Blood splashed across Kuro's face as he slayed the last goblin inside the settlement.

5 Weeks Ago

After eradicating the bigger goblin groups, no more goblins came out of the settlement. Kuro had no choice but to enter the settlement. For 4 weeks, Kuro hunted the goblins without being caught. The stealth skill levels up multiple times, further enhancing his ability to hunt the goblin.

By the end of the 4th week, there were only 30 goblins left in the camp. Mostly the young and the elderly goblins.

Instead of killing them, Kuro decided to use them to increase his Shadow Possession Jutsu. Watching the goblins tremble in fear causes him to feel like ending their misery. However, he decided to continue increasing his mastery using the excuse of his own survival. Living in the shinobi world means he has to go to war sooner or later. Whether he likes it or not. Being weak when that time comes, he would only be a cannon fodder.

By the end of the 5th week, Kuro was able to split his shadow into 20 different shadows and he reached 100% mastery in Shadow Possession Jutsu. He could also feel that he can split his shadow more by spending more chakra. He is no longer restricted in using hand sign and how many he can control with his Shadow Possession Jutsu as long as he has the chakra.

Kuro ended the 30 goblins' misery and sent them a silent prayer for their service. He wishes them a better life in their next life.

Kuro grinned, feeling a rush of excitement due to the rewards from both the dungeon and the quest.

With a bright flash, Kuro reappears in his room. After completing the dungeon, Kuro felt a lot stronger as his stats were noticeably higher, his skills stronger, and the Class Token in his inventory intrigued him. The Title Shadow was something that caught his attention too. He briefly wondered what kind of special abilities or bonuses it might give him.

Title: Shadow (Grants enhanced stealth and evasion, reduces detection by enemies)

Kuro's eyes sparkled as he saw the title's description. A passive increase to stealth would increase his ability to survive when needed.

Kuro then immediately accessed his inventory for the Class Token. Using his new skill, Kuro analyzes the Token.

As Kuro thought about it, he grew excited thinking he might receive the Shadow Monarch class. If he did, he can live a lazy life while letting his shadow soldiers do all the work. He could almost picture it now: sitting back, maybe sipping on a drink while his shadow minions handled everything.

"Ah, what a life that would be." Kuro already has saliva dripping down just thinking about it. "But then again, the Class Token was random."

Taking a deep breath, Kuro used the Class Token. A shimmering glow appears and wraps around Kuro before disappearing.

Kuro grinned. Phase between realms? That's going to make escaping and ambushing so much easier. Plus, consuming shadows to grow stronger? Sounds like I'll be making a killing—literally.

Kuro couldn't help but let out a low whistle. These skills were everything he could ask for.

"Let's test these out," he murmured, already imagining the possibilities. His mind raced with tactics. He could phase through walls, strike from the darkness, and escape to safety with a flash. His enemies wouldn't even know what hit them.

With a quiet smirk, Kuro crouched down, closed his eyes, and focused. He could already feel the chakra flowing through him.

He reached for the nearest shadow in the corner of the room. With a subtle shift of his chakra, he activated Shadow Step, and in an instant, he was gone.

Kuro reappeared in the blink of an eye across the room, blending seamlessly into the shadowy corner.

"That's incredible," Kuro whispered, impressed by the fluidity of the movement. The shadows weren't just an environment—they were an extension of himself now.

He looked at the door leading out of his room and grinned. Time to test the other skills. The night was still young, and Kuro was ready to see just how far this power could take him.

He even forgot to check how much time has passed since he went into the dungeon.
