Immortal Mythos: Bound by Void

Chapter 72: Chapter 57: Training with a Side of Ramen

---

The sun was high, casting its warm light over the clearing where Yuki and his group had set up camp. After their intense experiences in the void, everyone had agreed it was time for a break, though not without a bit of training to keep their edge sharp. Nogitsune had insisted on continuing Yuki's training, but this time, it would be more casual—no life-threatening challenges, just a chance for Yuki to refine his control over the void and reality manipulation.

Haru, leaning against a tree, seemed more interested in keeping an eye on the surroundings than actually participating. Kai, ever the efficient cook, was busy preparing ramen over an open fire, his mouth watering from the thought of the meal. The aroma filled the air, making Yuki's stomach growl louder than he had ever expected in a training session.

"So," Yuki started, stretching his arms, "what's on the agenda today, sensei?"

Nogitsune smirked, hands tucked behind his back as he gave a small bow. "Today's lesson is about focus. You've got the power, but if your mind wanders even for a moment, the void can slip out of your control."

Yuki nodded. He had learned that the hard way during their earlier encounters. It was a strange balance—holding that much power without letting it consume him. But the thought of not having a solid meal afterwards was becoming a bigger challenge than anything.

"Can we focus on not starving to death first?" Yuki asked, trying to hold back a laugh as his stomach gave an almost comical growl.

Haru shot him a grin, clearly enjoying Yuki's discomfort. "You've got to earn your food, kid. The void isn't going to fill your stomach."

Nogitsune raised an eyebrow, glancing towards Kai, who was busy stirring the ramen. "And I see you're learning to control the void...but not your appetite."

Yuki sighed dramatically, turning to the pot where the ramen was simmering. "Is it even possible to focus with my stomach doing the cha-cha?"

Kai chuckled from the fire. "I'm almost done. You'll survive."

Nogitsune smirked, his voice teasing. "I guess it's hard to focus when your stomach is the loudest thing in the room."

Yuki grinned back at him. "You knew I was going to say that, didn't you?"

"Of course," Nogitsune said, his tone light. "I've spent enough time watching you to know your quirks. But don't get too distracted. Once you can control your hunger, you can control the void."

Yuki smirked, but something in his eyes softened. "Alright, alright. But I'm definitely getting first dibs on that ramen."

As Yuki sat down cross-legged, Nogitsune gestured for him to begin his meditation. "Close your eyes, focus. Remember, the void is inside you. It's not something outside. It's a part of you. The more you control your inner desires, the more you can control this power."

Yuki closed his eyes, taking deep breaths, trying to center himself. His thoughts tried to drift—towards the ramen, towards the cool breeze, towards the training—but he forced them back.

For a few moments, everything was calm. The swirl of energy inside him, that dark, chaotic feeling, started to settle. He could feel the emptiness, and with every breath, he pulled it in closer, shaping it. It wasn't just a force he had to fight; it was a part of him.

Then, his stomach growled again, loud enough to interrupt the meditative silence.

Yuki groaned. "Seriously?"

"Focus," Nogitsune said firmly. "The emptiness is already inside you. But the hunger, the desire for more—it's also a part of you. Don't let it rule you."

Yuki nodded, feeling the void energy in his hands, pulsing gently. He focused on it, feeling its power, then releasing it slowly, carefully. The swirling dark energy calmed in his grasp.

There it was—the beginning of control.

"You're doing well," Nogitsune said, his tone unexpectedly approving. "But remember, control over the void isn't just about power. It's about awareness."

Yuki opened his eyes, feeling the connection with the energy, and felt a sense of pride in how far he'd come. "So... this is it? Just controlling my hunger and my power?"

Nogitsune's smirk softened a bit. "It's more than that. But... food first. You've earned it."

Kai chuckled, lifting the pot from the fire and serving up the ramen. "I knew you two were all talk. Let's eat."

With that, the group sat down to enjoy the fruits of their labors—Yuki's stomach, finally at peace. As the warm steam of the ramen filled the air, Yuki realized that sometimes, the simplest moments—like eating with friends—were the ones that reminded him that life wasn't all about power and control.

For a moment, everything felt normal.

"If you're enjoying the ride, don't forget to leave a power stone or a comment—it really helps this grow!"
