Volume 2 Chapter 101
101. Code Name
Xia Yi was really very curious.
Sera’s past behavior and style were different from now. She was much more unrestrained than now… So the title she gave herself before must be very interesting!
She looked at Jiye expectantly, waiting for him to reveal Sera’s past secrets.
But Sera’s expression became full of killing intent.
Her hand was placed on Jiye’s shoulder, forcibly interrupting him.
“Ah!!”
Jiye let out a miserable cry. He felt as if his shoulder was about to be crushed by a terrifying force.
Looking back, Sera’s face was incredibly dark and scary now, as if she was going to devour him alive.
Could it be that Big Sister didn’t want to expose her past in front of Miss Xia Yi?
“Big Sister’s past title, I… I forgot!!” Jiye shouted.
“Forgot? No way!” Xia Yi couldn’t accept this explanation. “Jiye, you admire Sera so much. How could you possibly forget such an important thing?”
“Of course I admire Big Sister the most. Everything about her, I—Ahhh!”
Jiye’s face twisted.
Because Sera’s hand became a bit heavier.
This was a warning.
He had a feeling that if he revealed Sera’s code name, he might not live another three seconds and would die miserably. So he forcibly changed his words, “Miss Xia Yi, I’m sorry, I really forgot. I accidentally tripped and hit my head on the corner of a table a few days ago and got amnesia. It just happened to be this!”
“Jiye, if you’re being threatened, just blink your eyes.”
“There’s no such thing, Miss Xia Yi. I’m not being threatened, hahaha!” Jiye just wouldn’t admit it.
Out of the desire to survive, he complied from the heart.
Sera’s hand moved away from Jiye’s shoulder, and the killing intent in her eyes faded, as if saying “Well done, Xiaoye,” which made Jiye breathe a sigh of relief.
Xia Yi could see that Sera didn’t want her to know about her past at all… It was such an interesting thing!
“Miss, why are you unhappy?” Sera asked knowingly.
“Sera, I want to give myself a good code name, but I don’t have any ideas. You’re hiding like this, so I can’t even use it as a reference!” Xia Yi pouted.
“If you want a reference, why don’t I tell you Lucia’s past code name?” Sera smiled. “That is the code name of Cangqing Gang’s legendary former leader.”
Wow, Sera was so bad. She didn’t mention her own past code name but casually revealed her sister’s past code name.
Xia Yi didn’t believe there was no personal emotion in this.
But…
She was also very interested!
After all, that silent and reticent maid used to be a gang leader too.
A surprising contrast indeed!
“Sera, tell me quickly!”
“When Lucia was engaged in gang activities in the past, the title she used was Yujin.”
“Yujin? So cool!” Xia Yi exclaimed. “I didn’t expect Lucia to give herself such a cool title!”
“Yes, although Sister always has an inscrutable expression… But back then, she was very focused on creating her own aloof and cool persona. She wanted to be as cool as possible, even her title.”
Sera continued to happily expose her sister’s dark history.
At this time, Jiye couldn’t help but interject, “Compared to Yujin, Big Sister’s title is even more—”
“Hmm?”
Sera glanced at Jiye.
Jiye was so scared that he immediately shut up. He hurriedly grabbed a newspaper from the table and covered his face, pretending to read it. He didn’t even notice that he was holding it upside down.
“Hmm… I got it. I know what code name to use!”
With a reference, Xia Yi thought for a while and came up with a good title.
“Mu Guang!”
“That code name is unexpectedly not bad.” Sera commented.
“I think it sounds great!” Jiye also gave his evaluation.
“Hmm hmm, then it’s decided. From now on, Mu Guang is me. I’ll use this code name for future actions.”
Xia Yi now had a strange sense of novelty.
This was the first time.
The title of Human Sword Saint had been given by others;
She had never given herself a title, and even her name was decided by the Schubert family.
“Then, Miss Xia Yi… Oh no, Miss Mu Guang, what’s your next plan?”
Ji Ye quickly adapted and changed how he addressed Xia Yi accordingly.
“Let me think…”
Xia Yi pondered for a moment.
“Before making further plans, I want to understand more bout Corolle’s current power dynamics, the number of gangs, the strengths and weaknesses of each force, the distribution of territories… and so on, comprehensively!”
Know your enemy and know yourself, and you need not fear the result of a hundred battles.
Xia Yi believed that intelligence was very important. With the Hechi Gang’s years of operation in Corolle, they must have an intelligence network.
“No problem. Leave this to me. I’ll send someone to compile all intelligence.”
Jiye took on the task, and then he looked at Sera.
“Big Sister, you may have to come with me next.”
“What for?”
“To meet some elders of the gang. Since I’ve decided to fully assist Miss Mu Guang, the entire gang needs to be mobilized. There can be no flaws in the execution. We must inform the elders,” Jiye explained. “Most of them are former members. As long as Big Sister shows up, they should all support unconditionally. If there are any who disagree, just give them a warning!”
“Oh, it’s just a small matter. No problem.”
Sera replied indifferently. Obviously, this matter was easy for her.
“Miss, I need to leave temporarily with Xiaoye to handle these matters. You can just stay here.”
“Mm, go ahead, Sera. I’ll wait for you to come back!” Xia Yi nodded.
…
Sera and Jiye left together.
Before leaving, Sera even locked the room to prevent Xia Yi from looking at her dark history. Hmph, so petty!
Xia Yi stayed inside the base waiting for their return.
According to Jiye, he had already informed the members here. Xia Yi could move around freely, and if she was bored, she could wait in the recreation room.
The so-called recreation room was where some gang members engaged in entertainment activities such as playing cards, smoking, gambling, and drinking… Xia Yi had no interest in those.
She wandered around the Hechi Gang’s base alone, talking to some members, trying to gather information.
Unfortunately, most of them were new members and knew too little about Sera. No juicy details could be dug up.
Night had fallen.
Xia Yi stood at the entrance of the base, boredly watching the night scenery and waiting.
“Sera still hasn’t returned. I wonder if she encountered some trouble… Should I take a stroll nearby?”
With nothing else to do, Xia Yi informed the Hechi Gang members that she would walk around nearby and left the entrance of the Hechi Gang’s base.
…
At the same time, the eyes lurking in the dark finally waited for the target to leave the Hechi Gang’s base alone.
“Target spotted.”
“Predicted assassination success rate—1000%.”
“Prepare for action.”
