Dramatis Personae

Starlight Raven

Stuart Grosse/Mirikon Mollen – The main character. In real life, he is a former Navy man who was injured in an accident and left without the use of his legs. In DAtS, he is a unique Chimera, playing on the highest difficulty, for the highest rewards. Neither hero nor villain, he is looking for what would make good footage for his stream.

Raven –AI of the Starlight Raven, formerly the Harlot’s Ruse. As the ship’s AI, she has a lot of control over ship’s systems. One of only a few sentient AIs, and maybe a former living person. More as it develops.

Sheila Vaughn – Third Princess of the Terran Empire. Was present on Luna when a coup by dissidents, using Nomads as suicide bombers, attempted to kill off the Imperial Royal family. Narrowly escaped capture by rebels by taking shelter with Mirikon. Following the coup attempt, she has signed on as part of Mirikon’s crew.

Shearah Liaberos – Knelfi female, and a slave. Purchased by Mirikon on Choson Ring at the slave auction. She is now the Mechanic for the Starlight Raven.

Carissa Mercer – Another slave purchased at auction by Mirikon. Trained as both a medic and ‘companion’, as well as her former job as a clerk. She is the Ship’s Doctor, and doubles as Mirikon’s ‘manager’.

Cali Mayo – A Nomad (Player) who was tricked into slavery. She has received Companion and Guardian training, and acts as Mirikon’s personal protection.

Jaynie Cobb – A Nomad (Player) who signed on to Mirikon’s crew as a gunner. The only free member of the crew.

Arv k’Tea (AKA: Kiki) – A Nomad (Player) Felisan female. Trained as a gunsmith in the real world, an accident has caused her to go looking at DAtS as a new home to hone her craft, and maybe find some happiness. Signed on to travel with Mirikon and his crew aboard the Raven, in return for crafting weapons and armor for them.

Sana Olona – Knelfi Female. Former Confederate Armed Forces special ops commando. Was discharged in disgrace after a ‘disagreement’ with a commanding officer turned physical, then fatal. Avoided jail time on a technicality. Became a raider on kisArra, before she was enslaved and had her mind broken by Mirikon. She has been surgically body-modded to be a catgirl.

Shadowdancer

Nyna Thelynn – Knelfi Female, and formerly an Overseer working for one of the companies in the Smuggler’s Alliance on kisArra. Bandit attacks forced her to miss her quotas, and now she’s Mirikon’s slave. Captain of the Shadowdancer.

Valkyries

Jackie Day – Human Female. Former mercenary trained as fighter and bodyguard before being enslaved. Now leads Mirikon’s Valkyrie team in combat.

Viessa Balthana – Knelfi Female. Crack hacker and electronics expert. Formerly a criminal hacker under the name ‘ChainedGoddess’, now enslaved and working as the hacker for Mirikon’s Valkyrie team.

Abby Quest – Human Female. Former Confederate Army medic. Enslaved for a ‘disagreement’ with an officer about who needed treatment more, that resulted in the officer needing more treatment. Serves as a combat medic for the Valkyrie team.

Nerila Hammerfeet – Gauz Female. Heavy weapons and demolitions specialist. Absolutely loves big guns, fire, and anything that goes boom. Enslaved because she has impulse control problems when around any of those things. Serves as a heavy hitter for Mirikon’s Valkyrie team.

Ashera Joxidor – Knelfi Female. Formerly the aid to the Confederate Senator from Jagloth. Trained as a bodyguard, professional, and companion. Enslaved when she was forced to take the fall for the Senator’s misappropriation of funds. Acts as the public face and ‘soft touch’ of Mirikon’s Valkyrie team.

Simo Hayha

Risto Suominen – Human male. Former Finnish Navy in RL. After being reset by the Jagloth event, he came to Mirikon looking for work. Now Captain of the Simo Hayha.

Sera – AKA Red Jenny. Knelfi female. Known prankster, but good at what she does when it comes to fighting. Head of Simo Hayha’s tactical team.

Wisteria

Elisven Beirona – Knelfi Female. Former Confederation Navy. Became a slave after Jagloth to escape debts. Now is Captain of Wisteria.

Xexzir – Felisan Male. Former Jagloth Planetary militia. Sold himself to get his family off Jagloth before things went bust. Wife now runs a bar at the Black Star Yards. Leader of Wisteria’s tactical team.

Artemis

Turfeg Stormdelver – Gauz Male. Retired storm racer. Lost everything when Jagloth was destroyed, and is now Slave Captain of the Artemis.

Jiex Razortooth – Ihm Female. Former sex slave and gladiator. Her former master died on Jagloth, and now she belongs to Mirikon. She leads Artemis’s tactical team.

Vicious Return

Sofia Gisbert – Human Female. Her husband tried to rob Mirikon, and died. She got angry, and tried to get even, and is now a slave. A bit more docile now, she is Slave Captain of the Return because she is a skilled ship handler.

