Chapter 259 - Negotiations at Zanahavre (Part 6)
He nodded once and threw the box containing Laerad's orb towards me as a sign of his sincerity and acceptance of the deal. I told him that I will be taking the other compensation based on our deal today as well. I warned him that it may cause a bit of a commotion but I assured him that no one will get hurt. He looked confused about the compensation I was talking about but he still nodded to show his agreement on what I was about to do.
I walked near the barrier right in front of Nastur who looked the most distressed out of the 5 brothers. He's using different parts of his body as well as his mana to try to reach his father. I snapped my fingers and Peony gradually fell towards the table sound asleep. His sons panicked even more as they saw their father lose consciousness. With how fearful they looked, I think they thought I killed him.
I snapped my fingers again and everyone in the room except Peony's five sons fell to the ground unconscious. The five young men wanted to check the others but they found themselves frozen in place. I raised my hands and they were lifted from the ground and was brought towards me.
After being lifted, the five men were stunned and immediately tried to use their mana to get out of the enchantment that was binding them. Their efforts proved to be futile as I easily pulled them through the barrier and then nearer to me with no issues. Once inside the barrier, they became even more frantic to get out of the bind, wanting to check their father's well-being this time.
I stood up and spoke to them, "He's just asleep like everybody else here. You won't be able to get out of that bind either without my permission so save your strength." Nastur screamed angrily, "What more do you want?! I saw my father give you the orb! Why can't you just leave immediately?!"
I smiled at him and answered, "Yeah, the orb is already with me. As for you, you better calm down, LILY. Your father and I had an agreement and I brought you all here to fulfill a part of that agreement. I just need something valuable from each of you."
One of the guys with dark brown hair with streaks of yellow and white (Daffodil) asked coldly, "We don't know anything about that agreement. You so conveniently put our father asleep so we can't ask him about it. Everything you did is so untrustworthy. Why should we cooperate with you?"
The way they talk was so similar to each other. I guess being audacious runs in the family or maybe it is just from their mothers' side. Peony looks quite of a good and polite fairy to me.
Since they have been talking to me sarcastically from the start, I might as well return in kind so I replied, "At this point, do you even have a choice? Can you even move to stop me from taking what I need?"
My questions were answered with silence and each of them started to turn pale as they realized how real my threat is. Now that they were bound and inside my barrier, they really have no way to stop me.
I approached Nastur first and placed my hand on top of his womb. I don't have to remove any of their clothes so I just went and started the harvesting process. Since I did not do intimate things with them, it would not trigger the seal that makes them a vessel. I instead plan to place a seal of protection on all of these guys since I promised Peony to protect them.
I felt Nastur shiver under my hand as he stuttered, "What- what are you trying to touch?! What do you-" Even before he could finish his sentence, his body stiffened and his eyes became unfocused. I started harvesting a ripened seed from his body as well as some mana and life essences to nourish the seed that would be fertilized into a baby fairy in the near future.
It only took me less than a minute to take everything that I need from Nastur and place the protection seal. As I removed my hand from Nastur's womb, he passed out and fell towards me. My mana bind released him gradually until he was laying in my arms. I gently placed him on a sitting position and leaned him over towards the table, similar to Peony's sleeping position.
I smiled victoriously and then looked at the other four guys. They looked back at me in fear. They must be thinking that Nastur was dead. One of the guys who had hair in varying shades of blue (Lotus) asked, "What did you do to our brother?!"
I did not immediately answer the guy's question since I am busy securing my first harvest inside my storage space. I did expect him to pass out though since I took 80% of his essences in one go. I think I will just give all of them potions that increase recovery speeds later.
I started walking towards the last guy who spoke and when he was only a step away from me, I answered with a soft voice, "You would know in a bit since I have decided you are next. You will realize what I took from you as soon as you wake up later. Keep whatever you discover a secret okay?"
I approached each man starting from the guy with blue hair then the other feisty guy with dark brown hair that looked at me with hate in his eyes then the last two who kept quiet during the whole speedy harvesting process. As expected, all of them ended up unconscious so I placed all of them around the table similar to Nastur's sleeping position. I made them drink porions as well to get them back in tiptop shape the soonest.
After I am done with my tasks, I am now as cool as a cucumber. I waked up Peony and when he saw everybody was unconscious, he immediately stood up and ran to check each of his sons. I assured him, "They were all just sleeping. I already took the second part of my compensation as per the agreement. Only the rent remains which will start by the time you relocated. The ring I lent you has a function for you to contact me. Just call on to me through that ring if you have questions."
I gave him a few more instructions about his pending move out of this sanctuary and things he needed to remember. I bid goodbye to him and teleported straight to the gazebo in the world tree realm.
Leaving the huge commotion behind, I reappeared in the gazebo where a Laerad who is currently reading a book is calmly staying. I walked towards him and sat on the seat across from where he was. He looked up at me and asked, "How did the negotiations with Zanahavre go?"
I looked at him and leaned on to my chair comfortably. I answered him with another question, "Why didn't you just listen in so you don't have to ask me now?"
He clicked his tongue and replied without lifting his head from the book he's reading, "I don't want to meddle with someone's private conversations unless a dire situation requires me to."
I smiled at him and used a teasing tone, "Oh my! You're such a good boy, aren't you? Did you like the gifts that I sent you?"
He lifted his head and looked at me, "I already saw them and I do like them. Thank you so much. I felt like they are more of a bribe than gifts though."
I pretended to feel hurt about his comment and said, "If you don't want them, just throw them away. You don't have to pretend and tell me they're nice. I guess this is the only thing you want after all." I then pushed the box containing the orb from the fairies towards his side of the table.
I stood up from my chair and started walking out of the gazebo towards the covered walkway to the side of the lake. As I reached halfway through the walkway, I spoke out loud and said, "The King of the fairies accepted the deal as well as all my conditions. I am going to drop by at Aelorus' place for something I need to safekeep. I'm leaving."
I saw his stunned face, mouth agape and all on my peripheral vision as I left the gazebo. He must have been surprised by my hurt reaction and me getting the orb back this quickly. I smiled and walked away faster. Laerad eventually stood up to follow me when he got over his stunned state.
He shouted while running after me, "I said I liked all of your gifts! Why would I throw them away?! Wait! Luna! Hey!" Just when he was about to touch my back, I teleported to the room of beginnings inside the Eieneos castle.
As I appeared right inside the room of beginnings, I saw that it was devoid of anybody and Aelorus' is nowhere to be found. I looked around the prepared receptacles and started thinking about the magic of birthing children through them. If children are born here, I can closely monitor their growth, health and even the time of incubation as needed.
Currently, there were 24 empty receptacles floating around the room. There was a dim light orb marking the spots where they are. The place looked abandoned and gloomy since nobody has chosen to use its main function. It has been turned to a milk factory recently for the twins.
For some reason, something inside me is coaxing me to fill up this place gradually. I breathed in and out heavily while closing my eyes tight. Once I place the essences here, it will be a done deal. I won't be able to take the decision of birthing the children back.
I am still having second thoughts but the mission is compelling me to take this step. I also want to consider the fact that I don't want to sleep around with random people and end up marking vessels everywhere. I don't want to be tagged as a profligate at all and I am quite happy with the husbands I have chosen for myself.
