Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 828 Confidence

"Can't say that I don't understand him, besides, while his brain might be useful, he isn't the type to command from the backline," Seara said. "Even more so considering that Sealyn was going to fight in the frontlines."

"... I suppose that is for the best, you are going to look for Terra, your parents, and Danny and Annie, right?" Seadrei asked. "Then what?"

"First, I will gather Intel and consider my options, I can't decide anything before that," Rain said.

Seadrei and the others had some curiosity about Rain's incredible feat of evading death, considering his miraculous return after a century of absence. The mere fact that Rain had managed to survive against overwhelming odds and seemingly cheat death was curious.

However, despite their burning curiosity, a sense of suspicion prevailed among them. They understood that whatever method Rain had employed to avoid death was not a practical or useful solution.

The considerable time lapse between Rain's disappearance and reappearance served as a clear reminder of the impracticality of employing such a method. They refrained from questioning Rain about the details of his survival, realizing that whatever process or technique he had undergone was far from viable for their current predicaments. There was also the fact that might not have the necessary skills.

"... We can tell that the center of the storm is on that continent," Seadrei said after studying Rain for a short while. "Still, we realized that the number of dragons in the East are a bit smaller. Considering the old map of the world, we can tell that something is happening on the beast's territory. That should be a good starting point to start."

"Thanks for the tip, I am still going to break your jaw, though," Rain said. "I am going to depart as soon as I talk with Sealyn for a bit."

Seadrei nodded and then Rain and Searae left the tent. The place got eerily silent while they watched those two disappear in the horizon and then Seadrei left out a sigh. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire

"Are you fine with that?" Seadir asked.

"Yes… for now, few people know about his return, so that can eventually become a weapon to us," Seadrei said. "Besides, while he didn't get that much stronger, I can tell in his eyes that he got a lot more knowledge and he has some ideas in mind… he won't fight alongside us for now, but eventually we will be able to count on him."

Seadir also hada significant level of trust in Rain, acknowledging his capabilities and potential. However, there lingered a skepticism in Seadir's mind regarding the level of trust his own father placed in Rain.

Over the past fifty years, they had staked much of their hopes on Sealyn's leadership, placing a significant bet on her ability to steer them toward victory. Thus far, Sealyn had proven herself, showcasing her prowess and effectiveness in guiding their forces, making significant strides and displaying promising potential in steering them through their conflicts.

Seadir, in observing Rain's detachment from their cause, couldn't reconcile his father's unwavering trust in Rain with the seemingly opposing focus on Sealyn's leadership. The notion that Rain's priorities might not align with their broader goals, particularly when compared to the role Sealyn played in their strategies, left Seadir deeply troubled.

"For now, I have to change those skills that are what makes the dragons stronger," Rain thought. "Seara said that Sealyn won't listen to me as I am now, so I have to at least gain some confusion."

It was noon, Sealyn should wake up around mid afternoon, so Rain had a couple of hours for that. While he wasn't letting depressing thoughts get in his way, he still had to do something about his confidence… he meditated for a while on that cliff and since he was motivated, he eventually came up with a good idea.

"If you are going to let me do what you want for your own convenience, then don't regret this later," Rain thought.

Level 10: Skill Synergy - Increases the effectiveness of using multiple skills simultaneously, aiding skill growth. For every skill used at the same time, they gain the number of skills used multiplied by ten percent as bonus of experience.

Level 15: Parameter Boost - Upon a skill leveling up, gain a bonus to related parameters of the skills. Higher levels increase the bonus in parameters by one point for every ten levels.

The diligence path now increases your parameter by twenty points per level.

All parameters increased by one hundred points.

"Hehe, not bad," Rain thought. "The diligence path has a much potential as the seven deadly sins paths," Rain thought.

Rain had those ideas considering the skills necessary to use several skills at the same time, and the system accepted the fact that some ability was necessary to pull that off. So, it accepted Rain to grant more experience.

As for the parameter boost, Rain imagined that such a thing was a possible as well and it agreed with the diligence path. The logic behind it was a bit difficult to explain, but in simple terms it was another theory to reward those who worked diligently on their skills.

Rain also thought that his self control of not pulling down Seara after not seeing her after so long would give him some skills in that field as well… but it seems that his worldly desires were too strong and the system didn't accept only that level of willpower.
