Chapter 490 - A New Discovery on Deified Children
As I reappeared inside my room in Kama, I made sure to check on little Zen for any bruises, any tear or dirt on his clothes or if he's feeling uncomfortable in any way. His clothes are still perfectly clean so no need for changes. He hasn't cried for food so he isn't hungry and there is no need to change his nappies too the last time I checked.
Zen stopped crying after he saw the surroundings have changed into a familiar room. He then looked around for a few seconds seemingly confirming if he is really back home then finally at me who is still carrying him. It was fine for only a few seconds then he screamed "dada" loudly while crying again.
From outside the room, I suddenly heard running footsteps and then a flurry of knocks outside my door. I knew immediately it was Arsenti. I even heard him cursing, "Damn it. The door is locked. Why is my Zen inside? Don't tell me she sent him back on his own? Women really do not know how to care for children!"
I smiled a bit then decided to do a little act. I then tried to make my face look irritated to see how "dada" will react after seeing me open the door and realizing that I heard everything he just said. I walked quietly towards the door and opened it abruptly making Arsenti almost fall down inside the room. Fortunately, he got his balance back. He screamed in surprise and then turned pale upon seeing me inside the room, carrying Zen with a hint of anger on my face.
He started stuttering as he started explaining apologetically, "I- I- Umm... Did you hear ev- everything I just- just said? I did not- I did not mean to insul- I mean say those things. I heard Zen crying inside the room so I panicked a bit."
I suddenly laughed out loud and replied, "If you don't trust me on taking care of the kid, why did you let me bring him then? You should have faith with me a bit, you know? I at least know how to feed him, change his nappies and keep him alive. You are hurting my feelings. He is my child too."
Arsenti looked stunned at my sudden laughter as well as the reply I have given him. He stared at me then his eyes started to tear up. He nodded his head slowly as he looked down and murmured, "Yes. Thank you. I apologize about forgetting that and not thinking straight, letting my emotions take over first."
As I was looking at his blushing and repentant face, I suddenly remembered something very important that I forgot to discuss with him. I immediately let Arsenti know and said, "Oh! I totally forgot to ask you. You feed out little Zen normal milk, right?" He looked up and stared at me in confusion then answered, "Yes. I am producing milk just fine. I am feeding him well and consistently. Why did you suddenly ask?"
I covered my forehead with my hand and asked, "Is everything okay with your body? Does he eat too much or something like that? Did you notice if something is unusual with how Zen acts?"
Arsenti stared at Zen who has calmed down after seeing his "dada" but is still enjoying being carried by me and had no intention of letting go of my clothes. I patiently waited for his response He pondered for a minute or two then finally shared his observations, "I can say that he eats quite a lot compared to other infants of the same age. I try to eat well too to keep my body healthy so I can also keep up with the milk he needed. I make sure to feed him every two hours without a fuss and he feeds until he can't get any more milk from me. He is a calm child so I feel really lucky."
I stared at Arsenti quietly with one raised eyebrow. I know there is something else he hasn't shared with me. As if remembering something and having a realization, he suddenly added, "Ah! I have never gotten him to burp even once even if I lay him on his tummy or pat his back but he doesn't cry so I assume he was perfectly fine and his tummy is filled just right. He is quite an energetic baby when he is awake too so I believe he is very healthy. He just sleeps a lot these days. I asked other fathers and they told me that babies are like that during their first year of life since that is how they grow up."
I smiled at Arsenti and shook my head. His eyes widen as he started looking scared. I heard him murmur, "Did I do something wrong? Did I forget to do anything for my son?"
I replied to him, "You do know that Zen is not a normal human child because I am his mother, right? Did you know that I always told him to be good to you and not give you a hard time even when he is inside your womb so I guess that explains it. Mystique children develop very fast so I believe he understood my instructions perfectly even as early as that time."
Arsenti looked as if I said something ridiculous. I clarified, "All mystique babies feed on something entirely different. It does not matter if they are pure blood, half-blood or even deified. It looks like milk too, white, a bit thick and it has the same scent too but it is made of essences from one or both of the child's parents. Since you have shared that he has only been drinking regular milk for the last few months since he was born, that explains why he never burped and likes to sleep a lot. I am sorry that I never discussed this with you before. This is totally my fault as it slipped my mind."
After that I explained to him that Zen needs a special "milk". I gave him a recent invention I have made to handle the child nutrition issue smoothly. It was a necklace with a peculiar pendant. Its function is to absorbs his essences automatically while I also have access to constantly supply it with my own even if I am away from the both of them.
It was peculiar but I guess that only applies to this worId. If you look at it closely, it definitely is a pacifier but is made of different materials. I taught Arsenti that he can just put the little protruded part in Zen's mouth to feed him the special "milk". I assured my husband that it has a function to make sure Zen is not overfed so when not feeding it just a normal pacifier to keep him from crying. I reminded him to still feed Zen with regular milk and then the special milk alternately for now so that the child can ease in with the essences.
He nodded his head and made sure to take note of all my instructions. As for the little guy, he is looking between me and his "dada" as if he can perfectly understand what we are saying which made me chuckle and kiss his little cheek. The little guy giggled at the sudden affection that he received.
I asked Arsenti to wear the necklace around his neck for now so it can start absorbing his essences automatically. I made sure that I have filled half of it my essence in advance. For now, we fed little Zen his regular milk and I was in awe on seeing a man breastfeeding a baby for the first time in both my lives. I immediately saw what Arsenti meant that the little guy eats a lot as he sucked greedily on his "dada".
I noticed Arsenti wincing a bit while feeding the child. I caressed Zen's little head and telepathically told him to not hurt his father and that nobody is going to steal his milk away so he doesn't have to suck too hard. The little guy gradually slowed down and fed calmly. When I looked back at Arsenti's face, he was staring right back at me with relief and gratitude etched on his face.
After getting all the milk he can get, little Zen unlatched and just stared blankly at the ceiling. I could not help but feel pity for the little guy as he must have been feeling a bit awful and discontented for the last few months but did not want to complain. I signaled Arsenti to put the pacifier into Zen's mouth and he followed my instructions immediately.
Little Zen was surprised about the weird thing that his father placed in his mouth. I telepathically gave the child another instruction, "That's the milk I made for you. Enjoy!" Hearing the world "milk", the little guy started sucking again and I saw the surprise and joy in his face the first time he tasted it. Since he was already more than half full with the regular milk before, he only fed for a few minutes before he fell asleep from being a full little piggy. For the first time, we heard a series of cure burps from the little guy while he's half asleep.
We both chuckled softly and let the pacifier stay in Zen's mouth to keep him calm and sleeping. Since the discussions are done, I bid my goodbye to Arsenti and told him that I will be staying some place else and I will visit them again as soon as I can. I kissed little Zen's head and then stole a kiss from my husband's lips before teleporting back to Marahuyo.
