Chapter -01.
Chapter -1.
A young man lay on the bed, his eyes open and fixed on the ceiling, or more accurately on the translucent screen that had appeared in front of him.
[Congratulations to the host for being selected as the professor at the esteemed school Hogwarts; you have activated the character summoning system; please select a world to establish the system.]
"What does it mean by accepted? That old Dumbledore still hasn't sent me a response," the young man muttered as he read the text displayed on the translucent screen.
"Regardless, why is a system appearing in front of me after i've spent twenty-one years in this harsh world?" The young man, originally an earthling who had been transmigrated to this world after dying in a car crash, naturally understood the system and, more importantly, knew about the plot of the world about to unfold from this year.
Of course, he was referring to Harry Potter attending the legendary school Hogwarts, where he would be targeted for six consecutive years, and then, not satisfied with those attempts, the school would invite him back in the name of saving, almost succeeding in killing him if it weren't for that death stone or whatever it was called.
As the young man reminisced about his past, a loud knock on his house's window suddenly interrupted him. Startled by the noise, he turned to see a silly-looking owl that had crashed into his window. "Could it be that I've been chosen as the professor?" Since the young man resided in the non-magical world, the arrival of the owl at this early hour indicated that he had received a letter, or perhaps the owl was simply not very bright.
Regardless of the reason, the young man leaped out of bed and made his way to the window to let the silly owl inside.
The owl flew into the room with a brief cry as the young man opened the window, then landed clumsily on the bedside table once more.
After leaving the window open for the owl to leave, the young man turned back to see the owl, confirming that there was indeed a letter tied to its small leg. "So you were telling the truth," he remarked, gazing at the translucent screen that had now materialized in front of him.
[Please choose a world to set up the system], the system insisted, but the young man disregarded it and headed toward the owl that was now resting on the bedside table, breathing heavily. Upon seeing its pitiful state, the young man sighed and then, opening the drawer, retrieved a bar of chocolate and tossed a small piece to the owl to help it regain its strength.
Nibbling on the last piece of chocolate, the young man received the letter from the owl. The large H insignia on the letter intensified his joy. Without hesitation, he opened the letter and began reading.
"Dear Mr. Theodore Green, we are delighted to inform you that you have been selected as the Assistant Professor of History of Magic."
Reading the first few lines, the young man skimmed over the details. He was thrilled to rejoin the magical world after living as a muggle for four years. The later part of the letter included a list of items to purchase before departing on the Hogwarts Express, but Theodore refused to let this dampen his mood.
Theodore lay on the bed, clutching the letter in his hand, remembering how hard he had worked to persuade the old Dumbledore and McGonagall to allow him to become the professor of the history of magic. He believed that the subject needed a living professor who was willing to adapt and make the subject interesting for the students.
He wasn't intentionally rude to the old ghost of hogwarts, but he had certainly put in a lot of effort to make his point.
Now, holding the letter in his hand, he could confidently say that he had succeeded in convincing both of the old fogeys, but still he has long way to go, since he has achieved just small title of Assistant professor.
In any case, after enjoying his happy moments, Theodore redirected his focus to the system and clicked on the small box that had been prompting him for a while. "So, I need to select a world, huh? Let's start by checking how many options there are."
After he pressed the box, numerous name of worlds appeared before him. Instead of being real, these worlds revolved around movies or anime.
"This pirate one seems interesting, and so does the ninja one. But I think I'd rather choose the Harry Potter world, as I don't want to take unnecessary risks." With that, Theodore clicked the accept button, and the translucent screen went black for a moment, returning to its usual color just a few minutes later.
Ding. The designated world has been chosen. You have been given two character summoning cards as a newbie gift. Please use them wisely.
"Thank you for the reminder," muttered Theodore as he clicked on the newbie gift. In the next moment, two crimson cards with unique runes appeared in his hands.
[Note: When summoning the character, the host should specify the character's age or imagine the character in that age frame to achieve the best summoning result.]
As Theodore gazed at the cards, a box of information suddenly appeared in front of him. Upon reading it, he felt grateful this time, as he realized he might have wasted a summoning card otherwise.
"Okay, let's get started," Theodore thought about the instructions in the manual as he placed one card on the bed and held another one in his hand. He closed his eyes and imagined the character he wanted to summon for his aid. Then, he called out loudly, "Summon."
The foolish owl, still nibbling on a small piece of chocolate, observed the human and wondered what strange activity he was engaging in. Suddenly, a bright light shone from the crimson card that the human was holding, startling the owl in the process.
In its mind, the owl cursed at the foolish human, but then it suddenly witnessed something astonishing.
A surge of dark energy erupted in the room, causing Theodore, an advanced level wizard in gaming terms, to be pushed back slightly. In the next moment, a stunning woman, no older than twenty-three, with disheveled black hair and dark lips, materialized in the room.
