Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1423: Hidden motives

In the next moment, a massive hand fell on Rain and pushed him backward with unforgivable force… still, the machine god soon felt some resistance as his hand began to slow down. By increasing his size and gaining the energy of two planets, it looked like he had grown a bit stronger.

Before Rain could try to push the hand away, the machine god retreated his hands and then checked Rain… his body was fine, and so was his sword, which he used to block the attack. Immediately, Loks realized that Rain's parameters had increased a lot, but it also looked like the mana of the planets had become more efficient and pure for some reason.

The machine god fired a dark beam of purple energy at Rain, and this time, he blocked the attack with his sword… much to Lok's surprise, Rain was left completely unscathed, and the blade didn't look like it had grown heavier.

"How is that possible… ice shouldn't be able to cancel gravity."

"If you want to, you can install some more memory on your brain in order to do the math about this problem," Rain shrugged. "Still, I doubt that you will be able to find an answer to this problem since you can't do anything unless you have data about it. You are just an over-glorified giant toast. It is time to send you to be recycled."

Loks put his hands together and then swung them down to smash Rain to death… an attack of that level should have enough kinetic energy and mass that probably could destroy medium-sized planets in a single moment… and the machine god felt the impact when it hit Rain. Still, he soon noticed the weight of his attacks decreasing and his strength of the motion vanishing as well.

When the machine god checked his hand, he realized that there was no mark there… Rain just blocked the attack effortlessly. He had no idea how… having a larger body didn't mean that his processing speed was much better, after all.

"Is that it? With all the knowledge that you stole, is this all?" Rain asked while spinning the ominous sword in his hand. "I am soooo disappointed…"

For the first time in its existence, Loks was completely dumbfounded. He never experienced something like that before… he had the data of other beings facing the machine gods and their minions and showing the exact same expression, but he didn't know how to process that.

"Is this frustration?"

"Bingo," Rain said.

"Is this anger?"

"Bingo again," Rain smiled.

"Am I… exasperated for witnessing a failure for the first time?"

"Jackpot," Rain said. "Back in my time, AI had developed to the point that it was being produced to fool lonely men into spending their money on girlfriends that didn't exist. I was lonely, too, but I released all that frustration into a sandbag. It did wonders. Nevertheless, for an AI of that level, you aren't half bad."

Being made as a joke by an inferior creature was very annoying… it reached the point that Loks began to shake in exasperation. The purple aura inside his body began to overflow… it seemed that he was starting to produce the corrupt energy as well somehow… he shouldn't have added any organic matter into that body, after all.

In the end, Loks moved his arms to the side, and then the void of space apparently began to shake. Rain looked around in confusion and then soon saw some points of light on the horizon approaching… the enemy decided to bombard him with celestial bodies…

Controlling space to harness the power of gravity involves manipulating the distribution of mass and energy in a given region of space-time. Gravity, as described by Einstein's theory of general relativity, is the curvature of space-time caused by mass and energy. By understanding and manipulating this curvature, one could potentially influence gravitational forces.

Some theories, such as string theory or braneworld scenarios, posit the existence of additional spatial dimensions beyond the familiar three dimensions of space and one dimension of time. By understanding and manipulating these extra dimensions, one might gain control over gravity in ways not possible in our ordinary three-dimensional space.

Rain didn't know the details, but he assumed that was what was going on… he didn't have time to think too much about it, but soon he realized something. The overseer, the spirits of the planets, and even the machine gods they were all four-dimensional beings.

When Rain saw the overseer for the first time, he had an inexplicable amount of mana… it was because he had over his control of all the mana in the world, since mana was added to Earth.

"Time to wake up," Elisabetha said.

The celestial bodies in the distance were gaining speed and getting bigger… it reached a point where Rain could see them now. They were the moons near the stations that his friends were attacking… he was glad to know that they were relatively close by but worried since the machine god could attack them at a moment's notice.

Rain held the sword, ready to attack the moons if he had to… but soon they disappeared after the space around them bent… in the next moment, they appeared behind the machine god, and then his ominous aura began to grow even more powerful than before…

The moons began to glow and then soon began to emit energy toward the machine god… As the machine god harnessed the energy of the moons, a transformation unlike any witnessed before unfolded. At its command, a colossal longbow materialized its form, an amalgamation of celestial brilliance and sinister corruption.

The half crafted from the energy of the moons, it glowed with ethereal luminescence, casting a radiant glow that seemed to pull at the very fabric of reality. Each fiber of this celestial essence pulsed with purity and cosmic power, resonating with the harmony of the universe.

"It is here… as expected, they are using the relics," Rain thought.
