Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 265: CA [265]: Jealous

Saeko, nominally a Level 2 adventurer, hadn't updated her status at the Guild either.

Within the Familia, Altair successfully reassured Est, helping her embrace her identity as a demon sword. Est even declared proudly that if Altair wanted to be a Demon Sword Knight, she would be that demon sword. Her mood restored, Est became inseparable from Altair, following him everywhere and responding eagerly to his trust and affection. This sparked another wave of jealousy from Hestia, who, provoked by Est's devotion, matched her fervor, determined not to let anyone, not even a sword, outshine her bond with Altair.

For days, Altair basked in the bliss of his partners' competing affections. Their eagerness to express their love made his life feel like paradise. However, Hestia's alluring figure stirred desires he couldn't act on with both partners present, leaving him with a twinge of regret.

Over these days, Altair introduced Est to Orario. She transformed into her sword form, hanging on his back, communicating through their contract and observing the world. Hestia, meanwhile, managed the phone store, where magic stone phones were now selling steadily at a high price. Their ability to enable long-distance communication around Orario made them a hit among adventurers and merchants alike, streamlining trade and information exchange without the need for Guild visits.

Saeko continued leading Kayo and Tina to the dungeon while handling the Familia's daily affairs. With Altair occupied showing Est around, he pitched in at home, taking over chores and cooking when Saeko was out. Once the Familia's head chef, he'd passed the role to Saeko at her insistence, after all, a Tojo woman wouldn't let her man linger in the kitchen.

Days later, the Denatus arrived. Held monthly, it was a gathering where gods bonded, handled Orario's affairs, and settled disputes, such as declaring Familia wars. Good news was shared to spread joy, bad news to lighten moods through gossip, and conflicts were resolved. Titles for newly leveled-up adventurers were also decided, with weaker Familias at the mercy of the gods' whims, while stronger ones had more control.

Altair's "Knight" title had been secured with the Loki Familia's support. Now, having leveled up, he could change it. Officially registered as Level 3 at the Guild, he hadn't updated his status after reaching Level 4, so he remained a Level 3 on record.

At this Denatus, Hestia planned to announce Altair's rise to Level 3 and request a title change to "Demon Sword Knight." Given the alliance between the Hestia and Loki Familias, no one was expected to object.

The Denatus was straightforward: several new Level 2 adventurers received titles, and Altair, noted as advancing from Level 2 to Level 3 and wielding a demon sword, was granted the title "Demon Sword Knight."

After the meeting, Hestia hurried back to the Familia's residence, the City of Ideals, unaware of a shadowy figure trailing her from a street corner, watching as she entered.

"Have you located the place?" a voice asked.

"Yes. The building has a plaque reading 'City of Ideals,' registered as the Hestia Familia's base," the shadow replied, kneeling in a dimly lit room suffused with a crimson aura, addressing a woman on a throne.

"City of Ideals, a charming name," the woman mused, her attire even more revealing than that of Orario's famously bold Amazons.

"What about their defenses?"

"Practically nonexistent. The compound and building are small, so a few people seem sufficient. No real security measures."

"How naive. No defenses? They could be killed in their sleep," the woman sneered. "Ishtar-sama, shall I act tonight?"

The woman on the throne, no mere mortal but the goddess Ishtar, leader of the Ishtar Familia, was known in the neighboring Tsukihime world as "Bow Rin." She had previously orchestrated the downfall of the Apollo Familia, coveting their two Level 2 seers. After Altair nearly decimated Apollo's forces, Ishtar seized the opportunity, declaring a War Game and crushing them.

Now, her sights were set on the Hestia Familia, not for personal grudges, but because their members leveled up at an alarming rate. Their leader, the "Knight" Altair, had reached Level 3 at unprecedented speed, and another member, "Sword Demon" Saeko, hit Level 2 nearly as fast. Their current levels were unclear but surely impressive.

Moreover, the Hestia Familia collaborated with the Loki Familia, one of Orario's twin pillars, on ventures like the phone store and joint expeditions. Ishtar recalled how Loki's "Vicious Wolf" Bert had suddenly jumped to Level 6. She suspected the Hestia Familia possessed a method to rapidly boost adventurer levels.

This was a tantalizing prospect for any Familia, especially Ishtar's. As a goddess of beauty, she was overshadowed by Freya, another beauty goddess who stole the spotlight. We're both goddesses of allure, why do they only see her? Ishtar fumed. To surpass Freya and drive her from Orario, she needed the power to accelerate leveling.

Tapping her alluring face with a finger, Ishtar commanded, "Go. Tonight, kidnap that knight."
