Chapter 647: Stealing Home_2
Immediately, the painting behind Noah's head changed again.
This time, it became an oil painting of "Bishop Extending Arms."
The artwork, titled "Clearing the Way for the Lord," preserved the characteristics of a [Scavenger]. Noah used it to ignite the shadows with fierce flames, burning the enveloped players into ashes, turning into white light and dissipating.
The players had no sensation of anything until death.
From their perspective, they were just walking in that "garden" when suddenly the screen went black, followed by the message "You have died."
Playing left them thoroughly confused.
There weren't many players in front of the mountain villa, and after Noah killed a large number of them, the remaining ones either logged off quickly at the first sign of trouble or were cut down by Antonio, one sword at a time.
The accompanying female "Descendants of Darkness" corps barely lifted a finger before witnessing two Bishops eliminate nearly a thousand Mid Sequence Undead Foreigners effortlessly.
The battle lasted less than two minutes and was over by the time the three Historical Retrospection teams inside the villa arrived, finding only an empty and chaotic scene.
Leading them were two individuals, a man and a woman.
Atkinson, Vice Chairman of the History and Ritual Association, and Braun, a High Priest of the Hailing Group.
However, these were merely Incarnations of the Saints.
"Damn! The high-ranking members of the Dawn Church!"
As soon as Atkinson arrived, he glanced at the black-clad female Pope and his complexion changed dramatically.
"Retreat!!"
However, his command had barely left his mouth.
The twenty-seven members of the three Historical Retrospection teams didn't have time to escape using their abilities before being enveloped by a Night Domain, so dark that they couldn't see their own hands.
Floey sat sideways on the back of a deep wolf, and with a wave of her hand adorned with two rings, black vines surged from the ground, piercing through the bodies of the twenty-seven individuals like black spears.
Her face remained cold, and then she directed her palm at Atkinson.
He had just started using "Historical Retrospection," his figure flickered back to the villa, only to fall to the ground with a thud, breathless.
A translucent spirit remained behind.
Atkinson's spirit muttered one final, astonished phrase:
"So, my soul had already been taken..."
The spirit immediately twisted and flew into Floey's palm, which she clenched tightly.
Her gaze shifted, an emotionless look falling upon Braun, the High Priest of the Hailing Group.
"Seems your churches already have some ties. What scheme are you up to now?"
As she spoke, Floey casually fed the spirit to the deep wolf, which nuzzled her hand affectionately.
Braun seemed to accept that escape was hopeless and ceased struggling, wearing a cynical smile as he looked at the members of the Dawn Church.
"The church worshipping the King in Azure is indeed dominant, even more so than the Sun Church of old... aiming to wipe out the former Righteous God Church completely? What a joke!"
He gave no answer to Floey's question, appearing confident and fearless.
This was only an Incarnation, after all; even if destroyed, the loss would be limited.
Nevertheless, Floey seemed to understand Braun's mindset, slightly tilting her head as she spoke softly:
"Noah, your [Bone Gallery] still lacks a piece of the [Catastrophe Apostle]'s characteristics. This woman fits perfectly. Lead a team to find her and clean up the nearby Hailing Group station..."
Braun listened attentively.
But he furrowed his brows, finding it amusing.
His true self was hidden in an extremely secure location, why were they so certain they could find it...
"Yes, Your Majesty the Pope."
Noah respectfully bowed his head in acknowledgment.
Then, he took out a scroll directly from his arms, throwing it out, and the light it emitted constructed three arrays of varying sizes, with dozens of dharma seals interlinked, entirely enveloping Braun.
"Magic demigod's Divination Scroll?!"
Braun's expression was flabbergasted.
Among the ten pathways, the best at divination are Destiny, followed closely by Constellations and Magic...
Swoosh!
Braun's eyes narrowed, decisively opting to self-destruct his Incarnation.
His facial features contorted, eyes bulging, as if ready to burst in the next moment, using this method to evade the Divination Scroll's lock.
"Dawn Church, you—"
But a soft snap interrupted his words.
The tall and burly Antonio appeared behind Braun, squeezing his neck like a chick, silencing him.
Antonio's face wore a naive smile.
Without the bloodstains on his cheek, most would probably think he was a gentle and kind clergyman.
With near-demigod strength, Antonio controlled Braun's Incarnation using the Mythical Might of the Flesh Pathway, rendering all flesh and bones obedient, incapable of self-destruction.
As the light of the Divination Scroll receded, Braun's panic turned to despair... He realized that next, his true self would no longer be safe.
And the Incarnation's information couldn't be passed back.
"Send him on his way."
Floey gestured with her hand.
Antonio chuckled and squeezed with his large hand.
Poof!!
Braun's flesh and blood imploded like dominoes, spreading from the neck across the body, instantly burst into a mass of fragments.
"Noah."
Floey then nodded in indication.
Noah bowed with a hand over his chest, along with Alec and Antonio, leading the "Descendants of Darkness" to enter the Spirit World, following the guidance of the Divination Scroll, heading toward the Hailing Group station...
However, they had just left not long ago.
