Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 835: Rough changes

"I am not sure what I can do with this kind of information, but I will keep it in mind," Isa said. "Consider this a fair trade. Also, you probably don't have to worry about the higher ups here anymore. You are an ally of the sea folk, but you have gotten weaker compared to most people, so they will leave you behind until you accomplish something."

"I am starting to get tired of hearing that all the time," Rain said. "It feels like everyone has been waiting for the chance to call me weak."

"What are you going to do?" Seara asked. "You know which direction Terra is, but the others weren't around and that is worrisome."

As Rain thought about things, a sharp feeling of anxiety pierced through him. The mere thought that his parents, Terra, Danny, and Annie might have split up as well troubled him deeply.

Another pressing issue that annoyed him was the urgency to act swiftly in locating the shield and potentially reuniting with his loved ones. The necessity to move quickly clashed with his growing connections in the present—the budding relationship with Sealyn being a particularly sensitive point.

Rain understood that departing abruptly would disrupt the connection he had just begun building with Sealyn. Despite her understanding nature, he recognized the delicate balance of their relationship and the need for caution. Leaving suddenly might strain their bond and jeopardize the positive progress they had made in reconnecting.

"I will spend one week here and try to learn how to make this relic as well, I have some ideas on how to do the same," Rain said.

"That is something I would like to see," Isa said. "Maybe it won't be worth the hassle considering that I will have to see her annoyed expression."

"You win some and you lose some," Rain said.

"I am going to fight tonight, so I hope that you will behave," Seara said. "I will know that if you come here without me."

Seara's demeanor took on a peculiar shift, her eyes glinting with an intense fervor that bordered on something unsettling. As she spoke, there was a wildness in her eyes, a fervent determination that seemed to mask a deeper intensity simmering beneath the surface.

With a tone that hinted at possessiveness, Seara expressed her real feelings, though her words carried a hint of fervor that hinted at something more than mere affection. There was an undeniable possessive undertone that tinged her words, revealing a possessiveness that verged on the edge of something more dangerous.

Rain couldn't help but feel a sense of concern stir within him at the intensity emanating from Seara. The fervor in her eyes and the possessive tone in her words raised a red flag in his mind. He couldn't shake the worry about what might come after that…

Despite the unsettling nature of Seara's display, Rain recognized her enduring love for him, albeit in a way that felt different from the typical warmth and affection. It was a kind of love intertwined with possessiveness that didn't look very healthy.

After living Isa's tent, Rain and Seara split up, and Rain returned to the cliff to think about what he just saw and analyze the technique that Isa showed him.

Considering what Rain had seen, the relic worked absorbing his mana and also the information of the mana of the person he wanted to find and once that was done, the location of the person would be showed thanks to a low level of clairvoyance and the relic would break pointing to the direction of the mana was tracked.

"I don't know any skill that is similar to clairvoyance, but I need to discover how to replicate the relic and then decrease its size to be able to locate them faster," Rain thought.

The best thing that Rain could do was to use his mana to try to track everything under the snowstorm, but that would overload his brain with the location of all the living beings in it…

"Wait… maybe I don't have to do that," Rain thought.

It was a bit risky, but if Rain could alter his domain to check the direction the mana is coming from when he uses his first seal… he could find Terra's location quite fast. He probably shouldn't do that for too long and too often since she is fighting against the beast people for some reason.

"Maybe they are fighting over that territory, but considering what I had heard… they probably want revenge agaisnt those that caused problems to us before they can face the dragons," Rain rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

Terra, much like Asche and Liss, appeared untouched by the passage of time in terms of aging. However, the years had left their mark on her in a different way. While her appearance didn't exhibit signs of aging, her once polished and composed demeanor had transformed into something more rugged and weathered.

In the past, Terra had maintained a more refined appearance, often keeping her hair neatly trimmed to shoulder length. But now, her hair cascaded far beyond her waist, flowing freely in an unkempt manner. Her hair, usually pristine and well-kept, now appeared wild and untamed, adding to the overall impression of a more rugged appearance.

This change in Terra's appearance went beyond her hair. Her overall aura had shifted as well. The calm and tidy aura she once exuded had transformed into something more akin to a female barbarian—untamed, unrefined, and fiercely independent.

Despite her disheveled appearance, there was an undeniable aura of strength and capability surrounding Terra. Her appearance might have taken on a rougher edge, but it only emphasized her prowess and ability. She carried herself with a sense of raw power… just like Rain in the past.

"She decided to follow in my footsteps through and through… at least she looks fine, thanks to her healing skills," Rain thought. "Danny and Annie should be the same… as long as they are fine, everything is fine. In any case, she might do something worse than breaking my nose when she finds me…"
