Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Demon Lord Seed & Chosen Hero Egg

Great Jura Forest, Lake Siss

The lake lies downstream of the Great Ameld River, along its westernmost tributary, spanning over 1,000 kilometers in width. Its waters have seeped into the land, forming vast marshlands and limestone formations along its shores. Most notably, it houses a series of massive caverns that serve as the labyrinthine fortress and seat of government for the lizardmen tribe.

Though Lake Siss is usually tranquil, it was now a scene of chaos as hundreds of thousands clashed against a few hundred.

On one side stood 200,000 orcs led by an Orc Lord, while opposing them were hundreds of lizardmen commanded by Gabiru, supported by 100 Goblin Riders and 6 Kijin.

Not to be forgotten were Kurumi, Tabane, Yukihime, and Sui—these five wreaked havoc, their power having grown exponentially after evolving with Akira's help and acquiring new skills.

As for Shizu, she was tasked with leading and protecting the villagers in case anyone exploited the chaos to attack.

"Anthos Pagetou Khilion Eton!" murmured Yukihime as she soared above the orc army. White lightning began to rain down upon them.

Though it resembled lightning, it was actually ice. Within seconds, a 1-kilometer radius froze into a glacial field, turning roughly 20,000 orcs into ice statues.

"As expected of you, Yukihime," Tabane smirked, hovering beside her in her IS armor. She drew a 3-meter-long sniper rifle. "But I won't lose either."

Swish! Swish! Swish! Boom!

Without hesitation, Tabane unleashed a rapid volley of concentrated energy bullets, detonating on impact and annihilating every orc within a 10-meter radius. Unlike Yukihime's ice, Tabane's attack erased their bodies at the atomic level.

Yukihime and Tabane weren't the only ones ravaging the orc army. Kurumi used Toki Hami no Shiro (Time Devouring Castle) to consume the lifespan of all orcs within its range.

[Note: Individual Tokisaki Kurumi has acquired a Demon Lord Seed.]

"Just as Akira predicted," Kurumi muttered, licking her lips in excitement as the Voice of the World echoed in her mind. "He foresaw I'd obtain a Demon Lord Seed without any special effort."

In truth, it had been decided that Kurumi would receive the Demon Lord Seed, while Asuna was destined for the Chosen Hero Egg.

The requirements for the Chosen Hero Egg were clear: the candidate needed a blessing from either a light or darkness elemental.

The Demon Lord Seed, however, had ambiguous conditions. Though skeptical, Kurumi followed Akira's advice to act naturally—and he was right. Merely devouring the orcs' time with Toki Hami no Shiro granted her the seed.

Though Kurumi suspected there was more to it, she pushed the thought aside, savoring the new power surging through her body.

Meanwhile, Akira was absent from the raging battlefield. He had gone to the Dwelling of the Elementals with Asuna to secure the Chosen Hero Egg.

Dwelling of the Elementals

"So, you're here to receive a blessing from a light or darkness elemental?" A small, winged creature fluttered near Akira.

This was none other than Ramiris, her twin blond pigtails swaying, her voice annoyingly shrill.

"Unfortunately, I can't help directly. Granting blessings is up to the elementals themselves," Ramiris said, munching on cookies Akira had given her. "But I'll take you where you can get one."

"That's enough. I'll handle the rest," Akira replied with a gentle smile—yet for some reason, Ramiris felt a chill of terror from it.

"Then let's go!" Ramiris forced a nervous grin, waving her hand to warp space and reveal the true Dwelling of the Elementals, where humans could forge contracts and receive blessings.

Swish!

Without waiting, Akira and Asuna stepped through the portal, appearing on a platform of light with a well-like structure at its center.

"..." Asuna glanced at Akira, who nodded. They had entered the real Dwelling, where the Chosen Hero Egg awaited.

"What should I do, Ramiris-san?" Asuna asked, gazing around in awe at the surreal, breathtaking scenery.

"Anything. Sing, speak, even dance. If an elemental takes interest, they'll appear," Ramiris said dismissively, devouring cookies despite their size matching her own.

"Very well..." Asuna knelt at the platform's center, clasping her hands in prayer as if at a shrine.

The moment she approached the well, hundreds of lesser elementals swirled around her joyfully—but no greater elementals appeared.

Time crawled. Seconds became minutes, then hours. Yet Asuna remained silent, praying fervently.

'Is this impossible for me...?' She nearly despaired, ready to admit defeat—until Akira's voice cut through her thoughts.

"Stay as you are." His words reignited her resolve, and she resumed her prayer.

Then, Akira's dominant, icy voice echoed through the realm:

"Do not think you're safe just because you're spiritual life-forms." He unleashed his Apocalypse Dragon aura. "If you refuse my friend the Chosen Hero Egg, I'll remind you why True Dragons are feared."

BOOM!

A terrifying pressure engulfed the Dwelling—felt only by the greater elementals and the Elemental Lord. The unspoken threat was clear: obey or face annihilation.

"Wait!!" A panicked voice rang out as a Greater Elemental of Light—identical to the one Kenya Misaki summoned in the original story—materialized before Akira.

"You dare ignore her summons while I stand here?" Akira's gaze was frosty.

"A misunderstanding, Kokuryū-sama!" The elemental frantically waved its hands. "We weren't refusing! We were arguing over who'd respond—many wish to contract with her. Her pure soul and fierce desire to protect make her ideal for the Chosen Hero Egg!"

"..." Akira eyed it skeptically before giving a slight nod. "Very well. I'll overlook it this once. But compensate for your rudence by serving Asuna with your entire being. Hesitate, and you'll regret it eternally."

"As you command, Kokuryū-sama." The elemental bowed instinctively, then dissolved into light and rushed into Asuna's body—clearly terrified of Akira's wrath.

Minutes later, Asuna opened her eyes, now filled with knowledge from the elemental about the Chosen Hero Egg and how to become a True Chosen Hero.
