They represent positive and negative sides of the primitive world, where Shuras are positive and Ashuras are negative.

But actually it is not correct because there are good people in Ashuras and bad people in Shuras as well.

It is only a collective statement representing the majority of them in a group.

Now he got connected to this and the subconscious soul started to mend the body in that direction.

Well he is a villain and going to the side of Ashuras is not a bad thing.

The bloodline of Ashura is also the thing that actually caused the first dragon to go berserk.
