In Another World With Omnitrix

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: New alien and a weapon?

The Cryo-Golem's core pulsed like a dying star.

The hulking guardian stumbled, its icy limbs sparking as it tried to recover from Riven's last strike. Its hammer-arm, once pristine and glowing with frozen energy, now flickered erratically, unstable and sluggish.

Riven stood just a few feet away, boots skidding lightly on the frost-coated floor. The air was bitter cold — sharp enough to burn skin — but it didn't matter anymore. Not with the Omnitrix glowing.

The dial spun with a new symbol. A sleek, jagged shape — long tail, finned arms, icy aura.

"Time to even the temperature," Riven muttered.

He slapped down on the Omnitrix.

A vortex of green light erupted, swallowing him. His body shrank and reshaped, skin turning pale blue, limbs growing sleek and flexible. Fins burst from his arms and back. His face stretched into a long snout, breathing out curls of cold mist.

"ARTIGUANA!"

When the light faded, Riven stood transformed as Arctiguana.

"Let's chill."

The Cryo-Golem's let out a fractured, metallic roar and raised its hammer-like arm. It came down with a thundering crash — but Arctiguana skated backward on a stream of ice, leaving frosted tracks beneath his feet.

He unleashed a concentrated blast of freezing breath, coating the Warden's arm in shimmering frost. Ice crusted deep into the joints, and the guardian's movement locked mid-swing.

Riven darted forward, tail lashing. With one smooth arc, he swept low and released a cryo-blast to the Warden's knees. Ice erupted, locking its legs in place.

"You're not built for mobility, are you?"

The Cryo-Golem tried to lift its arm, but the frost held strong. It slammed a foot down, cracking the floor and freeing one leg — but the opening was enough.

Riven launched himself into the air with a blast from his icy breath. Mid-air, he twisted, then unleashed a stream of frost into the glowing fissure across the guardian's chest.

The alien DNA core inside flickered, reacting violently.

KRRSHH!

The armor around the core exploded outward in icy shards. The golem let out a final, broken roar before freezing mid-motion — a statue locked in its last moment of defiance.

And then… silence.

Riven landed softly as steam rose from the cracked body.

The transformation faded with a glow. He was human again, breath heaving but calm.

"That's two."

The Omnitrix chirped:

"DNA Profile: Arctiguana. Status: Integrated.

Energy restored to 100%."

Riven raised a brow. That was new.

But before he could think further, a soft click echoed from behind.

He turned sharply.

A large wall at the far end of the chamber shifted — a hidden door he hadn't noticed before. Ice cracked away from its surface as it slowly slid open, releasing a breath of long-stagnant air.

Cautious, Riven stepped forward.

The room beyond was dark — lit only by flickering blue lights embedded in the walls. Inside were ruined devices, half-broken containment pods, mechanical arms, shattered tubes filled with dust and frozen mist. The symbols carved across the walls were ancient, like those on the Omnitrix — but corrupted.

This was a failed lab. A tomb of ambition.

"They tried to build it…" Riven muttered, stepping carefully around a shattered core.

Each broken replica looked wrong — some had dials like the Omnitrix but melted, cracked, or fused into stone. Some still hummed faintly, as if asleep. One had claw marks across it. Another had completely merged with a chunk of alien crystal.

He crouched near the largest pod. Its base was shattered, and from it extended a strange black device — curved like a gauntlet, but clearly technological.

When he reached out, the Omnitrix pulsed.

"Compatible relic detected,Syncing…"

The device came to life. Before Riven could react, it detached from its pedestal and latched onto his right forearm, unfolding in metallic segments and locking into place.

"Whoa—!"

The interface sealed, glowing softly as the Omnitrix synced with it.

"Nullshift system online. Form: Blade. Form: Blaster. Charging complete."

The weapon shimmered and then — with a sharp sound — extended into a sleek energy-forged sword, its edge glowing with blue frost. The surface crackled with the same kind of plasma that powered the Omnitrix transformations.

"So… you're the one that worked."

He tested a movement. The sword felt balanced — as if it was part of him. Then, with a thought, it folded inward, shifting and reforming into a compact plasma blaster, humming softly.

He stared at the weapon, then down at the broken replicas around him.

"They failed to copy the Omnitrix… but they built somethings this."

The Omnitrix beeped again. Another portal shimmered into being just ahead — its green glow flickering with familiarity.

No alarms. No collapsing floor. Just… quiet.

Still, he hesitated.

Looking around the ruined lab — the dead echoes of alien science — he realized this wasn't just about unlocking aliens. There was a story buried here. A war, maybe. Secrets waiting to be uncovered.

And he was standing at the center of it.

He tightened his grip on Nullshift, now retracted to bracer form.

"I'm not just a visitor anymore."

Then, without another word, he stepped into the portal.

.....

The mall was in chaos. Sirens blared faintly in the distance. Emergency lights flashed.

Some of the civilians started waking up but some of them hasn't.

But they were being taken to the hospital through ambulance.

He was back… but the world had changed while he was gone.

His phone buzzed inside his pocket.

Hunter Riven Kade: Status Updated – Dungeon Cleared (Solo).

New Rank: C

Guild Alert Issued.

Power Signature: Unclassified.

Riven lowered the device, watching as the world continued in oblivion.

No one had seen him arrive. No one knew how he did it.

But someone would ask soon.

He looked down at the Omnitrix. The new alien icon pulsed softly beside Heatblast's. And on his right arm, Nullshift was still warm from its first activation.

He walked forward — toward the chaos.

End of chapter.
