Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss

Chapter 467: Shadow Dragon

Daewon stepped forward onto the floating stone, his boots scraping against the edge as he stared at the sky, his eyes fixed on the massive black dragon.

The air around him grew heavy, thick like a storm was forming from his body alone, and without saying a word, he closed his eyes and let his mana flow.

At first, it was like a slow ripple, the kind you see when you drop a stone in still water, but then it grew faster, sharper, wilder.

His power started leaking out of him, spilling into the space around him, and the other awakeners near him Seoha, Alexa, Lee Min Joon, even Gideon jumped back at once, landing on separate stones or floating platforms, shocked at what they felt.

The wind shifted, twisted, and the air around Daewon exploded as a wave of red-orange mana burst from his body like fire cracking through the sky.

His hair, normally falling messy over his forehead, now rose slowly as if caught in an invisible flame, dancing and floating, wild and untamed.

"He's going berserk," Choi Jieun muttered,

Daewon's aura was not smooth or controlled it pulsed like a heartbeat, but in chaos. It waved, surged, and twisted violently, as if the mana itself was alive and angry, wanting to tear through everything near him.

His eyes opened, and they were no longer calm.

They were glowing like burning coals.

Cracks of red light danced over his arms, his fists tightening around the handle of his hammer that now looked like it couldn't contain the energy building inside him.

The massive black dragon in the sky finally turned its head fully, its huge golden eye locking on the floating stones where the awakeners stood, and for a moment, everyone went silent, because in that single eye was a reflection of all of them, so small that they looked like tiny dust under the sun.

Daewon body, glowing in crimson light, began to grow larger, his muscles bulging as if his skin could barely contain the power inside him, and then with a loud tearing sound, the sleeves of his top ripped open, his back stretched wider, and veins of mana glowed over his arms like molten lava.

From his normal size, he expanded until he stood a monstrous fifteen feet tall, his giant shadow stretching across the floating stones like a mountain, and now even the black dragon's eye didn't look that big next to him.

Before the others could react, a sudden roar shook the sky, and three dragons smaller than the black one but still terrifying broke from formation, their wings spread wide, their mouths glowing with fire and lightning as they dove straight toward Daewon like angry beasts trying to crush an insect.

The air cracked with their speed as they closed in, their screeches loud enough to make others flinch, but Daewon didn't move yet. He stood firm, looking at them calmly, and then with one loud grunt, he bent his knees, the stone under his feet cracking, and launched himself into the sky with a blast of force.

He moved like a missile, body spinning slightly as he rose to meet them.

"HRRAAAAGH!!" Daewon roared, his right fist glowing hot red, and with all his momentum, he slammed it directly into the face of the first dragon.

The sound of the impact echoed like a thunderclap, and the dragon's head snapped back as its neck cracked loudly, blood spraying in the air as it flipped and crashed into the other dragons.

Daewon twisted mid-air, both fists glowing now, and brought down his left fist onto the back of the second dragon as he passed over it, crushing its spine with a horrible crack that made even the people below gasp.

The third dragon opened its mouth to blast him with fire, but Daewon roared louder than it and kicked it in the jaw with a spinning heel, the force sending the beast tumbling through the air, its wings broken and screeching in pain as it plummeted toward the trees below.

One by one, the dragons had been taken down, each with a single hit.

On the walls, the awakeners and knights shouted in amazement, the ground rumbling from the fallen dragons crashing into the forest and shaking the skies.

"THAT'S OUR BERSERKER!" Seoha shouted, swinging her sword and laughing wildly, full of energy again.

Daewon stood tall on the back of one of the flying dragons, his giant feet planted firmly on its scaly back as he gripped the sides of its horns to keep it still, the wind blowing around him, but he stood proud and unbothered, even when the dragon twisted and roared beneath him.

He pulled its head straight so he could face the massive black dragon.

"Look at this," Daewon muttered, grinning, "I got one of yours. What are you gonna do about it?"

But before he could say more, the dragon he was riding suddenly screeched in pain, its wings shaking violently as if something deep inside was burning or tearing apart.

Daewon frowned and looked down, sensing something wrong in its body. Without hesitation, he jumped off, flipping through the air, and just before he fell too far, a massive platform of stone floated under him, catching him smoothly.

Lauren stood in the distance, her arms glowing green, eyes sharp as she controlled the floating rock.

Then behind Daewon, the dragon he had just stood on suddenly let out one final, horrible screech and its body started to swell unnaturally.

The others nearby shouted warnings as the dragon exploded in the air, pieces of flesh and black blood raining down from the sky like a dark storm. Some covered their heads.

Others could only look up in disbelief.

"We have to do this all together," Alexa muttered, standing firmly on a stone platform, her hair and clothes flowing in the heavy wind, blood on her cheeks but her golden eyes steady.

Daewon stood up again on the floating stone, wiping blood off his shoulder.

At the same time, Choi Ji-eun floated nearby on her violet lotus petals, her hands out as she summoned more and more until a glowing tornado of petals and energy began to swirl around her, lifting others caught by the wind gently and pulling energy from the air itself.

Alexa stood quietly, her breathing deep, as she looked down at the twin weapons in her hands.

"I didn't want to use this," she muttered under her breath, then crossed the two weapons together and they merged in a brilliant flash of light, forming a single weapon, long and elegant, glowing gold with divine patterns carved across its blade and handle.

The others nearby were almost blinded by its glow.

"Hooo... you're gonna use the divine weapon," Seoha said as she appeared beside her, her eyes narrowed but a grin tugging at her lips.

"I have no choice," Alexa replied, her voice low. "But I won't last long. This takes too much mana."

Seoha rolled her neck, lifting her massive sword with one hand. Flames danced along its edges, fire so intense that the air around it shimmered.

Min Yoon-ji, not far from them, raised her scythe with both hands, dark mana swirling like smoke into the weapon, gathering at its curved blade, glowing with deep violet energy.

"We need to finish this fast," she said.
