Infinite System Inheritor Return From The Abyss

Chapter 328: Informing

Alexa was walking down the hallway when she was greeted warmly by Professor Sera and a group of students.

"Professor Alexa! Good afternoon!" Sera called out with a cheerful wave. The students followed her lead, bowing politely and greeting her as well.

Alexa smiled back. "Good afternoon, Professor Sera. Everyone."

Sera stepped closer, her eyes sparkling. "I'm treating the students to lunch today. Would you like to join us?"

Alexa shook her head politely. "I appreciate the offer, but I have something else to take care of. Maybe next time."

Sera smiled understandingly. "Alright, next time, then."

Just as they were chatting, Alexa's eyes caught sight of Nathan, Elshienne, Yoora, Minseok, and Hannah walking down the hallway. Their expressions were heavy, and it was clear something was bothering them.

"Did something happen?" Alexa asked, concern clear in her voice.

Nathan and the others almost walked past her before realizing she was there. Elshienne's eyes widened in surprise. "Ah! Professor Alexa!" she said, bowing quickly. The others followed suit, including Sera, who greeted Alexa again politely.

Alexa smiled back and leaned closer to Elshienne, whispering softly, "What's wrong? You all look like you just fought a dragon."

Elshienne sighed, glancing at the others before telling what happened.

Alexa's eyes widened in shock. "What?! That happened? Are you all okay?"

Elshienne nodded, though her expression was still troubled. "We're fine… but it was really intense."

Alexa rubbed her forehead with a sigh. "I can't believe it… First class, huh?"

Just then, Sera stepped back into the conversation with a cheerful smile. "So, Professor! Are you sure you don't want to eat with us? I'm sure it would be fun!"

Nathan and the others, now gathered around Sera, seemed to be slightly more at ease, though Nathan's expression was still dark. It was obvious Sera had also convinced them to join.

Alexa shook her head politely. "I'm really sorry, but I have something I need to do. Enjoy your lunch, though."

Sera nodded understandingly. "Alright then, next time for sure!"

Alexa waved them off, her mind still turning over what she had just heard. "Arrghhh! Seojun we already told you to be easy to them!"

Alexa made up her mind to visit Seojun. she headed straight to the dean's office to do what she have to, her heels clicking lightly against the floor.

When she arrived, she knocked briefly before pushing the door open. "Dean, Good aftern--

Her words stopped mid-sentence when she saw Seojun sitting comfortably on the sofa, a book in his hands, completely immersed in its pages. He barely glanced up at her entrance.

"Seojun!" she called out, her voice louder than she intended. "I heard what happened."

The dean, who was in the middle of organizing books on the large wooden bookshelf, jumped in surprise, nearly dropping a thick volume. He turned around, blinking at Alexa's sudden entrance. "Ah, Professor Alexa… good afternoon," he greeted, his voice a bit shaky from the surprise.

Seojun, on the other hand, didn't even look up. His eyes remained fixed on the book in his hands.

Alexa stepped further inside, her gaze fixed on Seojun. "You really went that far during the first class?"

Seojun finally flipped a page and answered in his usual flat tone, "They need to learn."

Alexa crossed her arms, looking at him with raised eyebrows. "Learn? Or are you just pushing them too hard?"

The dean cleared his throat nervously, sensing the tension. "Um, perhaps we could all sit down."

Before Alexa could press further, she took a deep breath and forced herself to calm down. Her eyes softened a little as she turned to the dean. "Are you aware of it, Dean?" she asked,

The dean shook his head, adjusting his glasses nervously. "I only found out after the security team informed me. They reported an incident... something about students engaging with Class-E beasts." He paused, glancing at Seojun, who still hadn't looked up from his book.

"Good thing nothing serious happened. But... Professor Jihoon," he turned fully to Seojun, "we called you here to discuss this. You can't just put students in that kind of danger without informing us first."

Seojun finally lifted his eyes from the book, his gaze calm and unreadable. "They need real experience. Observing from a distance isn't enough. They need to know how it feels."

The dean frowned, shaking his head. "That may be true, but we have regulations for a reason. If you want to conduct that kind of training, you need approval first."

Alexa crossed her arms and nodded in agreement. "Seojun... you can't just throw them into life-or-death situations on the first day. They need to be prepared first."

The dean sighed deeply. " I expect you to follow protocol. If you want them to experience real danger, we need safety measures in place. I won't allow it otherwise."

Seojun stayed silent for a moment, "Fine. Next time, I'll let you know."

The dean looked a bit relieved, nodding. "Thank you. That's all we ask."

The dean watched Seojun leave but then turned to Alexa, his eyes curious. "So, what brings you here suddenly, Professor Alexa?"

Seojun, who had just stood up, was about to head out the door, but Alexa reached out and grabbed his arm, pulling him back to the sofa. "Sit down and listen too," she said firmly. "You should be aware of what's going on."

Seojun sighed, clearly not thrilled, but he dropped back onto the sofa with a soft thud. Without another word, he opened his book again, flipping to the page he left off, ignoring the conversation as much as possible.

Alexa rolled her eyes at his behavior but didn't press further. She stepped forward and open the Global system hologram.

The hologram shifted as Alexa swiped her hand over the display, causing the images of various creatures to slide across the screen. The dean stepped closer, his eyebrows knitting together with concern.

"They're coming earlier than we thought," he muttered, eyes fixed on the flickering projections. "Wasn't it just the Neremaids before? Now there are more?"

Alexa nodded, her expression serious. "Two weeks ago, we confirmed the existence of Neremaids from an island," she began. "They were using Awakeners as food, treating the Neremaids as deities. The locals worshipped them, completely hypnotized."
