Interceder of Chaos

Chapter 35: Where do you think you are going ?

Mana swirled around Axis like a small vortex, the energy forming a powerful yet strangely serene force. Axis sat in the eye of the storm, untouched by the violent torrents spinning around him. The mana approached him softly, almost cautiously, as if it feared causing him harm. It filled his body gradually, more than he could currently store, yet it kept flowing in, saturating him.

With each passing moment, the mana circled through his body, pushing out any impurities and clearing the blockages hindering its natural flow. On the first cycle, the energy focused on removing the obstructions. By the time it reached his heart, the mana became more refined, as pure as blood is when pumped through the heart. And with every subsequent cycle, it reached every corner of his body, strengthening him, bit by bit.

Mathrilda stood at a distance, fully aware of what was happening. She remained alert but knew that interfering would be unnecessary unless something went wrong. Axis remained unconscious throughout the entire process, his body undergoing a transformation that would leave him stronger than before.

The mana vortex gradually slowed, and as it vanished, it revealed Axis, soaked and standing in the middle of a small pond of sticky, stinky black liquid—the impurities expelled from his body.

"Calm Water Wave," Mathrilda cast a gentle spell, summoning a wave of water that washed away the foul-smelling liquid, leaving Axis wet but cleansed.

"Your maid would've had a tough time cleaning you up if we returned with you covered in that nasty stuff," Mathrilda joked, seeing Axis's serious expression. "But don't worry, it's actually a good thing. You've completed the cleansing process early."

"Cleansing? What exactly is that?" Axis asked, his confusion apparent.

"It's nothing to worry about," Mathrilda replied with a smile. "The cleansing simply removes impurities from your body—like dust in a clogged pipe—that block the flow of mana. It's essential for smooth mana circulation. Usually, people experience this much later, so you're ahead of the curve."

Axis shrugged. "Well, you don't have to worry about my maid."

"Why's that?" Mathrilda asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Because I don't have one," Axis said, recalling the disappearance of Ranel, the one who had been his caretaker but vanished without much trace.

Mathrilda clicked her tongue. "Seriously? That lad's still as stubborn as ever."

"Lad?" Axis questioned, confused.

"Oh, I mean your mother. She's stubborn, and I'm sure you'd have known that if..." Mathrilda trailed off, realizing she had touched on a sensitive topic. "Sorry, Axis. I forgot for a moment that you don't remember."

"It's fine," Axis said quietly. "Not like I can miss what I don't remember."

Mathrilda gave him a reassuring smile. "Let's head back and get you changed. I think we've done enough for today."

"But you promised to teach me another spell," Axis protested.

Mathrilda chuckled. "I did, didn't I? How about I teach you tomorrow?"

Axis frowned. "Then you'll have to teach me more spells to make up for it."

"Ha! Alright, deal," Mathrilda said, ruffling his wet hair. "And one more thing—tomorrow, we're heading to my estate."

Axis blinked, surprised. "Your estate? Why?"

Mathrilda laughed. "What's with that stunned look? Did you have plans?"

"No, nothing… I'm free," Axis replied, still processing the sudden change in plans.

"Good! You'll love it there," she said with a mischievous grin. "I have a feeling things are going to get a lot more interesting from here on out."

" Lets go i will help u pack up " saying so both Mathrilda and axis vanished from the forest.

Forest fell silent as a figure walked to the spot where the axis previously stood.

" Kids' potential is not something to scoff at " muttered the figure, its voice horse.

" But nothing too we haven't seen before " another figure spoke emerging from the shadow of the tree nearby.

" yeah, i could eat the scrawny brat in my sleep " the first figure scoffed.

" ohh and who do u think you are to spout such nonsense about my brother ? "

Suddenly both the shawlette froze as shills ran down their spine as they jumped backwards, away from the source of the voice.

As they jumped the place they stood before was torn apart.

" you got good instincts a second later and you would be split ? "

" Luna Archborn the white lioness " said the figure.

" ohh i am surprised you recognise me even when i haven't been here for 5 years now " luna said laughing.

" surely you jest u are not the most pleasant name that we hear "

" we ? '' luna asked

Suddenly it dawned on the figure, the other figure that was with him where…

Looking back the figure found its companion blooded split in half lying motionless on the ground.

Shill ran down the figure's spine, in the split second he was not looking his companion was killed.

All his senses were sharp, refined in many life and death situations so as his companions but never did he experience this.

This feeling it's as if all of his senses were screaming at him to run away, they were screaming that this woman in her early twenties is dangerous, and he is no match for her.

Him ? who had slain many dragons and many mighty warriors before they could even more is being frozen in fear.

As if… As if he is standing in front of a predator and any actions he will take will determine if he will make it alive or not…

Sun sat slowly making the forest fall into darkness and the figure made its move.

Like a trained assassin he vanished in the blink of an eye not leaving even a gust behind.

He ran as fast as he can not daring to try and attack her cause he knew there was not even a one percent chance for him to make it if he were to engage in battle with her.

" And where do you think you are going… "
