Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1398: Overthinkinking

The Spiritweaver's Path: The Spiritweaver's Path is a sacred journey through the realms of the unseen, where practitioners commune with spirits, tap into the memories of places imbued with emotional resonance, and communicate with the essence of nature itself.

Rooted in reverence for the interconnectedness of all things, this path empowers individuals to navigate the spiritual landscape with wisdom and compassion. Wisdom + 200 per level.

Lvl 1: Spirit Sensing - Initiates the ability to perceive the presence of spirits and other ethereal beings, sensing their energy signatures and intentions.

Probability Path: The Path of Probability Insight focuses on the realm of uncertainty, where practitioners harness the power of probability to foresee potential outcomes and navigate the complexities of chance. This path equips individuals with the skills to analyze information, assess probabilities, and make informed decisions based on the likelihood of future events.

Lvl 1: Probability Perception - Initiates the ability to perceive the underlying probabilities inherent in events and situations, gaining insight into the likelihood of various outcomes. You can see a percentage of the chance of success of your actions when activating this skill.

After that, time began to flow as usual, and Rain's body began to relax once more. The overseer helped him unlock the paths of the aspects… it seemed that he thought of the same thing as Rain, or perhaps the dragon god did and created those paths.

"Did he appear again?" Sakaki asked. "Your aura changed in the blink of an eye, so I take that the overseer appeared."

"Yeah, he did… he is annoying as usual," Rain said. "Anyway, I have to report this to the others."

When the next meeting started, everyone heard of what Rain said, and they felt a bit conflicted about it… they used their heads quite a bit, but it had been a waste of time. Moreover, they didn't know if the overseer would help them again like that, but they would always consider that from now on, and that was troublesome.

"Anyway, we should at least be thankful that one problem was solved," Sealyn declared. "Now we just have to focus on the next step, which is to select the next target and cause as much damage as possible on the enemies."

While Sealyn was talking, Rain decided to play a bit with the probability path. The first skill was quite interesting.

He wanted to check if he could bother some people with magic while making sure that they knew that they wouldn't confirm that it was him… just by thinking that, he could see a percentage over the people's heads with the chance of success… it was like the chance of success of stealing items in a certain game.

11%, 24%, 78%...

"So, Dad. How can you use those new paths to help on the mission?" Sealyn asked.

"I am still checking that. The paths didn't come at the max level," Rain said. "They came at level one like usual, and they need one hundred times more experience to progress. I will level them up equally to obtain more skills faster. Still, I have the feeling that it will become useful pretty fast."

"In that case, perhaps we should take our time before the next attack since we have a defense system ready against the mana cannons," Sealyn said. "What do you all think?"

"I am fine with it; we need to give time for our troops to get stronger and tougher after all; the more time, the better," Regis said after nodding.

"I am not very fond of the idea of not deciding the date of the next mission as soon as possible, but perhaps that will be for the best," Esmeralda said. "We need some time to relax without having a clear countdown to make us all worry. This is a good excuse for that."

Everyone agreed with that, so the meeting came to an end pretty soon… while everyone was moving away from the tent of meeting, Rain kept thinking about what Esmeralda said. "They needed time… perhaps they would have more now, thanks to those new paths. However, Rain had the feeling that it wouldn't be so simple… since the enemies also had the same power by controlling the aspects.

Perhaps they will only despair more…

"No point in thinking negatively. I just have to focus on what I can do," Rain thought and then shrugged. " As usual, if all else fails, then perhaps the end was unavoidable. We fought hard to prevent it, and that was it. We did our best."

For starters, Rain equipped the temporal path after he returned to his pocket dimension. He didn't notice anything off with it, even though the first skill was equipped… as expected, it wouldn't be that easy.

"The first skill will only level up if I find unnatural time distortions or I use mana," Rain thought. "All the other skills also need mana to level up, but some are easier to use, and they basically have no cost."

The spirit weavers' path should be easy to level up… even more so if Rain teleports to dead planets. If anything, as long as they die recently in a few thousand years, Rain should be able to talk to their will, and then he will get the power of their species.

Since those paths aren't that hard to learn, everyone else will get stronger faster, so perhaps he should focus on that.

While Rain was thinking about that, Isa approached. Rain quickly saw her, and thanks to it, he was able to tell what she was thinking at the moment.

"Wassup, got tired of ignoring me?" Rain asked.

"You should know that wasn't the reason for that," Isa said. "I needed some time to think about what I am and my species, and I figured out that since we are basically the children of the enemies, I should avoid trying to be that proactive since I would look suspicious."

"You sure overthink things even though you should have more confidence than most," Rain said. "If we were the type that would worry about that, Esmeralda wouldn't be leading the human side."
