Book 3: Chapter 89: Rescue
The yellow monk robe around San Wu continued to flutter, his expression very serious. His cultivation was on par with the Happy Monk’s, not to mention the Happy Monk had expended a lot of spirit force fighting against Pei Su Su before. San Wu sent a surge of golden spirit force toward the Happy Monk without holding back at all.
Pei Su Su had a cold expression. She was someone with a strong personality, and she had never yielded to anyone aside from Zhao Jiuge. Seeing that San Wu already made his move, Pei Su Su was unwilling to fall behind. She sent out a surge of cyan spirit force that smashed toward the Happy Monk.
Although those two surges of spirit force looked powerful, it wasn’t much of an issue for Nascent Soul Realm cultivators like them. However, the purpose of these attacks was not to finish the Happy Monk, but to delay him while they prepared their real attack to quickly end this battle. Even the Happy Monk would have to spend some effort dealing with these attacks, or else he might suffer greatly.
The Happy Monk’s smile disappeared and his expression became serious. It was one against two, and one of them was as strong as him. If he made a mistake, he might never see the light of day again. Usually, he avoided fighting if possible, and if forced he would make sure everything was within his control.
He had already exchanged moves with Pei Su Su and San Wu, so he knew that these two youths were not simple. He would have to go all out here—even a tiger would use all its strength to hunt a rabbit. The Happy Monk was a cautious person, but in his heart he always had the fantasy that he would win even in a one versus two situation.
Not to mention this was his nest, the Bliss Palace. He had operated this place for many years, and it had more than just the formation on the surface.
He frowned slightly. The Happy Monk quickly released a pink spirit force that smashed toward the cyan and gold attacks.
A thunderous rumble echoed and the Bliss Palace shook once more, dust shooting into the air once more. The Happy Monk’s spirit force was naturally suppressed by Pei Su Su and San Wu. However, it had served its purpose—the Happy Monk bought enough time to attack and began moving his hands. Pei Su Su and San Wu also sped up their endeavor.
All of them acted quickly, and all three of them used their biggest aces right off the bat. They all had the same idea: finish this battle as quickly as possible. Battles between masters usually ended in an instant.
The group of women nearby watched all of this. They didn’t know Pei Su Su and San Wu’s strength, but they could see that the Happy Monk was at a disadvantage. This allowed them to see some hope of escaping this dark place. They hadn’t seen Pei Su Su and San Wu’s power like Han Yu. They were also only at the Foundation Realm, so they couldn’t see the cultivation levels of people far above them.“Go, get as far away from here as you can.”
These women’s reactions and expressions were noticed by Han Yu. She quickly shouted so that these women who had suffered like her could escape. Unlike her, who had lost too much yin energy and only had one or two years left to live, these women could still start over.
When the Happy Monk was being held down by Pei Su Su and San Wu, it was the perfect time to allow as many people to escape as possible. It didn’t matter who won in the end—Han Yu would not run away. Unless she saw the Happy Monk die, she wouldn’t be able to die in peace!
Han Yu saw that her shout had only made those women squeal, with no obvious reaction. She couldn’t help but shout once more. Only now did one of these women react and look over at the Happy Monk. She saw that the Happy Monk was surrounded by two people and at a disadvantage. Her heart pounded and she quickly broke into a run through the broken Bliss Palace toward the outside world.
With one person taking the lead, the other women slowly reacted and quickly followed. They quickly rushed toward the outside world they hadn’t been allowed to see in a long time. Some of the more timid women saw this and looked over at the Happy Monk. They saw that he was still busy fighting and wasn’t doing anything about it. This allowed them to settle down, then they also began rushing outside. A few of the women didn’t even bother to put on any clothes and directly rushed outside. In the blink of an eye, all of them disappeared.
Looking at the scene before him, Zhao Jiuge couldn’t help but feel like something was off. He frowned and asked Han Yu, “This can’t be all of them, right? Before, San Wu said there were more than 100 people here.”
“There still are, there still are. They are all locked in the secret chambers below. The Happy Monk only releases 20 to 30 women at a time, the rest are imprisoned below. The strong-willed women are never let out, and he uses some perverted means to torture them. After all, duo cultivation requires two people.”
After hearing Zhao Jiuge’s words, Han Yu quickly nodded. Due to her excitement, her tone was a bit hasty. She naturally understood Zhao Jiuge’s intent of letting everyone escape. Han Yu was very grateful, and although she didn’t know them, she felt compassion towards them. She didn’t want them to suffer under the Happy Monk anymore. She was a lost cause now and only wished for the Happy Monk to die and for the women imprisoned here to escape.
Zhao Jiuge quietly said, “Let’s go, take me there. There is nothing I can do there. We’ll go save them first.”
Pei Su Su and San Wu were more than enough to deal with the Happy Monk, and they wouldn’t be in any danger. It looked like this battle wouldn’t end anytime soon, plus he had nothing to do. Might as well release these women from their suffering sooner.
Han Yu excitedly nodded and rushed toward a corner of the Bliss Palace. Zhao Jiuge followed closely after her.
The Happy Monk was aware of everything that was going on, whether it was the dozens of women escaping or Han Yu taking Zhao Jiuge to rescue the women below. He could only watch helplessly, because he couldn’t afford to get distracted when facing the combat power of San Wu and Pei Su Su.
He had lost a few dozen earlier and a few dozen more were running. He was likely to lose even more of the cultivation furnaces he had locked below. This made his heart ache, and he was filled with indignation. His hands began to move even faster and he felt a lustful fire burning inside him when he looked at Pei Su Su. He secretly thought to himself, “I’ll let you guys be proud for now, but once I finish this, watch how I torture you. Anyway, this Pei Su Su is more than enough to make up for all those women!”
When the Happy Monk finished his hand movements, a hot wave appeared inside the Bliss Palace. It was because the Bliss Palace was rather small that this heat wave seemed unusually strong.
A white flame appeared before the Happy Monk, and it was surrounded by a pink glow. This flame gave off a dangerous feeling and was extremely unpleasant.
Pei Su Su and San Wu hadn’t finished their preparations, but they weren’t far behind.
The moment this white fire appeared, Pei Su Su and San Wu narrowed their eyes, trying to figure out what it was. Even though both were well educated, they didn’t know what it was, but the sense of danger they felt was real.
Seeing the shock and doubt on Pei Su Su and San Wu’s faces, the Happy Monk felt proud. This was his hidden ace. Ever since he reached the Nascent Soul Realm, he had only used it a few times. He believed that only a handful of people in the world knew what this fire was.
An invisible ripple suddenly popped and the area around Pei Su Su became dark. Then a speck of black light the size of a rice grain appeared. It wasn’t large, but it seemed to absorb all the surrounding light!
In the end, this black light began to grow until it was the size of a human head. It just silently floated there without any sound or light. However, the sense of danger it gave off was no less than the fire the Happy Monk had created.
Seeing the black light, the Happy Monk’s smug smile disappeared and his expression turned ugly. Just like how Pei Su Su and San Wu didn’t know what the white fire was, he didn’t know what this black light was!
And at this moment, another powerful fluctuation boomed. San Wu had finally finished his attack!