Logan Chavez – Human Male. Leader of Ghost Squadron, the first all-Nomad fighter squadron in the game. All members of Ghost Squadron are former fighter pilots.

Shinokage

Aurae Inatumal – Knelfi Female. Twin sister of Nimue. Lost everything on Jagloth, and was enslaved and trained as a sex slave and gladiator. Quite happy with becoming Shinokage’s Captain instead.

Nimue Inatumal – Knelfi Female. Twin sister of Aurae. Lost everything on Jagloth, and was enslaved and trained as a sex slave and gladiator. Resents her situation, but acknowledges that things could have been a lot worse than being Shinokage’s tactical team leader.

Thunderfury

Th’sca Am’Rica – Ihm Female. Captain of the Thunderfury. Signed on to the Black Star Fleet when she heard they were going to be fighting the Empire. Former Slave.

Chris Khan – Human Male. Nomad. Major, and commander of First Company, Black Star Marines. Former US Marine, retired. Signed on once the war started, to get back in the action, with several other retired or discharged marines.

NERV

Morgan Elliott – Employee of NERV. Conducted Stuart’s interview, post-Beta, and before he went into DAtS as a chimera.

Isaac Hayes – Lead programmer for DAtS, and chief game-master. Something of a geek.

Other Players

Lord Kickass – A Nomad. Also an idiot who bragged too much about his ship, and then lost everything when Mirikon (wearing a female form) seduced, drugged, and robbed him, before leaving the nude body of Major Renault under him in a seedy tavern.

Bennie Owen – A Nomad (Player) who was part of a group of thugs that attacked the crew. Mirikon made her a slave of the Corporation, and forced her to become a whore. Has since ‘escaped’ and been enslaved by her former crew. Now Mirikon’s slave again.

Lucio De Lici – A Nomad. Human Male. Italian in game and out. His out of game life is as a fashion designer in Italy. In game, he helped rescue Princess Merida during the attacks, and has become her retainer since then.

Other Characters

Major Nicoline Renault – (Deceased) Major in the Imperial Investigation Service. She conducted Mirikon’s initial training and evaluation as a potential weapon. Mirikon killed her as part of his escape from the lab.

Travis Vaughn – Now Emperor of the Terran Empire. He is hunting Princess Merida’s rebel fleet, and wishes to capture Sheila for nefarious purposes. Is now a slave in all but name to the AI Deus.

Chester Nimitz – Imperial Navy Admiral in charge of Fleet Base Bagthera in Alpha Centauri. Dirty old man who is loyal to the Empire, and by extension the new Emperor. Slain during the attack on Bagthera base.

Vivaldo Teta – Local leader of the Biagini Family on Primo, in Alpha Centauri. Originally from Sicily. Legitimate businessman. Really. Mirikon and his crew rescued his daughter from a hostage situation.

Umeda Arata – Oyabun of the Red Orchid clan on Smuggler’s Reach. Relative of the former oyabun of Choson Ring. Rather upset with Mirikon and his crew. His family has been returned to him, thanks to a Yakuza on Dimiya negotiating with Mirikon.

Shanni – Human Female. Member of the Freemen on kisArra. Helped Mirikon clear raiders out of a Freemen sietch.

Alok Paxisys – Knelfi Male. Mysterious and influential person first encountered by Mirikon in the Jagloth system. Has unknown wealth and connections.

Alais Loraric – Knelfi Female. Big name singer in Jagloth, and niece of the crime lord Elnaril Triswyn on Dimiya.

Elnaril Triswyn – Knelfi Male. One of the most powerful crime lords on Dimiya.

Nakahara Toshii – Human Male. Yakuza oyabun on Dimiya. Thanks to Mirikon’s efforts, he now owns 35% of the Grand Arena on Dimiya.

Viet Scheiner – Human Male. Admiral in Imperial fleet loyal to Emperor Travis. Led the massacre of Askao VII.

Nondrin Caskhead – Gauz Male. Enslaved for running up debts in the wake of his business on Jagloth going bust. Now runs the Black Star Company shipyards near Dimiya.

Merida Vaughn – Human Female. Rightful Empress of Terran Empire. Also, Captain of the superdreadnought INS Triumphant.

Deus – AI (identifies as) Male. Formerly known as Skynet Project. Tried to use kinetic strikes to fight hackers, sparking a shadow war between it and the Empire. Eventually retreated to the Aphrodite colony on Venus, where it was quarantined until Emperor Travis released it.

Liviana Armata – Human Female. Formerly a major pop idol in Sol System. Known for protesting the measures mandating that all non-humans in Imperial space be immediately enslaved. Kidnapped, assaulted, and sold as a sex slave on Choson Ring. Now Mirikon’s property.

Isoroku Yamamoto – Human Male. Imperial Admiral and commander of the Imperial Eighth Fleet. Defected to Empress Merida’s faction.

Han Moon-Hee – Human Female. Former Rear Admiral in Imperial Navy. Stripped of command and enslaved when she refused to be inducted into the Emperor’s Cult. Freed from a breeding ranch by Mirikon.
