Chapter 326 - Packing up for another move (Part 1)
After my quick visual inspection, I started walking towards the town hall. The elders and representatives of each race as well as my three husbands, upon seeing me make my way to the town hall, almost ran to catch up to my pace. They immediately knew that I have some announcements to make.
Upon reaching the town hall, I simply entered and sat on my designated seat. I waited patiently for everyone to arrive and settle down. It won't take that long anyways so there is no need to hurry anybody unnecessarily.
After a few minutes, everybody who needed to be in the meeting has taken their seats quietly around me. I looked a round for a few seconds and directly asked, "For the heralds, elves and giants, how soon can you pack up and move to the new world tree realm?"
Everybody looked at me like I spoke gibberish. Nobody reacted for at least half a minute or so. The first one to get back into his senses was Makisig. He declared, "Just give us a day and we'll prepare everything we will be bringing with us."
Both elves and heralds gave the same time frame as if fearing that they will be left behind if they don't prepare fast enough. I continued by saying, "The rest who will be staying will be scheduled to move out in the near future as well. This sanctuary will be kept for now for those that are meant to find it. I don't plan to destroy this place."
The meeting continued as I reminded them that houses will be provided in the new place but they are free to bring the current ones they have as extra houses for future inhabitants. I simply told them that I will help out.
Each race had their own smaller meetings amongst themselves afterwards to assign tasks for this migration. Some were assigned to secure food inventory, help people carry heavier items and also clean up the houses that will be left behind for others that may use it in the future.
It was harmonious and systematic compared to the first time these races arrived here in Marahuyo. Some looked sad to leave the home that they have stayed in for more than half a year. This is indeed where they started rebuilding the shattered pieces of their previous lives so it is bound to have some form of sentimental value for them.
They started building their homes and found friends here, something that they would never have dreamed of if you are in constant fear of being hurt or starved to death. The races that hated each other before and had biases, learned to live in harmony in this sanctuary.
I looked at everyone and assured them that they can all still meet each other in the new sanctuary eventually. I admitted that I am not able to arrange for everyone in one go so the move has to be done by batches.
Each race worked together based on their skills and abilities. Each abled individual carried stuff, cleaned, cooked, packed up what they can bring and helped out one another willingly.
Just like the time frame the three races provided earlier, it only took them less than 24 hours to prepare for the migration. Most of the giants wanted to bring their houses since they have built sturdy ones meant for long term use. Yoffir also decided to bring his since it was built together with his four pupils which was indeed quite spacious for all five of them. The hut of the sanctuary doctors will also be brought with them but the hospital will stay for others use.
As for my husbands and my in-laws, I have instructed all of them to stay behind for now since they won't be having their permanent homes together with the others. They are free to stay with their race's territory during daytime or whenever I am away but they will stay in my personal realm during the evenings and whenever I visit.
For their friends who were technically applying to be my lovers, they had to leave together with the rest of their race members. They sighed but understood that those that are already my husbands or lovers will have a different arrangement from the rest of them.
At dawn, I sent a telepathic message to Laerad about the next tenants for migration. He sounded surprised but still gave me an affirmative and told me to send them one race at a time for easier management.
I started with the elves first since they have the most number of citizens. The others who aren't moving yet assisted them to the teleportation portal together with all their personal belongings.
To be honest, I am a little nervous about this. The elves were the ones who sabotaged the previous world tree realm which eventually ended up getting destroyed. They also spearheaded the war that killed my people. I got past these issues and was okay with being with them just fine but I am not so sure about Laerad though.
Instead of sending them all by themselves, I told the others that I will accompany the first batch of migrants and do a quick check in the new living area assigned to them while I am on it. I promised to be back in a bit and accompany the others too.
As I appeared at the new Freyheimr, I saw Laerad staring at the new tenants wordlessly. As for the elves, they were stunned to see him and they all appeared quite scared and nervous. Some of their paces are pale and some weaker ones are already seated on the ground. My dear husband is breaking them through mana pressure that is gradually increasing with his unstable emotions.
I saw Yoffir fight through the mana pressure then come forward and introduce himself but Laerad just stared at him without any response. I walked towards Laerad and gave him a hug from behind which surprised him enough to dissipate the mana pressure into nothingness almost instantly. I introduced him formally to the elves as my husband and the personification of the previous and current world tree.
Upon hearing who he was, most of the elves bowed their head down in embarrassment and submission, looking repentant even if the sins of the past are not theirs to bear. Only Yoffir was alive at that time, the rest of the elves here are born after that devastating war and only read details about it in the elven records.
As for Yoffir, he introduced himself again in a more polite manner and defended himself that he was never part of the war against Eieneos. He proudly said that he was pro-Eieneos and did every possible way to sabotage the plans of his own kin. Laerad looked at me as if asking for confirmation so I nodded to acknowledge that what this cunning old elf was saying is really the truth.
He looked around and asked for the leader to come forward. Instead of just one elf, a group of older elves came forward to introduce themselves one by one. It seems that they have decided to have an assembly type of leadership instead of giving all the power to a single individual. Laerad let them decide on how to manage their citizens and simply gave them instructions to assign each elf to the houses available.
I also started placing some of the houses they chose to bring with them in some of the empty spaces. I left bigger items from my storage in the middle of the plaza so that anyone who owns them can freely take it and place it to whichever house it will belong to.
I gave Laerad the authority to provide the elves the set of rules they have to follow if they want to stay in the new world tree realm. He also covered the amount of rent the territory needs to pay every 100 days.
After Laerad was done with his little briefing, a new receptacle and orb was erected in the middle of the plaza as a means to pay rent. For this race, I chose not to give any preferential treatment or discount so as to avoid upsetting my deity husband.
Laerad and I then teleported to Yphradiz which is the new territory for the heralds. They would definitely be surprised about this since they used to just share their space with the elves. I heard my husband make a "hmpf" sound as if he was already regretting all the effort he gave to create the space for the elves and heralds.
I gave him a kiss on the cheek and a tight hug to calm him down. He looked at me and sighed in helplessness. He shooed me away and told me to just bring the burdens back. He then murmured that "only the giants are worth helping".
I teleported back to Marahuyo and immediately gave instructions for the heralds to prepare for the migration. Like before, I teleported with them to the new Yphradiz.
The briefing for the next two batches of migrants happened the same way as with the elves. Their level of fear and reverence towards Laerad was also the same. Guilt was also evident in their faces, thinking about how the previous world tree realm has been destroyed.
My people have always been vocal that the sins of their ancestors as well as their good deeds are all added up and inherited by the next generation. From this type of thinking, I understand this heavy mood they have as of the moment. It also gives me a bit of relief that those who sinned before actually taught the next generation that treachery will always be punished one way or another so they should copy what their ancestors did. I am just not so sure with the greedy elves who kidnapped other races though.
