Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 310 - It's time to fetch the fairy tenants (Part 1)

This time, the Aurum's four attendants couldn't help but chuckle while Dimitri just showed a rare knowing smile. As for the prince that was laughed at, his face turned pale almost immediately. He might be overly dramatic most of the time, jealous or feisty too but he can't win in any argument with Ioannis so just mentioning my main consort's name ended this supposed argument even before it escalated.

I honestly told them my plans for the next couple of weeks and gave them a heads up that I have to leave again early morning of tomorrow to somewhere outside the empire. I assured them that I am still a student of the academe though I only enrolled very few short-term subjects at the start of this semester. I told them that I plan to enroll to more classes after about two weeks but for now I have a lot of things to manage outside the academe. I admitted that my schedule was packed till the end of my freshman year but I promised to keep in touch with them and come back as much as I can.

With the explanation out of the way, I gave a chaste kiss on the lips for Aurum and his gang, knocked on the door of Arthur's room and gave him one too. Dimitri was left without a kiss and he looked hurt. I might need to tinker with time again to fit everything in my schedule.

I quickly pulled Dimitri inside his room and made sure that no one can enter the room and that the no sound will travel to the outside of it. I only got out of Dimitri's room after a little over an hour. That's the amount of time that passed outside his room but inside we spent half a day doing our couple activities in bed.

I tried sneaking out of the bedroom but saw everyone still seated in the living room area. They all gave me knowing looks but chose not to ask anything further. I bid everyone farewell, saying that I will be visiting the other two in the Moonlight Inn.

I teleported to visit Kayden's room then Lark's room to spend some intimate time for a little over an hour of human realm time with them. With that, I think I have been fair with everybody at least. I would have spent some time with Aurum and the four guys too but rules are rules so they just have to wait patiently just like what I have been doing all this time.

I left each of my husbands a cute little note, a contented smile on their sleeping faces and a very satisfied body though I tired them out. Still, I am sure I have done my wife duties well at least. I also took my time to check the progress of the construction on the second block of property I bought which was right next to the area of the moonlight inn.

As I looked around the deserted area in the wee hours of the night, it seems that the construction is at about 80% done which is quite impressive. This one has another inn but with a different design and more commercial spaces available. I also plan to use the part of this block which is right next to the moonlight inn block as an extension of the marketplace to double the space assigned to it and accommodate more sellers.

I like how speedy everything is progressing. I might need to check on the areas we are developing in Arista with Dimitri soon as well to ensure that we earn as much money as possible. Our family will be getting a few more members in the near future so I have to ensure I can afford all the upcoming changes.

Once I was done with my little inspection, I teleported straight to Peony's personal quarters in Zanahavre. Though I hid my mana and aura, it still woke up the fairy king who hurriedly dressed up and walked out of his bedroom to meet me. I am currently waiting inside the parlour where he chose to have a conversation with me before together with his wives and sons.

It was a few hours after midnight so I chose to wait for everybody in the house to wake up naturally. As I saw Peony arriving, I noticed his face looked like someone who has not been eating or sleeping well for several days. It was a stark contrast to how he looked like two weeks ago. He looked tired and haggard then but he did not look this sickly. He also do not have signs of being malnourished. He even has dark circles around his eyes.

I smiled at the fairy king and he gave me one small smile in return. He immediately asked, "You came quite early, your highness. I know that we're moving out of this place today but I thought you'll come some time in the early afternoon just like your last visit."

I sat comfortably and replied, "It is not like we need to sleep at night, Peony. Honestly, I don't know any other place I can stay in for tonight that will not make any of my men jealous so I came here without notice. I do apologize for disturbing your rest."

He nodded in understanding and chuckled. He then gave me a knowing look and commented, "There are indeed days like that. It doesn't matter if you have been with them for years or had children with each of them. Everybody has that sense of possessiveness and they want all your attention on them. It is just that our desperate need to do everything for our races to survive forces us to abolish the monogamous family setup."

I sighed and nodded as well. I smiled at him and gave a simple "Hmm" as a form of agreement to everything he has said. We both have multiple partners that have clashing personalities. I guess it is a little worse on my end since I have not consummated with some of my lovers and I only have a few that I have children with so the jealousy is quite troublesome.

Since our family set up is not something we can do something about, the topic of our conversation eventually moved to the upcoming move to the sanctuary I promised Peony. I asked him, "How many were you able to convince to accompany you in this move?"

He did not answer for quite some time and just sighed. He looked at me with a sense of helplessness and replied, "It's not that many, definitely less than half of the current population here. The ones that truly believe that I will not do something to bring them to harm are my family and loyal followers."

I gave him an assuring tap on his shoulder. I told him that it was quite understandable that not many will follow his lead since the fairies have already set this place in the human realm as their safe space. I also apologized to him that I am not able to disclose any more information about the sanctuary where I will be bringing him and his people.

Somewhat, I have a fault as to why things came to this. I purposely did not provide full information so it would indeed be hard for Peony to convince everyone to make that decision to move out. Most people will not risk moving their families to some place where they aren't about their safety or if their basic needs would be met. These two things will always be the most important points to consider and since there is no information about both, why would someone leave the sanctuary where they have been living in just fine for the last few centuries.

He moved on from the issue of the number of fairies willing to follow him. He simply continued by saying that the only ones that will be following him out of the sanctuary are the members of his paternal family and their attendants, his loyal personal attendants and guards including their families and finally, his long time friends and confidants. None of his wives and their families believed in him while his mother, though she wanted to accompany him, has other husbands and children that did not want to migrate so she could not just leave them behind.

Peony did not mention anything about his own children for some reason. Maybe, they have decided to stick with their maternal households in the end. Honestly, no one can blame them for making such a decision.

I did not comment on his circumstances since I have a bit of fault on how things were going. I did not provide the full details of where Peony and his companions will be migrating to so I really don't expect that everybody will believe him, much less anything I have said since I am just an outsider.

Besides how sickly Peony looked, I immediately felt uncomfortable being here after just a short two weeks. I am having a similar feeling when I visited Aeterdumnox and met that blood demon donor accidentally. It is just that it is a bit worse because the feeling was quintupled. The connection was indirect since we did not do the deed to make the babies but still it was strong enough to bother me. I can definitely feel the five distinct connections in my soul.

The first time I felt this, I ignored it but now I just couldn't. I started thinking about the possible reasons for such a strong soul reaction and the first thing I thought of was the children. Maybe, my children are trying to appeal to me, begging their mother to consider taking in their fathers. It was just a hypothesis though and I could not think of a way to find any proof to confirm it.

The moment I appeared inside the parlour of Peony's residence, the connection just surged forth that my breath hitched. I know for a fact that the other five may feel the same intensity since I remember that blood demon guy falling on the floor weakly. I can also feel that those five are on their way to where I am. This is such a hassle!

For some reason, they suddenly stopped and opted to just stay right outside of their father's private residence seemingly not having any intention to intrude at this time. As for Peony, I am quite sure he knows they were outside as I saw him looked towards the direction where they are. Fathers have a very strong connection to their children just like how those five knows the existence of my babies even if they are in a different realm.

For some reason, Peony decided to ignore his five sons outside and had no intention to invite them inside at all. I don't know the back story but most likely they might have fought when I left two weeks ago. As for those five, there is a chance that they have never told their father anything about the existence of their offspring. This is getting interesting.
