Immortality Through Array Formations

Chapter 674: Enlightenment of Dao_2

Even in extreme cases, one might have to resort to parasitism of flesh and blood, transforming into an Evil God...

However, this is simply Mo Hua's current speculation, and whether or not it is true requires future verification when time allows.

Other than deities, amongst the Divine Thought Objects in the world, there exist ghosts and spirits.

Ghosts differ from gods.

Mo Hua propped up her chin, reflecting on some of the Evil Spirits she had encountered thus far, validating them in her mind.

Firstly, there was the Landscape Taoist Child Painting in the Black Mountain Stronghold, that Little Green-faced Ghost that transformed into a Taoist Child.

The ghost was a Thought of the ghost, its parasitic host being a landscape Contemplation Map.

Ghosts have their own characteristics.

In Mo Hua's memory, some fragmented pieces remained.

These fragments surfaced one by one in Mo Hua's mind after she devoured the Evil Thoughts of the little ghost…

Deep in the mountains, a Taoist Child followed a Taoist in cultivating immortality.

The Taoist was reading a strange book, and the Taoist Child followed suit. As they read on, the smiles on their faces gradually twisted, and both developed a craving for human flesh.

The Taoist Child colluded with the Taoist, deceiving wandering Cultivators, and started to consume humans.

As they feasted, they both lost their human form.

One turned into a red-faced, ferocious Evil Ghost, and the other into a green-faced Little Ghost.

Then came a white-robed Sword Cultivator riding the clouds, who with a slash of his sword, killed the red-faced Evil Ghost transformed from the Taoist.

Yet, the green-faced Little Ghost that the Taoist Child became managed to escape disaster, fleeing into the painting, sealed within the Taoist temple...

Mo Hua, based on what Lord Yellow Mountain said about matters of gods and ghosts, roughly speculated that the book read by this Taoist and Taoist Child is most likely a Cultivation Technique for the Demon Path Ghost Cultivator.

Having learned this technique, they became "Ghost Cultivators," turning into Fierce Ghosts.

The so-called "consuming" humans likely meant "consuming" humans' Divine Senses.

According to Lord Yellow Mountain, if a ghost eats a human, it must first consume that person's closest kin…

Mo Hua pondered for a moment and felt that there was even a possibility.

This Taoist Child could actually be the son of the Taoist.

Fearing that after cultivating ghost techniques, the Taoist would become a Fierce Ghost and would first consume his own son, he thus showed the Demon Path's Ghost Cultivation Technique to the young Taoist Child.

In this way, "father and son go to battle as ghosts," both father and son become ghosts together, and together they go to "consume" others.

The Taoist was the father, the red-faced Evil Ghost.

The Taoist Child was the son, the green-faced Little Ghost.

Sharing the same bloodline, cultivating the same technique, the ghosts they transformed into were also of the same lineage.

Later, when the Sword Cultivator executed the ghost, the powerful red-faced Evil Ghost was slain, but it was quite unreasonable for the evidently weaker green-faced Little Ghost to survive.

It should be…

The red-faced Evil Ghost transformed by the Taoist, knowing his inevitable death, chose to sacrifice his life to hold off the powerful enemy, to let his son, the green-faced Little Ghost that the Taoist Child became, escape disaster.

Plainly an Evil Ghost, yet it demonstrated a bit of… "human sentiment"?

Mo Hua was taken aback, unsure of how to articulate this…

There was also something that greatly concerned Mo Hua.

White-robed Sword Cultivators slaying ghosts…

If one could slay ghosts with Sword Qi, could this white-robed Sword Cultivator possibly be practicing the technique of Divine Thought into Sword?

He couldn't possibly be… a senior Sword Cultivator from Taixu Gate, could he?

Mo Hua opened her mouth, startled by her own guess.

"It couldn't be such a coincidence, could it…"

Mo Hua frowned and thought for a moment, then shook her head.

Guesses are after all just guesses.

Now the red-faced Evil Ghost is dead, and the green-faced Little Ghost has been "eaten" by her, and the white-robed Sword Cultivator indistinct, making it difficult to confirm their identities.

However, this doesn't matter much.

Mo Hua went over the cause and effect again, nodding slightly.

With the knowledge of the study of gods and ghosts, her understanding of the Landscape Taoist Child Painting and the recognition of the green-faced ghost became much clearer.

Some previously vague experiences, due to the growth in her Tao Cultivation experience and increased knowledge, also gradually became clear.

Mo Hua felt a faint connection, as if a point of spiritual insight had been illuminated.

After the Contemplation Map, the second Evil Spirit encountered was in South Yue City, the old ancestor painting from Corpse Cultivator Zhang Quan.

Zhang Quan, connecting with his entire line of ancestors, was technically "zombie" when alive and, strictly speaking, should be considered a "ghost" after death.

However, the manifestations after death took various "zombie" forms.

But this raised a question:

"If ghosts consume humans, starting with their closest relatives, then why weren't Zhang Quan and his large family of Corpse Ghosts in the ancestor painting consumed first?"

Mo Hua furrowed her brows.

Could the reason why the descendants of Zhang Family's line of Corpse Cultivators declined, leaving only Zhang Quan alone, be that they were…

Devoured by their ancestors in secret?

Eventually, only Zhang Quan remained.

If Zhang Quan too were consumed, the Zhang Family line would end.

Was it that the ancestors of the Zhang Family were "far-sighted," restraining the Corpse Ghosts of past generations, leaving Zhang Quan as the sole survivor to continue the family line?

Or could it be because the Zhang Family's "ancestor painting" was particularly unique?

That this Contemplation Map was naturally suited for ghosts to reside in?

Mo Hua was very curious.

He longed to seek verification from Zhang Quan or from the Corpse Ghosts formed by the generations of his ancestors, but regrettably, they were all "stewed" in one pot and wholly "swallowed" by her.

During the time of "swallowing" them, Mo Hua's Divine Sense had already become very strong.

These Corpse Cultivator ghost thoughts were also thoroughly destroyed, so she did not see many of the residual memories.

Mo Hua felt some regret.

However, the matter with Zhang Family's Contemplation Map also reminded Mo Hua…

Mo Hua remembered that the leftover empty Contemplation Map from the "exterminated" Zhang Family's Corpse Ghosts is still hidden in her Storage Ring.

And now, it has a new resident—the strangely eye-like Five Elements Source Pattern from the Five Elements Sect…

Mo Hua flinched, a chill suddenly rising in her heart.

Strange eye-likes...

Possessing its own Evil Thoughts, capable of dividing, capable of parasitism, and containing the Five Elements Law…
