Invasion of the United States

Chapter 26: Who Are You? _3

"Why did this guy change cars and outfits?" Old Hammer frowned, his years of experience making him vigilant, "Victor, launch the third drone. This guy must be up to something."

Soon, the third drone roared into the sky from the back of the pickup truck, rapidly heading toward Elvin's location.

Zhou Qingfeng watched the direction of the surveillance target for a while and said strangely, "It seems like this guy is coming toward us."

-----------------

Elvin was driving his car, slowly circling the streets, his eyes warily scanning every corner and occasionally checking the rearview mirror.

If not for the high-altitude drone surveillance, it would be easy to get dizzy from his circling moves.

But at this moment, his direction had a traceable path, continuously approaching the neighborhood where Helen Grant lived.

After circling seven or eight times, Elvin chose a concealed spot under the roadside shade to stop. Here, there were no surveillance cameras' cold stares, nor the glances of passersby.

After getting out of the car, he cautiously circled the vehicle twice, confirmed the surroundings were safe, then took a box from the car, which contained a neatly folded drone.

Zhou Qingfeng and Hammer saw through all of Elvin's little tricks under the surveillance of their own drone.

"The target is alone. Should we make a move?" Zhou Qingfeng looked at Hammer.

The latter, experienced and precise in timing, shook his head and said, "Wait." Staring at the surveillance screen, he said, "Zoom in with the camera on the second drone. There's a car following the target."

Several hundred meters away, Elvin was preparing to launch his drone, his head constantly looking around, always cautious. Note: Check M_VLEMPY_R for any corrections.

Just then, a car came speeding over.

Elvin naturally turned his head to observe, his hand on the gun holster at his waist. When he saw who it was, the other party braked sharply and pointed a gun out of the car window.

"Kongges." Elvin exclaimed. He didn't have time to draw his gun but instinctively shouted, "Don't shoot, it wasn't me who ordered to capture your wife and kids, it was Director Matthew."

In just two or three days of absence, Kongges had experienced a life-and-death ordeal. His eyes were bloodshot, cheeks sunken, body haggard, yet radiating a fiery wrath.

He got out of the car, firmly pointing the gun at Elvin, and snarled, "Cuff yourself, or I'll kill you."

Elvin's hands slowly raised, but halfway up, he lowered them and shouted, "Calm down, Kongges. Killing me won't help.

Director Matthew wants you to keep your mouth shut. Capturing your wife and kids was just to intimidate you. I'm willing to help you, but you have to put down the gun first.

Don't make things uncontrollably chaotic, or Julia and Selena will die."

These shameless words inflamed Kongges' fury, "Bastard, I led you for five years, and you betray me.

I had you take my wife and daughter out of White Beach Town. Not only did you hold them hostage, but now you dare to threaten me..."

The feeling of betrayal was unbearable. If possible, Kongges wished to tear apart the asshole in front of him.

Seeing Kongges so enraged, Elvin's fear gradually dissipated, replaced by a nonchalant sneer.

"Don't be naive, Kongges, the world is cruel. I'm just following the rules, and you have to accept it.

Don't think that having a gun means you can control everything; in reality, you can't do anything.

The FBI is hunting you, you're a fugitive, Director Matthew wants you dead, your wife and daughter are controlled by the enemy, what can you do?

Come on, let's find a place to talk. There's always a solution." Elvin tried to use a seemingly relaxed attitude to break down Kongges' defenses, seeking a chance to escape.

Kongges' eyes were bloodshot, but he was cautious, fearing for his wife and daughter's safety like a heavy shackle, preventing any rash actions.

As he was trapped in this dilemma, a low buzzing sound suddenly came from the sky, gradually growing louder.

Kongges' attention was unconsciously attracted by this sudden sound, his gaze slightly shifted to the sky.

Elvin keenly captured this moment, turning decisively and sprinting toward the back of his car, trying to use the vehicle as cover to escape Kongges' gunpoint.

At the same time, a 'shuttle' swooped down from the sky, with a gun-like device hanging under its body, locking onto the fleeing Elvin like an eagle.

Elvin had already dashed behind the car, quickly drawing the handgun from his side, also unable to resist looking up at the high-speed approaching drone.

When he saw the gun barrel aimed at him, he realized the danger, raising his gun to shoot down the shuttle.

However, the shuttle, from rapid descent to sudden stop, steadied itself, and with a 'pop,' a tranquilizer dart shot out from the gun barrel, piercing Elvin's body.

Elvin hurriedly pulled out the needle, but it was too late. The two milliliters of propofol quickly infused into his body.

In just a few seconds, Elvin lost consciousness, collapsing heavily to the ground uncontrollably.

Next, the drone did a nimble turn in the air, focusing on the stunned Kongges beside him.

Kongges was flabbergasted by the sudden turn of events. Seeing the tranquilizer gun aimed at him, he shouted, "Damn it, who are you?"
