Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1418: Feeling

The creature just touched Rain slightly, and then he was blasting away in the opposite direction while his body was spiraling in the air… his mind blanked for a moment due to the impact… it had been the heaviest attack he had taken.

"What the fuck was that… it was so slow but incredibly heavy…" Rain thought when he landed and began to slide in the snow. "I thought that I had seen everything, but..."

Rain's arms were hurting like hell and trembling, too. When he finally stopped moving, the creature was still moving very slowly toward him…

"That isn't a dragon, so I can't help you that much…" Elisabetha said.

Rain could feel a powerful magic presence from it, so he had no idea what it was… aside from the robotic creations of the machine gods, only creatures that had the same organic structure as the dragons should be in their ranks.

Since the enemy was approaching slowly, Rain had some time to prepare his attacks and think, and he started by using Charged Punch to attack the enemy… that was going to hurt his fist, but at least it was bound to damage the monster as well… it was impossible to think that such a creature would be tougher than the metallic structure that Rain was locked in a while ago.

At some point, Rain's fist began to hurt and emit a lot of steam thanks to the massive power charged in it, but he endured that until the creature entered his range, and then he launched his strongest punch.

As Rain's fist connected with the creature, a shockwave erupted, sending a powerful blast rippling in all directions. The force was so immense that it swept away every trace of snow in a staggering ten-kilometer radius, leaving behind a barren expanse where the fluffy white blanket once lay. The impact echoed like thunder through the air, shaking the very foundations of the landscape.

Meanwhile, the creature, struck by the ferocity of Rain's attack, staggered back, its colossal form momentarily faltering. With a deep rumble, it raised its massive right hand to its face, where Rain's punch had landed. The creature's movements were sluggish as if it were trying to shake off the stinging sensation of the blow, akin to a metal mountain being struck by an equally formidable force.

The sheer power behind Rain's punch had left an indelible mark on both the creature and the surrounding environment, a testament to the intensity of the clash between man and monster.

Rain ignored the pain in his own fist and then opened his eyes widely and then the creature took another step forward. He jumped backward with all his might and then saw the creature pointing both arms at him… Rain thought of teleporting away, but soon, the air froze around him, and he was enveloped in a giant coffin of ice…

The creature slowly approached Rain while he was completely frozen… despite that, he was still alive and well, but his brain was slowly getting more sluggish, and his thoughts were getting blurry.

Prolonged exposure to cold can lead to hypothermia, where the body loses heat faster than it can produce it. As body temperature drops, cognitive functions are impaired. Initially, this might manifest as shivering and confusion, but as hypothermia progresses, it can lead to slurred speech, poor coordination, and, eventually, loss of consciousness.

Cold temperatures can slow down nerve conduction, affecting the speed at which signals are transmitted between neurons. This can lead to delays in sensory and motor responses, as well as difficulties in processing information and making quick judgments… Rain quickly noticed that it was that what was happening and soon took action.

Rain's body was covered by the dark shadow of his own and Elisabetha's anger, and then the ice began to shake… It didn't take long before it exploded. He could feel his mind still a bit foggy, but it looked like the anger wasn't overcoming him since the enemy wasn't a dragon.

"Round two," Rain said and then put his hands behind, and then they began to glow.

In the next moment, Rain teleported behind the creature and then punched the creature countless times with light speed. Each impact hit the back of the creature's head, pushing it backward and, shaking the ground, and opening fissures in it.

The creature stumbled for a moment and slowly turned around. The creature tried to grab Rain with its open hands, but soon he teleported away from it and then reappeared behind… some cracks began to appear on its body, but the cracks began to glow and soon repaired themselves…

"Hmm, this feeling…" Rain thought. "This is weirdly familiar and dangerous..."

The creature suddenly raised its arms, and then countless giant ice spikes emerged from the ground… Rain was almost impaled countless times, but he sidestepped with Impulse while furrowing his eyebrows…

"Was I mistaken?" Rain thought.

Rain had a weird feeling before when the creature almost grabbed him, but things got different again. While he was hesitating, all the ice spikes emerged from the ground, and then they were fired toward him. Rain used Impulse to escape them and did the same over and over again while they were sewing the ground.

"I should trust my gut feeling, but I shouldn't make it too obvious to him…" Rain thought. "Even if my guess is right, it doesn't mean that things will be that much easier afterward… I know what I should do."

Rain began to control the shadow around his body and made that cover and focus on his didn't hand… the shadows began to spin and rotate as fast as they could, and then Rain assumed his charged punch stance.

The creature began to keep moving toward him very slowly, but soon charged for some reason in the last moment with all its might… even the machine god was surprised to see that happening… in the next moment, a massive explosion that shook the entire planet happened.
