Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

Chapter 303 - A massive migration

When noon arrived, I did not forget to fulfill my promise with Artak. It was the designated time that I told him to start his tasks together with the others who should all be healed up by now. I sent a whiff of my mana together with a wind spell towards the direction of Izvratya which is our agreed upon signal. This was done so discreetly that nobody noticed it since I was still casually choosing slaves as I released the chantless spell upwards.

At the time I sent the signal to the others, I can say that I was already 90% done with my little shopping spree. I only have about half an hour at most to finish up what I came here for, complete the payments I need to make for all the supposed slaves I chose and move all of my new people out of this place quickly.

At a quarter past noon, I finished my selection and I gave Destine instructions to instruct the others that I did not chose to leave the plaza and for her to start computing the amount I need to pay for all the people I chose. I also instructed the guards to keep the people together in the middle of the plaza since I need to personally talk to them and mark them.

Destine was quick and she was able to give me the total amount I needed to pay within a few minutes. She even told me she rounded it off and gave me a few silvers as discount. I gave her the money without batting my eyelids though it amounted to several gold coins in total.

After my guide received the payment, she called off most of the guards and only left about three to keep an eye on me and the people remaining in the plaza. She then hurriedly left as if scared that I will change my mind and take the money back if I find any issues with any of the slaves I just picked.

When the guards are far enough, I casted a sound proof and sight distortion barrier so the people outside won't see and hear anything that is happening inside the barrier. The beast men immediately felt the flicker of mana in the surroundings and they could not help but panic. Some even tried to push the barrier with their body to get out but of course they simply bounced back in.

The people started shivering due to the surging mana and the sturdy barrier that was suddenly surrounding them. Being stuck in the same place with their supposed slave owner would definitely not be an experience they would like to have.

With some stroke of luck, the guard that confronted me at the front gates earlier was one of the slaves that I was allowed to buy today. I gave a little back story of our altercation to my ever efficient guide and she gave me a special pass to buy off this guy as a little preferential treatment for a big customer like me. The said guy is now here, imprisoned inside my barrier and constantly glaring at me.

He immediately pushed his forward through the crowd and started confronting me, "Who are you really? Why are you trying to take this many beast men out of our sanctuary? What are you planning to do with all of us?"

I looked at him with the same amusement I felt the first time I saw him at the gates. I stared at him silently that surely made him uncomfortable. As expected, he was the first one to break the eye contact of our sudden staring contest. I scoffed and replied, "You know that I own you now so what gives you the right to question me and my plans? As for what I would do with everyone, let's start with this..."

As I ended my last sentence, I lifted my right hand with my palm facing upwards and made a chantless spell again. This spell placed the symbol of Marahuyo at the back of all the right hands of everyone within the barrier. One of the children shouted with excitement, "Mother, the back of my hand has a drawing! It is lighting up right now!"

Due the beast men's naturally keen sense of hearing, they clearly heard what the young girl said and curiously looked towards the back of their hands. It was just in time for all of them to still see a remnant of the symbol and the bright light that shined only for a few seconds before it disappeared without a trace.

The feisty guard angrily accused me again, "What did you do to us? Was that a slave mark you placed on our hands?"

As of now, I am just tired of how much he complains and questions me so I answered him sarcastically, "Maybe? Who knows? What can you even do about it if it was a slave mark?" I rolled my eyes and made a quick decision to teleport right behind him. I slapped his back a little harder that I was supposed to and then sent him to Marahuyo first. Now that he's gone, there's finally peace in my surroundings again.

As for the remaining people, I talked to them calmly using my normal voice, no longer the haughty and mean person I was a while ago. I started explaining to them, "As of the moment, the people in Izvratya had started making their move to destroy that village and escape to another safe sanctuary with Artak leading them. The name of that sanctuary is Marahuyo and it is home to different mystique races as we speak. I created that sanctuary and that is where all of you are going today. The peacock tribe that successfully escaped from before are now safely living there."

The people started murmuring about the things that I have just said. Some looked stunned as if not believing that there is actually another place where they can live a better life. Others started crying but this time due to a combination of relief and happiness. Some sighed in relief that the peacock beast men were not killed off by the guards that were tasked to pursued and punish escapees.

When everybody has settled down a bit, I continued, "The symbol that appeared at the back of your right hands is a teleportation and identification crest so you can enter Marahuyo freely. The teleportation activation word I have set for today is "Freedom". I will be bringing down the barrier in a bit so as not to alert the guards too much. What I want you all to do is go and bring out all the things that are important to you out from your homes, both living and non-living so you can teleport them to Marahuyo with you."

I gave each of them storage bags, the same ones I gave to Artak's group, where they can store their non-living valuable items. As for the living ones, I told them to hold on to farm animals or even trees that they want to bring with them before teleporting out. As for crops, they can gently dig them with their roots and bring them in any bag or sack they can find then I will help them replant them at the new sanctuary. I gave them instructions that once they are ready, they can say the teleportation word. I asked them to help out the injured or disabled ones first back to their homes and help them pack up as well.

The others looked at me hopefully since I know that they want to bring most of the things in their houses, their farm animals and even their crops if they could. Once I got their agreements, I disabled the barrier and everybody immediately went back to their homes to take whatever they can with them. I reminded them to be smart, quick and discreet about storing things and just this time, they are allowed to be a little more greedy.

Everybody laughed in understanding and their eyes showed a fierce determination to get as much as they can before leaving this place. As I brought the barrier down, I signaled the guards that I have just finished marking my new slaves and I have sent them to go back to their homes to bring some change of clothes and a few valuable items they own with them for a few minutes. I assured them that they will come back to the plaza so we can leave together as I plan to just stay seated right where I am. It was a blatant lie to buy time for the people to grab everything they want to since I have the ability to know if everybody have already safely left and during the commotion later, I can also make my escape.

People who have been wronged for a long time are mostly petty. If they were given even a small means to retaliate or get a payback without repercussions, they will definitely make most of it. Because of this, I am sure my people won't leave this place until their storage bags are full and they have taken everything valuable to them. Most likely, the homes that they will leave behind will be stripped bare. They would definitely not want anybody in the sanctuary to enjoy the fruits of their hardword after they were readily sold off as slaves though they know that I was just acting a play now to disguise a rescue.
