Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!

It seems that Aurum's four aides have fairly good memories as they seem to remember seeing me before though surprise is still evident on their faces. I only kept eye contact for a few seconds before looking down on the table and lowering the wine glass I am holding.

Lowering my wine glass was a pre-determined signal so at the same time the wine glass was placed back in the table, Samir and Laerad appeared beside me as if they teleported out of nowhere. Their role is to present my gift to the birthday celebrant.

I giggled on how dramatic their entrance was. They are dressed as if they are going to war to get rid of love rivals. The guards and mages were immediately alerted as to how two grown men can just appear inside the palace without any disturbances coming from the protective barrier. I raised my hand to stop their approach and explained that they have been with me all this while but on high level stealth spells.

Samir conjured an exquisite-looking gift box from his storage space and gave it to one of the palace attendants as our gift to the birthday celebrant. It can't be helped that all the guests are looking our way at this time. These two are ethereally handsome, their faces are a give away that the three of us are not humans.

As the people started to murmur about the three of us, the males are starting to plan on how to approach me while the females are eyeing my two companions lewdly as if they are peeling the clothes off of their bodies one by one. The both of them looked cold on the outside but they are sending me telepathic messages nonstop.

Samir's telepathic messages are about appreciating the decor in the palace as well as the clothing designs which I understand since the clothes of humans half a millenia ago would definitely look different. He seemed totally oblivious to the lewd stares that other women are giving him. Right now, he is staring at the delicious-looking food on the buffet table wanting to eat some the soonest.

Laerad's telepathic messages are the opposite. He was saying negative things about the too simplistic decor compared to the banquets that he has been. I do understand his dislike if we are talking about him comparing human banquets to deity banquets, of course. He is more sensitive with the lewd stares, people's thoughts and body language. He started calling the women around the banquet "thirsty", "greedy", "hopeless", etc. He even described them as "disgusting sexual psychos" and other worst names. I had to calm him down before he starts blinding every single person who is staring at him.

Just as I was starting to get frustrated with the noise in my head coming from my two companions, the empress and her main consort, the parents of the birthday celebrant appeared at the top of the staircase and greeted the guests. They carefully alighted the steps and sat on the highest seat in front of the banquet hall. This has successfully distracted my two attendants from ranting further.

The royal couple gave a short speech and then gave everyone permission to start the festivities. This is our signal to start eating, dancing and talking with other visitors. Out of the those three things, I am honestly only interested on the first one. I sent telepathic messages to these two talkative guys to get food and drinks for the three of us. They looked at me at the same time and went on their way without complains.

Not even a few minutes have passed when Grandpa Ruslan, Grandma Valeria and Dimitri approached me and asked if they could share the table with me. I nodded my head and let them sit. They all know it was me since my spells of disguise no longer works on the three of them.

I asked this favor from them back in Arista so I will not be asked approached by other people and randomly invited to drink, dance or make small talk. After some time, Laerad and Samir came back with the food and drinks. They looked surprised because of the additional three people at our table. They sat on each of my sides like dutiful guards and started serving me food.

Dimitri quietly watched the two guys who are serving me but did not say anything. I placed a sound barrier around our table and introduced the five of them to each other which only took a minute or two. I removed the sound barrier immediately after that. Instead of the tension subsiding, now that these three guys know what their roles are in my life, everything became eerily quiet and increasingly cold.

This awkward feeling persisted for the next couple of hours even amidst the stories my grandparents-in-law, Dimitri and I are sharing around the table. There are still a few brave souls (both men and women) that approached our table to introduce themselves and try to have some small talk but they are thwarted by the three cold faces of my men. All of them awkwardly said their goodbyes and left our table in a hurry as if fearing for their lives.

The birthday banquet ended around midnight as the carriages started to leave the palace gates. Those that come from far away places were given their personal quarters that they can stay in for the night. As for me, an attendant of the empress invited me to have a private conversationwith the royal couple in the empress' palace.

My grandparents-in-law bid their goodbyes as I assisted them in teleporting back to Arista. I then assisted Dimitri in teleporting back to our villa inside the academe. As for me, I followed the attendant while Samir and Laerad casted their stealth spell disappearing in front of all the guards and the mages eyes. When I was asked where they went, I answered them with a smile.

Upon entering the royal chambers, besides the empress and main consort, they have one royal attendant with them, Aurum and his four familiar aides as well. There are a stack of documents placed at the middle of the coffee table, some stamps, an ink pad and quill pens. It is now time to make the engagement official. This was nothing but a pretense though since the documents have been completed before hand with the help of Xenos.

The royal attendant read through the engagement agreement conditions as well as the inclusions of the dowry and when the wedding itself will commence. I requested for a private wedding and promised to make it up with lavish gifts for the royal family and my new consort instead. The royal parents-in-law readily agreed with my request and with that, they have officially launched the use of the two defensive and offensive barriers that I have gifted to them as part of the dowry: one protecting the main palace and the other protecting the borders of the whole of Hoffen City.

The royal attendant presented the stack of documents towards Aurum's four attendants and they quickly signed their names and put their stamps on it. Amidst the things that were happening, Aurum looked confused since nobody asked him anything and he wasn't instructed to sign any documents as well. Once the four attendants have placed their signature and their stamps on the document, it was then my turn to use the Eieneos official royal stamp on it. I already signed it beforehand so the last step was to use magic to make copies of it and then seal it with mystique mana to protect it.

Aurum couldn't take the fact that everyone is ignoring him while completing official documents anymore. I was trying to stop myself from laughing since I definitely understand the feeling of being left out when you should be the person who is personally affected by the results. He screamed, "What the fuck is happening?! Why is it all said ans done when I did not even agree or sign anything?!"

I looked at Xenos to signal him to respond and he spoke dutifully, "Different versions of the engagement agreement has been prepared in advance. One only has the prince's signature only in case your intended fiancee arrives. The second only has the Queen of Eieneos' signature in case she has to choose another prince if you can't be picked anymore. The last one has both the Queen of Eieneos' and the your signature affixed on it for your engagement. All the documents will only need to be fully filled out then we go through all the necessary government and royal stamps then the process is complete."

Aurum stared at Xenos for a few seconds, his eyes started showing surprise, confusion then eventually anger. He then asked with gritted teeth, "And how were you able to get my signatures on all those documents? I don't remember reading through or signing any of them?"

Xenos replied, "It is one of the documents you signed a month ago when I presented to you the things you needed to sign to settle your household's affairs. You indeed signed it without reading all the documents in the stack at that time."

Aurum replied with anger, his eyes starting to produce tears, "That's because I trusted you that you won't trick me like this! You did not mention about any documents pertaining to an engagement. I did not even know that my parents have already chosen a partner for me! Why would you betray me like this, Xenos?!"

Xenos kept his head down and stayed silent. I cut their argument by addressing the royal attendant, "Kind sir, you can leave to finalize the documents. We will need some privacy as there are some things we need to clarify with each other, please."
