__________
"Hello? How does it feel to return to reality from a dream?" She was a stunning girl, her features flawless, with long purple-black hair, gem-like red pupils, and a pair of obsidian horns he had never seen before.
The girl stood before him with a stern expression, the ribbons on her dark black dress swaying gently in the wind.
He vomited everything at once, and a flood of confusing memories overwhelmed his mind, making him desire death in that moment.
"The more beautiful a woman is, the scarier she is."
Apart from the boy who had just appeared in front of him and whose gender he couldn't determine at first glance, this was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his life.
It was also the most terrifying nightmare he had ever experienced.
"I've already told you everything!" He shook uncontrollably, but his limbs were bound to the stone walls of the cave, unable to move at all.
"I came here specially to help you stop the bleeding and treat your injuries. I even restored your limbs that your sister had severed." The girl stepped closer, tickling his nose with a blade of dogtail grass.
"Try your best to remember something, okay? Come on!" She spoke the words in a soft, cute voice, even as he felt a strong, burning pain in the limbs fixed to the stone wall.
"Oh, even if I have this dream again, it seems like I won't be able to remember anything." The girl sighed, standing up and clapping her hands.
"I'm sorry, I should call you 'uncle,' because you're the second human I've dealt with. The first was your companion. So, I'm not very familiar with the human brain." The girl tilted her head, offering an innocent expression.
"So, for the experiment, I'll have to thank you, uncle~" She brought her hands together and smiled charmingly. "Please use your remaining energy."
A purple-red crystal appeared on the man's forehead, resembling an exquisite hair accessory. Fortunately, his hair was long enough to easily hide the crystal.
Then, as the girl clapped her hands, something emerged from the crystal. It was a mass of purple silk threads, thicker than human hair. The threads divided—four went to the left, and four went to the right—then entered his ears.
"Wooah! What is this? Aa..."
"Oh, this area reacts like this, and the other side responds this way..." The girl gleefully observed, making notes as though she were a scholar. She had made further progress in her understanding of brain science.
"Lilith, what's going on over there?" Aya immediately responded after receiving the report.
"I've asked everything I could, Mom. There's also some other information worth noting."
For example, the 'Mexius Pavilion,' which specializes in serving high-level adventurers and nobles, is worth looking into.
"Please report this information to me later."
"Okay, mother~"
"Alright, I'll leave it to you then."
The report ended, and Lilith waved her hand. The stone wall that had been holding the man in place began to writhe and spit him out as if vomiting something.
His limbs had been reduced to bones. Lilith used [Severe Injury Treatment], and his broken body healed instantly.
Brain death does not impede the body's ability to accept healing magic. As the girl savored the joy of acquiring new knowledge, she took out an arrow and casually pierced it into the man's heart.
The corpse could be used to collect the bounty, so it should be preserved properly, with a record of Ranger Levi's actions.
Making the best use of everything is Lilith's principle, both as a human and as a succubus.
"The more beautiful a woman is, the scarier she is... Is that right?" This was the phrase the man often muttered in his recurring dreams.
"Then Mom is the most terrifying!"
However, the most terrifying Aya Tiamat was currently in a state of serious trouble and confusion.
"Hey, Camilla, am I scary?" Aya, in the form of a beautiful boy, asked in distress.
Just now, the rescue of the girl had gone smoothly. She was teleported in, made a handsome entrance, knocked down the villain, and then, with a gentle expression, said, "I'm an adventurer who came to rescue you. Sorry I'm late."
Up until that point, everything had gone as planned. Honestly, Aya thought this would be enough to make any adolescent girl fall for him. It was the perfect, handsome hero saving the beauty.
"Shouldn't she be hugging my neck and crying with gratitude?"
"But instead, she looked at me, then acted as if she had seen a ghost—her breath caught in her throat before she fainted."
This isn't part of the script!
She had just bragged in front of his daughter, intending to act cool.
"Hahahah!" Camilla started laughing.
"Camilla, this is an unexpected situation! Don't laugh so quickly! Ahhhh, don't laugh!"
When Angelina woke up in her bed, it was already past mid-morning—around nine or ten o'clock. She sat up with difficulty, knocking over the water cup on the bedside table.
The cup fell onto the carpet, and a water stain spread out. Angelina, however, was too distracted to care. She didn't even bother to pick it up, stepping barefoot onto the soft carpet.
Her head throbbed painfully, and everything before her seemed to blur. Every joint in her body ached terribly, as if she had been riding a horse for an entire day.
"Is this my room?"
Looking around, the room, decorated in light yellow, was exactly as it had been when she left home. Even the arrangement of the stuffed bears on the cabinet was in the same order she remembered.
"Why am I here?" Rubbing her head, the girl slowly walked toward the door.
The only clear memory she had was eating at a restaurant. After that, everything seemed like a long, disjointed nightmare.
First, she was carried around in a daze, then thrown into a horse-drawn carriage, riding around for most of the night. She was finally unceremoniously dumped in a deserted village.
Of course, she couldn't recall any of this clearly. She remained confused until cold water was splashed in her face, waking her up.
Looking at the simple, dirty little room and the fierce, cold man, she soon understood the circumstances of her kidnapping.
She tried to fight back using magic, but the man discovered her intentions and threatened to cut off her hands if she attempted to use it.
Despite being able to burn him alive with her magic, she had no opportunity to cast it. This was the helplessness of a fragile mage when a warrior closed the distance.
Fear gripped her heart. Even though she had a more mature mentality than most, she couldn't easily endure this situation.
After all, she was just a little girl. In that moment, she couldn't hold back her tears.
However, just before her tear glands burst, the tears were forcibly repressed.
Her special ability, [Life Detection], allowed her to see the flame of life burning on a person's chest. This ability activated automatically when her emotions fluctuated violently, not just at her will.
So far, the person with the most vitality she had seen was the eighth-generation Martial King of the Empire, the ogre Brother Jin, whom she had seen in the great arena of the Bahas Empire.
The warrior king, stronger than the strongest warrior of mankind, the kingdom's warrior-captain Gazef, had a brown flame the size of an adult's fist burning on his chest.
An ordinary adult's flame, or should I say their vitality, was only about the size of a finger. So, when Angelina saw King Wu's vitality, her heart had already been deeply shocked.
And now, the sight before her was beyond comprehension. It was enough to subvert all logic and make her question her own powers—or whether something was wrong with her mind.
A brilliant pillar of fire shot toward her...
