Infinite Harem System: I Grow Stronger From Every Female Lead

Chapter 96: Basketball (1) (Filler)

The night went by quickly, and though Arthur didn't do it again with Eliya, he had stayed in her room until dawn.

"Now I'm all sleepy."

Arthur let out a loud yawn as he entered the compulsory sports building.

'I still don't get why sports are necessary for awakened.'

After "conquering" Eliya and receiving the "lore" reward, Arthur learned quite a few things about the state of the world.

One was that both Agrat and Tessia were in control of the body, but since they were two souls, they couldn't exactly cohabit.

That information alone explained why things were still peaceful even after the world reset.

The other information he received was about the other gods who served Sylvia, who were prepared to start a war as soon as Sylvia gave the signal.

Because of this, Arthur had sent a message to Sylvia first thing in the morning.

But war couldn't be avoided.

One day, either Tessia or Agrat would take full control of the body and uncover the inconsistencies in the world, then use that opportunity to purge everything.

Until then, Arthur had to grow stronger. Much stronger.

And he had actually discovered a new way to gain more power:

Finding females who shared the same affinity as him.

'If my control over time increased after conquering Eliya, then wouldn't the same thing happen after conquering other girls with similar affinities?'

Arthur pushed open the door of the sports building.

It was the same large arena Ha-joon had fought in before, only now it had been rearranged to resemble a basketball court.

Arthur looked around, instantly noticing he was early.

"Should I leave and come back later?" he asked himself but still stepped further into the hall.

Walking back would be too much of a hassle.

As Arthur took a seat, his thoughts drifted.

The Infinite Harem System.

That was the name of the system that activated when he entered this world.

But he couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't using it to its full potential.

During the attack on Falmouth City, he had nearly collapsed from running out of mana and force. But would that have happened if he had more wives, or rather, more female companions?

Before the reset, things had been different because his clan was ruled by his mother, but now he didn't have that advantage.

That meant he either had to get out there and search for new waifus or sit around and wait for doom to come knocking.

Arthur briefly closed his eyes. 'My rank isn't increasing, I don't know how to evolve my Demonic Dragon forms, and I'm short on energy. Just great.'

Arthur bowed his head and ruffled his hair. 'What should I do?'

'Should I go for an infinite harem?' he thought. 'I could definitely manage it, and it's not like I'm in a normal relationship anyway, so it wouldn't be cheating.'

He nodded to himself. 'I don't need more wives, but I do need more female allies.'

First, he needed to revive Ellie's and Cassie's memories.

Then, find Isabella, who had graduated from the academy and entered the higher institution.

After that, or maybe even before, he had to find more people like Eliya.

As his mind continued to brainstorm, a gentle voice snapped him out of it.

"Uhm... Is someone sitting here?"

"No," Arthur replied, lifting his gaze toward the speaker, only for his breath to catch.

'Cassie?'

Cassie forced an awkward smile as she sat beside him. "Hello."

Arthur nodded. "Yeah. Hello."

The two of them sat in silence at the top of the descending seats.

Only one word could describe the atmosphere:

Awkward...

Arthur glanced at her, about to start a conversation, but she beat him to it.

"Do you like swords?"

Arthur blinked. "What?"

She turned to him with sparkling eyes. "I mean do you like swords? Like swing-swing swords?"

Arthur, caught completely off guard by her phrasing, paused, then burst into laughter.

Cassie's expression shifted, as if she were on the verge of tears. "Why? Why are you laughing?"

Arthur stifled his laughter. "Sorry, sorry."

He couldn't believe he was getting nervous in front of Cassie.

Arthur leaned back into his seat and answered, "Yeah, I love swords. All kinds of swords."

Cassie recoiled slightly, her eyes drifting toward his trousers. "All kinds?"

Arthur followed her gaze and landed on his fly.

He quickly hugged himself. "What are you imagining, you pervert?"

Cassie's face turned crimson. "I'm not a pervert! I... I, uhm..." She looked completely flustered. "Sorry."

Arthur let out a satisfied chuckle. "Pervert."

Cassie punched his arm without lifting her head. "Idiot."

Arthur smiled at her response. "So, have you heard about the great Bruce Springsteen?"

Cassie's eyes snapped toward him. "What?"

Arthur looked away. "I mean the greatest swordsman to ever exist, the man who invented the Formless Sword Art."

Cassie's eyes welled with emotion, making Arthur's expression darken slightly.

Was it relief?

Happiness?

Sadness?

Or maybe longing?

Arthur looked away. "Yeah, have you heard of him?"

Cassie's smile lit up her entire face. "Mmhmm... He's my dad."

Arthur turned to her, feigning surprise. "No way."

Cassie began sharing different stories about her father and the things they did together during her childhood.

That made Arthur realize something.

He had never truly had such conversations with his wives before.

Before the reset, they had spoken and shared things, but nothing deeply personal.

'I really don't know much about them.'

He didn't know much about any of his allies, just like they didn't know much about him.

He smiled as she demonstrated the sword techniques her father had taught her. 'Maybe this isn't so bad.'

After Cassie grew tired from talking about her father and swords, he told her they should start training together from now on.

Soon, the entire arena filled up with students from the first and second years as the professor in charge of the session entered through the main door.

"It's Miss Eliya!" a student shouted.

"Damn, she's hot."

"Yeah, only Professor Blossom ranks above her."

Eliya gripped the magic microphone tightly, her gaze scanning the seats. When it met Arthur's, her cheeks flushed.

After a moment, she addressed the students.

"So, students, this might come as a surprise, but today we'll be having sports training."

She stepped forward as poles appeared on both sides of the wooden platform. "This class will teach you to use your energy with precision in different scenarios."

Arthur's eyes widened as the platform began to transform.

"That's..." he mumbled under his breath, "Basketball?"
