Infinite Harem System: I Grow Stronger From Every Female Lead

Chapter 77: The Only Official First Wife (2)

Silence lingered between the two for a brief moment before Arthur covered his mouth with his palm.

"Ouch, you bit my tongue."

Amelia stared at him, confused yet amused, then burst into laughter. "You're really crazy, Art."

Arthur smiled as she tried to hold in her laughter. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bite you." She cupped his cheeks and gently blew on his lips. "There, there. I hope my baby Arthur is alright?"

Arthur ruffled her hair. "You know I'm not a baby, right?"

She leaned against his chest, as if certain he would catch her. "Well, you're my baby."

Arthur froze as he felt a pair of eyes practically searing through him.

Turning to the left, he locked eyes with Sylvia, who had poked her head out of the door. The moment she saw him, she pulled back, then stepped into the room like she hadn't just been spying.

"Ahem." She cleared her throat, her cheeks flushed. "I see you've revived her memories."

Amelia raised her face from Arthur's chest, turned to Sylvia, then back at him. She suddenly gasped. "No way… did you pick up another girl in that short time?"

Arthur looked into her eyes. "What?"

She recoiled slightly. "So you've already found someone to replace us. It hasn't even been a week for you yet."

Sylvia hugged herself. "That's right. The young master picked me up, a mere slave, and did all sorts of things with me." Her cheeks reddened as she spoke like a girl suffering from Stockholm syndrome. "But I still love him anyway."

Amelia felt tears threaten her eyes. "And here I was, waiting for you. But instead of reviving my and my sisters' memories, you pick up another girl."

Arthur watched their exchange and let out a sigh of defeat, covering his face while rubbing his temples.

"None of that happened, Amy," he said, clearly worn down by Sylvia's antics.

He pointed at Sylvia. "That woman over there is the great goddess Sylvia, the one who ruled the universe for ages and ended the era of the ancient gods."

At the sound of his praise, Sylvia dropped the act and puffed out her chest. "Yes, I'm the great—"

But Arthur wasn't finished.

He immediately began listing all her negative traits.

"She's also an airhead, a gluttonous drunkard, foul-mouthed... Did I forget to mention brainless and a total idiot?"

Sylvia twitched at his words as Amelia's eyes widened.

"I never expected you to be the goddess." Then added with a small gasp, "And definitely didn't expect you to be so…"

Amelia didn't finish her sentence, which only made Sylvia feel worse.

She grabbed Arthur's arms and began shaking him. "Arthur! Tell her it's all a lie! Tell her I'm the great goddess!"

Arthur looked away as she shook him, his body swaying. "Who now?"

Sylvia kept shaking him until tears welled up in her eyes. "After," she sniffled, "hic, after everything I did for you, this is how you repay me? By making my subjects hate me?"

Amelia moved closer and gently patted her head. "Are you alright, goddess?"

Sylvia nodded, burying her face in Amelia's chest. Then she pointed at Arthur. "That meanie is the one at fault." She added, "I know I might drink a little too much, and I'm not the brightest of the bunch, but he shouldn't—"

Her tears flowed more freely. "He shouldn't have said it like that."

Amelia continued comforting her and shot Arthur a glare. "Husband, I never knew you were the type to bully women, especially your wives."

Arthur staggered back. "Hey, why are you siding with her? And who says she's my wife?"

Amelia patted Sylvia softly. "Don't worry, when Unnie comes back, she'll teach him a lesson." She glanced sideways at Sylvia. "Or maybe she'll just kill you."

Sylvia looked up. "Say what?"

Amelia smiled. "Nothing. I just said how much of a bad guy Arthur is."

Sylvia suddenly stood up and pointed at Amelia. "I like you, Amelia. From today onward—"

Arthur clamped a hand over her mouth from behind. "Don't fill innocent Amy's head with nonsense. And aren't you supposed to be the princess of the third continent?"

Sylvia struggled in his grasp, her feet lifting slightly off the ground. After some wriggling, she gave up, and he let her go.

Taking in an uneven breath, she answered, "Why would a drunk like me want to go back to the third continent?"

Arthur sighed and patted her head. "No need to sulk. You are the great and powerful goddess, and the prettiest being in the world, after all."

Sylvia looked up to meet his gaze. "You really mean that?"

Arthur nodded. "Why would I lie?" He added, "Though that doesn't change the fact that you're absurdly dumb and a chronic drunk with an IQ lower than zero."

Sylvia still nodded like she was thrilled by the half-compliment, while Amelia stood beside them smiling.

'Such a wholesome atmosphere,' Arthur thought.

"So, husband."

Amelia's voice brought his attention back to her.

She paused, then took the initiative to ask the question that was on everyone's mind.

"When are you leaving for the academy?"

Arthur had been expecting that question, though he didn't think it would come from Amelia.

After his mom confirmed that Ellie, Cassie, and Isabella were at the academy, he had already decided to go there.

But there was still no word about Nathira, and if he were to assume that, just like with Amelia, all his wives felt something missing within them...

Then it made complete sense that Nathira might still be in the North, the place she was once sealed in and where they first met.

Though, there was also the possibility that Nathira didn't exist in this era at all, since it was Sylvia who had sealed her, and Sylvia herself couldn't even remember why.

That meant Arthur's only option was to go search the deepest part of the North on his own.

Besides, there were still other things he had to take care of there.

After weighing his options, he finally replied:

"We'll leave for the academy in three days." He added with a grin, "But first, we have a bit of hunting to do."
