Chapter 34: Get in the car, President!_3
The unique deep brown hybrid eyes were wide open, filled with incredulous light, as if seeing a deity descend from heaven.
Her mouth slightly open, she seemed to want to say something, but after holding it in for a while, she couldn't utter a word.
Zhou Qingfeng noticed the girl's two unusual stares, "Thank you for your kindness. But I can see I've caused you trouble. I'll leave right away."
The old lady came back to her senses and waved her hand, trying to keep her tone as gentle as possible, "Yes, this neighborhood is not peaceful. Gangsters often cause trouble.
If you provoke them in broad daylight, they're definitely not going to let it go easily. You should leave as soon as possible to avoid getting into more trouble."
Zhou Qingfeng turned to leave.
"I'll drive you," Hari suddenly interjected, her tone urgent. She ignored her grandmother's puzzled look and quickly explained:
"Those thugs might have already focused on this area, it's too dangerous for him to go alone. I can drive him out, it will help shake off the trouble faster."
She grabbed the car keys hanging on the wall and turned to Zhou Qingfeng, "Let's go, my car is in the backyard garage."
The old lady frowned and wanted to say something but remained silent.
Hari's suggestion sounded reasonable, after all, rumors spread quickly on these streets and alleys, and those idle thugs may have already come sniffing around.
The old lady sighed and waved her hand, "Then be careful, don't cause trouble."
Zhou Qingfeng did not refuse, he nodded and followed Hari out.
They walked out the back door to find an old blue pickup truck parked in the yard, with a few scratches on the body.
Hari held the car door, looked back at Zhou Qingfeng, took a few deep breaths, and tried to ask calmly, "Do you know how much the FBI's bounty is for you now?"
Zhou Qingfeng knew his identity had been exposed. He glanced at the old lady standing at the backyard door and coldly responded, "You've got some nerve, have you called the cops?"
"No." Hari shook her head, "The official bounty is unreliable, they might refuse to pay just because I dialed the wrong number.
I don't want to be mocked online like an idiot.
This neighborhood also never trusts the police. But I think, as a billionaire, you wouldn't mind spending some money for help."
"How much do you want?"
"One million US dollars, enough to move my whole family out of this damn neighborhood."
"No problem, the price is reasonable, but I can't pay you right now."
"I didn't expect you to." Hari smiled, opening the car door, "Get in, Mr. President.
It's my honor to be your driver. I will do my best to serve you. I hope you have a pleasant ride in my car."
The old pickup started, drove out of the garage, and paused briefly on the street outside. Hari gripped the steering wheel and asked, "Where do you plan to go now?" The full series lives on My Virtual Library Empire (M|V|L0EMPYR).
"Anywhere to lay low. Ideally, find a place for me to disguise myself again." Zhou Qingfeng had no specific goal.
"No one is coming to pick you up?" Hari realized something was wrong, "You are a billionaire, where are your subordinates?"
"You are my subordinate now." Zhou Qingfeng glanced out the window just as a seven-seat minivan passed by.
Inside the van, the bounty hunter Stock was eagerly looking at his phone for surveillance spots on the street, while his companions focused mainly ahead.
In the back seat, Lisa, with a swollen face, looked sadly out the window and her gaze met Zhou Qingfeng's. They instantly recognized each other.
