Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1407: Results

That was a bit worrisome, but Rain decided not to press the matter that much. He realized that people rarely talked to him about their problems since they knew that Rain was always busy, so the explanation could be that. Hopefully, the reason for that wasn't anything serious, and the situation wouldn't become troublesome later…

Before long, Rain found the groups ready to depart on the mission, and he soon moved them to his pocket dimension. Around one hundred thousand of them would join in this operation, and his pocket dimension was big enough for it… at the same time, Rain decided to do an experiment and soon changed his path… with that many people in there, it would be interesting.

"Ugh… this is so annoying," Sealyn said while she was moving her fingers up and and down as if she was scratching something after most people went to the pocket dimension. "I am sick of waiting here…"

"If something happens, I will call you, but only once I made sure that the enemies won't be too dangerous," Rain explained. "There is another stance where I might call you all, but hopefully, it won't be necessary. Anyway, I will send as many reports as possible. See ya."

Rain used Teleport, and then he reappeared where the prison was supposed to be… at least the first zone. However, he found nothing there, and he landed on the void of space.

"What the hell…" Rain thought while looking around. "Did I incorrectly calculate the location of that planet?"

"You didn't," Elisabetha said. "Look around. Things changed here quite a bit."

Rain looked around and soon saw some massive rocks flying away in the distance… They were moving in all directions and away from Rain. He could only guess that the planet was destroyed by something, but Rain couldn't tell what… perhaps it had been the dragon god… still, he couldn't discard that the machine gods thought that those places had outlived their usefulness…

"I can't sense mana here… just when I thought that I could talk with the spirit of the planet for some help," Rain thought. "Maybe I should try to talk with the spirits of the solar system's planets… although, if they had been alive at some point, it should be much further away from the skill activation range."

"Sakaki is telling you that you should focus on what is important… by the way, there is something off with his voice," Elisabetha said.

"Is that so… don't say what, I don't want to raise my expectations," Rain said.

In the end, Rain soon teleported to the closest planets that were supposed to be part of the prison, but he didn't find them either… all of them had been destroyed. That was a bit too much to be a coincidence.

Although he had planned not to use too much mana all at once, Rain decided to check all the planets the group had been on while heading in the direction of the target. However, they all went missing… Rain was still able to teleport to their empty locations in the cosmos, but that was still worrying.

"They are doing something big yet again…" Elisabetha asked. "What now? Without knowing what it is, it can be dangerous to proceed."

"It is also dangerous not to investigate what they are up to," Rain said. "The others will say the same thing.

Elisabetha was fine with that, too; she just wanted to confirm Rain's thoughts and actions. In the end, he kept teleporting for a while, and eventually, they reached the area where they destroyed the enemy's bases in the previous mission… Rain finally could see some planets around… the space stations were being repaired, though. At least the energy webs were.

"... I can't see anyone or anything there, but the energy webs are moving," Rain thought after he activated Remote Viewing. "Telekinesis? Is one of the machine gods around and working on that?"

"I can't feel anything that Powerful in the area, and I don't think that they would use a body to repair some bases like that," Elisabetha said.

Although it wasn't definite… there was some danger for the machine gods to take over organic bodies… perhaps even inorganic bodies would be dangerous for them if the bodies were to be destroyed with them inside.

In any case, Rain used Magic Eyes and soon found a powerful presence in one of the bases that were being repaired… it wasn't a much higher level than him; it was a bit weaker, in fact.

"A minion, huh…" Rain thought. "I would like to capture more of them to add to my collection of Pokemon, but the goal is another for now."

Rain soon teleported to the closest planet and found that it was scorching hot as well. Rain, unfortunately, couldn't sense any mana in there or the presence of spirits.

"I guess the deeper we get to their territory, the fewer planets with life we will find… they will be pretty old as well," Rain thought.

The idea of gaining power while advancing through the enemy's lines was slowly fading away… perhaps the calm before the storm made Rain get carried away a bit, and it was time to focus on the game while moving forward instead of waiting for such conveniences. Still, that was starting to get a bit hard… since another one of Rain's plans was working.

The Temporal path leveled up.

Lvl 5: Time Dilation - Manipulates the passage of time in a localized area, slowing or accelerating its flow relative to the surrounding environment. Slow or speed up the passage of time in an area by a percentage based on the level of this skill. The bigger the area, the more mana it will be consumed to activate this effect.

"It worked, huh…" Rain thought.

"So, you were messing with that too…" Elisabetha said. "No wonder Sakaki's voice seemed a bit slower… the path can affect the pocket dimension even without mana?"
