Is The Super Famous Sorceress The Villain?

Chapter 12: I'm Not Your Enemy.

The afternoon was settling in. Classes were over, and I was heading to the metro station. This time I was alone, as Gris had something to take care of. She didn't tell me exactly what, but she seemed busy.

However, what she told me earlier wouldn't leave my head. Too many doubts swirled around in my mind: Katrina, Trio Encanto, Warmonger, Aberrations, sorcery... There's so much I want to investigate, but I don't even know where to start.

"Damn it!" I grabbed my hat in frustration, and the people around me started avoiding me like I was some sort of weirdo. I ignored their stares and kept walking. But then…

Glare!

"Huh?"

My pulse quickened immediately. I had a bad feeling. I felt like I was in danger. I quickly turned around, and what I saw made me scream in terror.

Warren was running toward me with a knife in his hand!

Huh? Why isn't anyone stopping him? I thought. But then, a doubt echoed in my mind: Is he a sorcerer?

Instinctively, I ran, passing by countless shops in the middle of the big city. The subway station was just a few meters away. "I'll just run to there," I thought.

As I ran, I noticed something strange: the way people were staring at me. I figured they couldn't see what I was running from because their eyes were solely on me. 'Is he invisible? Then he must be a sorcerer,' I thought.

I looked back once again to estimate the distance between him and me... But...

"Huh...?"

Warren was just inches behind me. Not only that, the knife in his right hand was raised, ready to stab me. His determined eyes showed he was prepared to deliver the final blow.

"!!!"

Is this the end? Is there nothing I can do? Warren aimed the knife at me, and I could see its trajectory closing in slowly.

But then...

"I can't die yet!" I shouted. I started running much faster than before. "Uoooooo!"

I didn't know if I had managed to get away from him or not, but when I looked at his face again, for the first time, I saw a confused expression on it.

Is it working? Then I have to keep going. "Woooooo!"

I ran with all my might. Did I lose him? I wondered. I turned, and Warren was gone.

"Yes!"

I looked ahead, but to my misfortune, Warren was right in front of me. One of his hands was on the ground. He spun quickly and landed a kick on my side. The movement was so brief I couldn't anticipate it.

"Gahhh!" My whole body arched from the impact. It felt like all the air in my lungs had been forced out.

Fwoosh! Blam! Blam! Pam! I went flying into the alley on the left, crashing into a pile of garbage bins before slamming into a brick wall.

"Ouch!" My entire body trembled from the impact of that kick. I tried to get up, but it was useless.

Tap, tap, tap.

"Impressive! You withstood that kick?" Warren approached me slowly, the knife disappearing into his black gloves.

"Nghh, let me go!" I screamed as he grabbed me by one hand and pinned me against the wall. I desperately tried to struggle, but his strength was far superior to mine.

With his free hand, Warren began touching my body, specifically where his kick had landed.

"Amazing! Not a single broken rib! So, that means you are a yellow-eyed sorceress! I knew it!"

"W-what? What are you talking about?"

Warren leaned his face closer to mine with a terrifying grin. "Then you remember what happened that day, don't you? What happened in that old building?"

"Huh? How do you know about that?" My eyes widened at Warren's statement.

"It's me, Mila Vellerth, see?" Warren's body began transforming into the viscous aberration known as Warmonger, then shifted back to the human form of the student model I knew.

'Wait a minute... This boy's name..' A thought crossed my mind. Analyzing his name, everything made sense. WARren MONson GERmain.

Pointing at him, I said:

"You're him! Warmon...mhmm!"

Before I could say anything else, Warren quickly covered my mouth. "Idiot, don't yell. What if someone call Trio Encanto?"

Warren abandoned his formal tone and responded to me more brusquely, clearly desperate. Why is he here? Did he come to finish what he started? I have to escape!

I quickly broke free and started running, but...

"Wahhh! Mhmh!"

Before I could escape, Warren caught me again, this time pinning me in a chokehold. He adjusted his position slightly to cover my mouth.

"Mila Vellerth, I know you're terrified, but listen to me. That Friday, Katrina was going to kill you, but I saved you. Do you remember?"

"Mhmhmh!" My mouth was covered, what I wanted to say was: "Then why did you just attack me?! You almost gave me a heart attack!"

"Yes, I understand you're scared because of my sudden attack. I apologize for that, but I needed to confirm that you are a yellow-eyed sorceress, and the only way to do so was by putting you to the test in a high-risk scenario. Look at your ribs! there's no damage at all."

I touched my ribs. Although they hurt, it was true, there wasn't a single sign of injury!

Wait a second, how did he understand that last thing I said?

*******

The evening began to fall. Warmonger or rather, Warren and I were sitting in the city's empty park.

Munch munch. "I see. So you're working as an undercover agent to defeat Trio Encanto."

"That's right."

"But you need my help because only a yellow-eyed sorceress can defeat Katrina, correct?"

"Yes, exactly."

The reason I was eating was because I'd asked Warren to buy me snacks as compensation for the scare he gave me.

Although Warren seemed to be telling the truth, I was still a bit doubtful about the matter. Too many things were happening, and I didn't know how to react.

Warren, noticing my expression, started to speak. "As I said, a yellow-eyed sorceress is extremely rare, your support would be very valuable, but If you don't want to help, I understand, but sooner or later, this conflict will find you, Mila Vellerth."

Warren continued "Also, if you help us, we might rescue the innocent people you saw in that room. Doesn't that interest you?"

The image was still vivid in my memory. In that room, there were piles of people encapsulated in those cylinders, but a doubt crossed my mind. What other dark secrets might be in the other rooms of that old building? Not only that, but also that artist who was wrongfully accused, who will fight for his justice? They even tried to get rid of me. That means this city isn't a safe place for anyone! my mother, my father, Gris. They are all in danger.

Why am I doubting?! I'm not like this!

At that moment, an image came to my mind. The day my brother passed away. Then, I thought, as a smile appeared on my face 'This is an opportunity!'

As I was thinking about those things, Warren's voice brought me back to the present moment. "So, Mila, will you cooperate with us? I'm not your enemy I'm your ally," Warren said, extending his hand toward me.

Gripping his hand tightly, I exclaimed laudly, "Yes, I'll help!" Then I added, "But tell me everything you know about the trio encanto, the aberrations, and—"

"When the time is right, I'll tell you everything, Mila. For now, there's something more important to do. I'll teach you how to use your powers." Warren said with a smile.

We both looked at each other while still shaking hands. I returned Warren's smile and excitedly responded, "Yes!"

"But Mila... Um... Could you not yell so much?"

"Oh..."

That day, despite a great scare, had a favorable outcome. The future seemed exciting; however, I didn't know I was making a deal with a demon.
