trouble him?

If anyone deserved to be held accountable, it should be the Bodhisattvas themselves.
