Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 1395: Unavoidable

"or they will keep learning too much about all of us and eventually come up with a countermeasure against our group," Sealyn added.

"That feels… almost unavoidable," Esmeralda said. "Since we are dealing with a group of enemies like no other."

"What do you suggest then?" Branden asked. "We don't have as nearly as much information about the enemies, and finding allies is as hard as it can be. Considering that we showed that we can capture some of the enemies and use them against the machine gods, it is unlikely that they will use their brainwashed soldiers or creatures that we can force to become allies."

"No matter what we do, we need to be cautious and have some countermeasures since to make us move according to their will, they just need to do a single thing: attack Earth," Seara said. "Before making anything big, we need to find a way to protect the whole planet from them."

It was almost amazing that the machine gods hadn't tried that until now… still, considering their behavior, they wouldn't waste resources until they confirmed that the group was indeed there.

"How about we hide the planet in a pocket dimension?" Seadrei asked.

Everyone looked like Seadrei and raised their eyebrows. That was simply insane… no pocket dimension could hide an entire planet. Besides, the earth needed to move, or things would collapse on it.

"The Earth's rotation generates centrifugal force, counteracting gravity to some extent and helping to maintain its spherical shape. If the Earth were to stop rotating, this balance would be disrupted, potentially causing significant changes in gravitational forces across the planet," Sakaki said.

"The rotation of the Earth creates day-night cycles and influences atmospheric circulation patterns, which in turn affect weather and climate. If the Earth stopped rotating, one side would be in perpetual daylight while the other would experience perpetual darkness.

This extreme temperature differential would lead to severe weather patterns, with scorching heat on one side and freezing cold on the other. The sudden cessation of Earth's rotation would have profound effects on the atmosphere.

The atmosphere is currently in motion due to the Earth's rotation, and if it were to stop suddenly, there would be massive air movements as the atmosphere tries to adjust to the new state. This could lead to hurricane-force winds and extreme turbulence. There are other things that would happen. Do you want to hear them?"

"No," Rain replied. "Those few examples are enough. Things wouldn't be pleasant, we got it."

"What about hiding at least the population?" Seadrei asked. "Even if only two people can use the technique, the population of the world still isn't that massive after so many wars."

"It will take a while, even for me," Rain said. "Even though I keep my pocket dimension active and, it keeps expanding. Hiding an entire planet isn't something that we can do either."

The group went silent since they didn't know what they could do… even though Rain had gotten insanely stronger, he knew that he couldn't hide the presence of a whole world. That made him realize that he still had a long way to go, even though he got back the title of strongest on the planet.

"If we can't do that, the only ones that can are the overseer and the dragon god, but they are pesky and self-centered assholes," Rain shrugged. "We will have to deal with that ourselves before deciding the next bigger step."

"I have more or less cataloged the skills of our allies, and I can say that they don't have anything that can be used here," Sakaki said. "Perhaps you should ask your prisoners for some tips or leads."

"… I guess I will do that," Rain said while rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

Rain was thinking that it was about time for him to lure the prisoners with the chance to work for him and receive some benefits, so that was a good chance for it.

"We will continue the meeting tomorrow from where we stopped," Sealyn declared. "Use this time to think of solutions for this."

The group didn't make that much progress that day, so it felt like they only found a big wall in their path… still, Rain couldn't deny that they needed something like that. The basics of war in all scales were to fool the enemy while weakening their forces and using as few resources as possible.

"... Let's see those guys and see what they have to say," Rain thought.

When Rain went to his pocket dimension, he found Loar and Hardt meditating… their mana was slowly increasing, but while getting stronger as Rain's minions were fine, they couldn't slack off on guarding the others.

"You guys sure like to get on my nerves…" Rain said.

"We aren't slacking off; everyone isn't doing anything, and they want to negotiate with you to join your side," Hardt explained.

That was very convenient, but Rain knew better than to accept such easy things at face value. While looking at the prisoners, they sure looked calm despite his eyes, which truly looked like he was very suspicious.

"Well, it's your lucky day," Rain said. "If you make yourself useful, I am willing to give you some freedom and the chance to fight by my side. First of all, I want some ideas or knowledge that we can use against the machine gods to hide from their sight. What do you guys propose for it?"

The former lords looked at each other while wondering what they could say in that situation… it was a bit hard, given that they didn't know what the machine gods could fully do. Working that knowledge… fighting back was pretty difficult.

"What about if you use the weapons of the machine gods against them?" The fly queen asked

The idea was simple… hiding from the enemy's sight would be difficult, but they could try to fight back the enemy's weapons like the mana cannons with their own mana cannons.
