Infinite Awakening: My Exp Doubles Everyday

Chapter 224: Wedding [PART 2]

Xiang Yu stepped forward then, producing an ornate red box from his sleeve and passing it to Elder Guo discretely, though some of the high level cultivators immediately picked up on this. Their eyes being drawn to this red box that was letting out such a strange aura.

Elder Guo accepted the box and opened it. Inside, nestled on silk cushions, lay two rings that gave out an overwhelming aura. The spiritual pressure emanating from them was so intense that several guests involuntarily took a step back.

Elder Guo looked at the rings in shock. From the aura they were emanating, he could tell that they were no simple treasures. Still, not wanting to create a scene, he lifted a ring and elder Huang did the same.

As they slipped the rings onto each other's fingers, the artifacts pulsed once with golden light before settling into a steady, warm glow.

The sect masters watching in their own section now wore serious expressions, leaning toward each other in hushed conversation despite the joyous atmosphere around them.

"Did you feel that spiritual pressure just now?" whispered Sword Sovereign Bai Wu, his face creased with concern. "When those rings activated, the aura was unmistakable."

The Illusory Valley's sect master nodded grimly, her fan snapping shut with a sharp click. "Pseudo-divine artifacts, without question. But the energy signature..." She paused, glancing around to ensure no one else was listening. "It was definitely above Soul Formation realm."

"Above Soul Formation?" The Golden Edge Sect master's eyes widened in disbelief. "You couldn't possibly mean..."

The group fell silent, each lost in their own thoughts as they watched the happy couple, suddenly viewing the Azure Cloud Sect's Grand Elder in an entirely different light.

Li Yao was also taken aback by the feeling the rings gave her, pausing for a moment. [What are you doing? don't keep people waiting] the empress's words brought her back to reality, [You need to finish this quickly so we can eat] the empress spoke impatiently. In her mind, although she was taken aback by the level of the artifacts, she more so wondered what were the chances he had also broken through in his cooking, wouldn't that just be…

Li Yao walked over and presented two jade cups filled with spirit wine.

"Drink together, and let your fates be forever intertwined," she intoned.

The couple linked arms, drinking from each other's cups simultaneously.

Finally, Li Yao produced a red silk cord. She wrapped it around their joined hands as she spoke the final words of the ceremony. "By the laws of Heaven and Earth, witnessed by our sect and blessed by the cosmos itself, your union is sealed. May your dual cultivation bring prosperity to both your paths and strengthen our Azure Cloud Sect for generations to come!"

The crowd erupted in cheers and applause as she wrapped the cord and flower petals rained down from the sky.

[Done, its feast time now]

The celebration then moved to the great hall, where tables were filled with all sorts of foods. Xiang Yu, with the help of the cooking school students had outdone themselves, creating quite the feast. According to his arrangement, the hall was divided into different sections, each section having a different grade of spirit food.

The meals were arranged in artistic displays that were almost too beautiful to eat. The aromas alone were enough to make even the high level cultivators salivate openly.

Xiang Yu noticed Li Yao standing aimlessly in the open and walked up to her. "Last time, we didn't eat with the sect master. If we don't do so this time, they'll think we're looking down on them" He explained as he walked with her towards the table reserved for the sect masters.

[The world is against me fr]

As guests were guided to their seats according to cultivation level, the gift-giving ceremony began. The visiting cultivators presented cultivation resources, rare herbs, and all sorts of treasures. They seemed to really want to maintain good relations with the Azure Cloud Sect.

The afternoon flowed into evening with sharing of stories and some light sparing for entertainment. Young disciples watched the proceedings with aspirations of their own, while older cultivators reminisced about their own.

As the sun began to set, the newlyweds stood together at the center of the courtyard.

The disciples escorted the couple toward their new shared chambers in the peak of Mountain Heart Pavilion. Playful teasing and well-wishes followed them as they walked.

At the threshold of their new home, Elder Guo lifted Elder Huang in his arms and carried her across, while the crowd cheered one final time. As the doors closed behind them, the celebration gradually wound down, though many guests lingered to enjoy Xiang Yu's exceptional spirit food and share stories late into the night.

Xiang Yu and his secondary professions team cleaned up the last remnants of the celebration before he returned to the spirit vein.

Elder Huang sat fully on the bed at one corner, while Elder Guo sat on the edge with his legs still touching the ground. Both were lost in their own thoughts.

"I—" they both spoke up at the same moment, their voices overlapping in the quiet chamber.

They looked at each other in surprise, then Elder Huang's lips curved into an amused smile. "What are you so nervous about? It's not like this is our first time," she spoke teasingly.

Elder Guo's tension melted away at her playful tone. He climbed fully onto the bed and crawled toward her, placing his hand gently under her chin and lifting her face to meet his gaze. "Senior brother..." she began softly, but he shook his head with a tender smile.

"Aren't you forgetting something? It's husband now," he said, his voice warm with affection.

She blushed deeply and looked down, suddenly shy despite her earlier boldness. He raised her chin again, his touch gentle but insistent. "Aren't you going to say it?" he asked.

"Husband," she whispered, barely audible.

"What's that? I can't hear you," he said teasingly, enjoying her embarrassment.

She blushed even deeper, her cheeks matching her wedding robes. "Husband," she said more clearly this time.

"That's better," he spoke with satisfaction.

"What about you?" she challenged, recovering some of her earlier confidence.

He smiled, his eyes soft with love. "Wife," he spoke as he leaned in and kissed her tenderly…
