Imperator: Resurrection of an Empire

Since the first stage of Civil Technologies had already been researched the next to approach were the higher costing Stage 2 technologies.

Thanks to the number of points the researchers of Romanus had generated for us in my abenense even with my own spending on military technologies while abroad.

The remaining points was still enough for me to boost the research and technologies almost to the brink of completing the second stage.

Our training of new spies along with new legions would progress faster thanks to the coupling of the new 4th rank Civil Education and 3rd rank Military Tactical, and Weapons training.

And not only that but they would be learning more advanced things than those previously trained so it'll probably be worth it to send everyone back to basic training if only for a bit to bring the entire militaries martial levels up to an adequate amount.

Beyond this I also chose to heighten both Machinery and Steel to near peak since the new spies would need a secret weapon that they could carry with them without being found out, and I had the perfect idea for what that weapon would be, and it would need both of these technologies to accomplish.

The assassins blade, a tool that would look nothing more than a gauntlet or bracers but secretly was hiding a hidden blade through which death could be delivered, along these same lines would be various poison darts along with other methods of subversion.

With the remaining points I also completed the compass, and got to the first rank of Chivalry and Physics both of which would continue to develop our nation into a none barbaric state and assist with our siege defenses as we bring the newly created catapult technologies to bear atop The Great Wall defending our borders with Visigoth.

With the choices made I was finally able to rest, for tomorrow thanks to thee choics I would become very busy as I used my assembled build points to create the new forges, training ground and schools that had been unlocked for constructions since unlocking the various ranks of the technologies themselves.

The next day came quickly and though he was supposed to be resting after his long journey at sea Julius had left the palace after eating a quick and simple breakfast.

Donning the uniform of the legion he along with a squad of Praetorians walked the streets of the Eternal City under cover.

As he travelled Julius was busy creating new school for children and high schools for young men and women.

Then in the military district new training grounds and barracks were being raised in a flash, existing ones were being upgraded as well.

As they conducted these upgrades Julius could see the effect it was making, the legionaires hard at training became fierce after the upgrade their swing which were deadly before became dangerous, even training on a simple wooden dummy with a wooden sword was causing both to form cracks and become damaged.

Then in the heart of the district a school and training ground were created, this would serve the heart of training new operatives for his spy organization.

The form for which would be simple as he'd later explain to Miri the director of Intelligence operations.

First there would be the roots, aka himself and the advisor council of Romanus, then connected to the roots was the Trunk otherwise known as Miri herself along with the bark which formed her command hq staff officers and personel.

Then there would be the in the field agents and commanders, connected directly to the trunk would be the branches, then each branch would have dozens of twigs, and lastly each twig commanded a series of leaves.

Just like in military commandunder Commanders, Captains, and Lieutenants but in a way that would cover up what their true rank within the organization was.

These designations would also serve to be their codenames when operating in the field.

Julius himself would be Root 1 not that it was ever expected he'd join in field operations but when he needed to send classified intelligence he could write it in code and then sign it as Root 1 to indicate just who it was that was sending the message and the veracity of what was written within the message.

The root was already assembled along with the trunk but in order for the Grand Tree to grow, they would need nutrients and from that ample growth would complete spawning plenty of branches, and twigs, through which leaves could be recruited abroad.

With the new school and obstacle training ground assembled Julius sent a messenger to inform Miri of her new workspaces, and to start sending out for recruitment into the organization.

Thanks to the training expected those who passed would become loyalists to Romanus so the threat of turncoats or those willing to expose sensitive information was impossible.

Meanwhile the new forges began to churn out not only new steel weaponry and armor, but also the new assassin tools in the form of needles capable of being loaded with all sorts of poisons and toxins, and then the hidden blades each agent would get two and thanks to Zeff they would become highly proficient in their use, meanwhile Zeff would take a liking to the hidden blades such that he'd request to keep his training pair even after the core trunk had been compiled and he could return to regular military operations.

As a curriculum Julius at first had the agents serving to protect the realm become the first trial branches and their task to practice for exterior operations was to target the palace and get past or 'assassinate' members of the praetorian guards.

This served a dual purpose of also providing additional training to the Praetorians, almost of of whom were the descendants of the old Praetorians who'd served the Imperial Family but a few standout members of the armed forces had been recruited into the elite force as well after reaching a maxed out loyalty.

Julius continued to make his rounds and even started to visit the neighboring cities and towns to spread the new technology quicker and expand their industries.
