Is The Super Famous Sorceress The Villain?

Chapter 22: The Arrival At The Lair Of Boss Luna.

"A mutual love, the ideal couple, mutual trust, and always being there for each other. Carla thought that having these things in her relationship would guarantee that everything would go well. What could possibly go wrong? But what she didn't know was that Giselle was only pretending to love her, waiting for the perfect moment to betray her."

"It was devastating for Carla, an unexpected low blow. However, she wasn't one to sit idly by. She was determined to get revenge. She couldn't wait for the moment to—"

"Could you read silently? For God's sake, My headphones are turned up all the way, and I can still hear you," Warren interrupted, clearly annoyed.

"S-Sorry?"

Warren and I were on a bus heading to some unknown place. Apparently, someone called "Boss Luna" wanted to meet me at least, that's what Warren had said.

Warren wore a black jacket and matching pants, along with bright red headphones with LED lights on the sides that blinked to the rhythm of the music.

Meanwhile, I was still in my school uniform: a white shirt, a red skirt, And my favorite red hat.

After complaining, Warren crossed his arms and turned up the volume on his headphones. Sitting next to him, I could faintly hear the music he was playing. Pop? I wondered which artist he might be listening to.

Oh, and before we got on the bus, Warren suggested buying the second volume of the yuri manga I had read before. How considerate! But as we made our way to our destination, his music started getting louder and louder, and my curiosity got the better of me. I leaned a little closer to try to hear it more clearly.

"What's wrong, Mila? Already bored with the manga?" Warren asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Eh? Oh! N-no…"

"Then could you back up a bit? I can feel your breath on my neck, you know."

"Ahaha! Sorry…"

"God… I only suggested buying the next volume of that manga to keep you quiet, but I see that didn't work," he said, clearly irritated.

"Ah? So you had an ulterior motive, huh? I knew it! I knew I couldn't expect genuine kindness from you!"

"Mila," Warren said, slightly pulling off his headphones, "do you have any idea how annoying it is to endure a one-hour bus ride with you? No, thanks!"

"Ugh!"

How cruel! I mean, sure, I can be a little annoying sometimes, but… that much?!

"Anyway, you owe me 20 bucks. You're aware of that, right?"

"O- Of course! Do you think I'm some kind of thief?"

"…"

"Say something!"

"You're too loud…" Warren muttered as he rummaged through his bag. Suddenly, his face lit up with a sinister smile.

Huh… What could it be? A cookie? A delicious snack? If it was something like that, maybe I'd actually stay quiet...

With an evil laugh, Warren pulled something out of his bag and said "Kukuku… Yes, this will do."

Curious, I leaned closer cautiously, trying not to alert Warren to my intentions. Sniff sniff … I could smell something, but I couldn't quite make it out. However, when I saw the object, my heart sank.

"N-no, Warren. That's really not necessary. I'll stay quiet, I promise! Please—"

"Too late!" he said as he tore a strip of clear tape and mercilessly stuck it over my mouth.

"Mhmh!" I tried to protest, but it was useless.

And that's how I spent the entire ride, with tears of frustration streaming down my face. Meanwhile, Warren simply continued listening to his music, a satisfied smile on his face. Without a doubt, he was evil incarnate.

At last, we arrived at our destination. It was a zone located a few hours outside the city, a place filled with workshops. The ground was dry and dusty, and small, square two-story buildings were scattered all over the area. Outside the workshops, rugged men wearing leather jackets, black pants and brown leather boots were repairing and modifying cars and motorcycles. They looked like those wild street bikers you see in movies.

Huh… What kind of place have we stumbled into? I wondered. And what kind of person was this "Boss Luna"? In my mind, I imagined a fearsome woman, like a mafia boss covered in tattoos, saying something like, "What are you looking at?"

"Well, Mila, we're here… Mila?" Warren announced.

"Mhmh!" I tried to remind him of my situation.

"Oh, right, I almost forgot…"

Riiippp! "Ouch! That hurt! Warren, you're heartless!"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," he said, ignoring me and heading toward one of the buildings.

"Hey! Don't ignore me!"

As we approached, two men greeted us. One was tall, muscular, and had chest hair peeking out from beneath his black jacket. He wore dark sunglasses and had a cigarette in his mouth. The other was slimmer but just as tall, with spiky green hair and a small knife in his hand.

With a menacing glare, the slim one pointed his knife at us and said, "What are a couple of kids doing here? Get lost! This isn't a daycare for little brats!"

Whooa… These guys look dangerous. I wondered if they were sorcerers too. But despite their intimidating attempts, Warren remained calm and unfazed.

"I'm here to see Boss Luna. Where is she?"

"B-boss L-Lu-Luna?" At the mention of her name, the men began trembling with fear. Their intimidating facade crumbled in an instant, and they now looked like frightened children.

"S-she's waiting for you in the main garage," they stammered, their voices trembling as they sweated like they'd just run a marathon.

"Hiiiii!" Without another word, they fled, screaming.

Warren and I continued walking toward the main workshop. Among all the buildings, one stood out. It was larger, a four-story structure. Its windows were shattered, and the facade was covered in graffiti. But the most striking feature was the enormous shark head perched on top, also covered in graffiti.

Suddenly, Warren stopped and turned to me, his expression serious. "Mila, listen carefully. No matter what happens, don't smile at Boss Luna. Got it?"

"Huh? S-sure, I got it."

"Good. I hope so."

With that warning, we kept walking. My expectations for meeting Luna Van Vestar or, as everyone here called her, Boss Luna—were only growing.
