Infinite Harem System: I Grow Stronger From Every Female Lead

Chapter 144: Master Mind (3)

"So, missy, how exactly do you want to die?"

Amelia felt the cold beads of sweat trickling down her temples.

One step back, then another.

"Who said I will die?"

She said it, but her mind was in complete chaos.

'That guy is the god of sloth?' She struggled to keep from grinding her teeth. 'How am I supposed to defeat a god?'

Amelia wasn't weak. In fact, she was considered among the top 1% of awakened prospects in the world.

Awakened with an SS-rank spirit talent.

Reaching Graduator rank before 20. Signing a one-sided contract with seven high-ranking spirits.

She was a prodigy who only appeared once every century.

But that was it.

If she had been born in another era, maybe she might have become great.

But this era?

Not a chance.

Eric Daemon, who reached Graduator at 15.

Naza El Salvador, a young boy whose rank couldn't even be measured.

Even among those closest to her, it was worse.

Her Unnie was a greater dragon who could erase the continent with a single thought.

Her other sister was a goddess with power nearly equal to her Unnie.

Even those around her age were all prodigies. Some could even say that Ellie or Eira surpassed her talent.

However…

Flames danced in Amelia's palm.

It didn't matter whether she was the weakest or the strongest of her generation.

The flames swirled and spread across her skin before surging into the sky, shaping into a massive Phoenix.

Amelia stood tall, the gust from her summoning rustling her plain commoner clothes.

She raised a hand and took the stance of a sharp shooter as a bow of fire formed in her grip.

She, Amelia Val Arcain, was the official first wife of the Val Arcain family. As such, she had to win every battle she faced.

Even if not for herself, as long as her husband lived, she refused to lose to anyone.

"Come. I will defeat you and send you back to the abyss where you belong."

(Flashback)

It had been about three months since Beom-seok met Mi-kyong, and it was the best time of his life.

"Shit, shit." A young man muttered under his breath as he slammed the controller in a large arcade.

"How are you so good at this?"

Beside him, grinning, was a beautiful young woman with one side of her hair dyed blonde and the other jet black.

She wore blue contact lenses and, paired with her natural beauty, she was a sight to behold.

"Kikikiki, it seems little Bemmy doesn't know how to game?" she teased, hammering another key and yanking the joystick.

Beom-seok's eyes stayed locked on the screen. "Die!!"

He unleashed every attack he could on Mi-kyong's avatar, but she countered effortlessly and finished him with an ultimate move.

The screen lit up with two letters:

K.O

Beom-seok slumped over the machine. "How did I lose again?"

Mi-kyong leaned back, smirking. "I told you, you could never beat me. I'm your teacher, after all."

Beom-seok lifted his gaze to hers, his face heating up. "Can we… play again?"

Mi-kyong squealed and pulled him into her arms. "You're just the cutest, Bemmy."

"Mi, stop it." Beom-seok tried to push her away, but she was far stronger than him.

Over the past few months, his life had changed completely.

At first, he thought she was just another bully, or that if she found out about his family issues, she would leave him alone.

But the opposite happened. Drawn to his sad story, she became even closer to him.

At one point, he wanted to push her away, thinking she was only pitying him.

But that thought vanished when he discovered her truth.

Despite her beauty, Mi-kyong had no friends. People actually avoided her.

After digging around, he found out her parents were CEOs of one of Korea's biggest food companies.

Yet she was abused by her stepmother, ignored by her father, and abandoned by her brother since childhood.

She had grown up like him—family in name, but completely alone. To get attention, she did bad things: stealing, fighting classmates, skipping school.

But her parents just paid off the damages and kept ignoring her.

When Beom-seok learned all this, it didn't take long for him to open up. He realized they were alike. And now… they were closer than either had ever been with anyone.

"Hey, Bemmy…" Mi-kyong said suddenly. "Wanna do that again?"

Beom-seok lifted his head from her chest. "Uhmm… okay."

But all that—her past, her scars—none of it mattered now.

To others, Mi-kyong might have seemed like a troublemaker.

But to Beom-seok? She was his light.

His bright light in a dark world.

The only person he could connect with and the only one who could connect to him.

Mi-kyong grabbed his hand and tugged. "Okay, let's go do bad things."

Ever since they started hanging out, Beom-seok had been skipping school. But it wasn't like anyone noticed.

He was invisible.

Besides, he had become a wanted kid.

He and Mi-kyong ran through the streets until they reached the entrance of a luxury hotel.

"You know the drill, right?"

Beom-seok nodded.

He ripped his black shirt slightly, then staggered toward the hotel like someone starving.

As soon as the workers spotted him, they turned.

'Have to play my part,' Beom-seok thought, collapsing as if burning with fever.

Out of everything in the past three months, the strangest was that he and Mi-kyong were now living together.

Some might ask how two twelve-year-olds even paid for that.

Well, this was their way.

A young hotel worker, who had just taken the keys of an expensive car from a woman in red, turned to Beom-seok with a frown. Without hesitation, he marched toward him.

"Oi, beggar, what are you doing here?"

Beom-seok looked up with dilated eyes. "Food."

The man sneered. "Damn beggar doesn't know—"

He raised his hand to strike, but Beom-seok lunged first, snatching the key from his grip.

Before the man could shout, Beom-seok tossed the key into the air, far away, and sprinted in a zigzag.

Mi-kyong had taught him it was the most basic way to dodge a gun aimed at you.

The worker followed the key with his eyes.

It dropped toward a car, where a girl in a biker helmet was waiting.

The key landed perfectly in her hand, as if thrown by a pro athlete.

Before anyone could react, she started the engine, swung the vehicle around, and kicked open the other door.

Beom-seok leapt in as the car passed.

The worker screamed, "Security!"

Beom-seok was breathless, grinning wide. "That was insane!"

He turned to Mi-kyong, who had taken off her helmet—her face now dark.

"Mi…"

But he couldn't finish. Mi-kyong spun the car around, heading straight for the worker.

'He tried to touch my Bemmy.' Her eyes went cold. 'I'll kill anyone who dares get between me and my Bemmy.'

BAM.

Beom-seok's chest hammered beneath his torn shirt as he turned slowly toward Mi-kyong. "Mi… what did you do?"

Mi-kyong smiled, her eyes blank. "He tried to hurt you, Bemmy."

She smiled so warmly that, for a moment, her actions blurred in his mind.

"... I just made sure it won't happen again."

That day was the day they committed their first murder.

And it was the day their lives changed forever.

One more member was added to their little family—

Lee Jinwoo, the child who began their ruin.
