I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic)

Chapter 494: Chapter 494 Are You Some Kind of Wild Man?

The Hunter Exam is notoriously brutal.

As long as it is within the allowed rules, the examiners will not interfere even if the examinees fight each other.

Usually, as long as one does not violate any rules and completes the test given by the examiner, even a devil could pass.

Hisoka, who participated in the Hunter Exam last year, understood this well, which is why he dared to go on a killing spree in the first phase.

After all, as long as he didn't break any rules, he wouldn't be disqualified from the Hunter Exam.

And if the examiners changed the rules on the spot and intervened, it didn't matter.

What Hisoka would do is to cripple the examiner and then take the Hunter Exam again next year.

Therefore, Illumi's plan was theoretically feasible.

For this round, the test given by Buhara was: bring back a roast pork within three hours and satisfy him.

In other words-

If anyone failed to present a properly roasted pig within three hours, they would lose their chance to advance.

And Illumi, no, it should be said that all examinees are allowed to sabotage others in the process of completing the test.

Of course, they didn't necessarily need to kill. A gentler approach would be to knock out other examinees.

But Illumi obviously doesn't know what gentleness is, and he is more inclined to kill other examinees or use his needles to speed up efficiency.

'It would be faster to use Needle People.'

Illumi thought, stepping into the forest.

In order to get the Hunter License as soon as possible and makes Killua go home, he had already decided to eliminate the other examinees in this round.

This kind of prompt action was typical for Illumi.

He walked into the forest and began looking for his target.

As he entered the forest, he spotted two examinees lingering on its outskirts. These people were still oblivious to his presence.

Swoosh, swoosh-

In a barely audible whisper, two bead-headed needles wrapped in a faint Nen sliced through the air, aiming straight for the backs of the two examinees' heads. They barely felt the sting before their consciousness faded.

From that moment on, under the forced control of a coercive Manipulation-Type Nen Ability, their souls were wiped clean, transforming them into Illumi's obedient puppets.

"Kill anyone you encounter."

Illumi instructed his newly created Needle People.

The two Needle People, with a hint of evil Nen on the back of their heads, immediately rushed into the depths of the forest in a bizarre running posture.

Illumi watched them go, then turned his attention elsewhere.

"I need to hurry."

Looking into the depths of the forest where faint sounds were heard, he murmured to himself.

For this year's examinees, hunting a wild boar wasn't difficult and could probably be done within half an hour. The real challenge was in the roasting process, which would take up most of the time.

If the examinees chose to roast their pigs outdoors, Illumi would have ample time to eliminate them. However, some might try to carry their catch back to the warehouse to cook there...

Taking this into consideration, Illumi disappeared in a flash, speeding toward the depths of the forest.

As long as the first batch of Needle People are produced as quickly as possible, the difficulty of sweeping all examinees can be greatly reduced.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh-

The forest echoed with the subtle whistling of needles piercing the air.

One by one, in unnoticed corners, Illumi's Nen-wrapped needles flew, precisely striking the heads of unsuspecting examinees who are searching for wild boars.

As time passed, the number of Needle People controlled by Illumi soon reached twenty.

At the same time…

Gon had discovered signs of a wild boar herd.

There is only one species of boar in the Visca Forest Preserve, Great Stamp, which is regarded as the world's most violent boar species, known for its extreme aggression and tendency to live in herds.

As a result, Gon had no trouble tracking down clues that led him to the Great Stamp.

Before long-

He, along with Leorio, Killua, and Kurapika, who seemed preoccupied after recently regaining consciousness, found a herd of these boars.

"Gon, are you some kind of wild man?"

While tracking the herd, Killua couldn't help but tease Gon, amazed by how quickly he'd sniffed out the Great Stamp through all his crawling and sniffing on the ground.

"Hehe."

Gon scratched the back of his head, looking a little embarrassed.

Killua was stunned for a moment, thinking to himself, 'I wasn't complimenting you!'

"I'm going in first."

Gon didn't think much about it. Holding the fishing rod in hand, he rushed straight towards the group of big snouted pigs at the front.

The feeling of being torn between fear and thrill that he had experienced before when facing Hisoka showed signs of resurfacing after he saw this group of aggressive wild boars.

It was terrifying, but also exhilarating...

With a curious excitement, Gon leapt into the air, dodging the boars' charges. As he looked down at the snorting beasts rushing past, memories of Moses and Hisoka flickered through his mind.

'This doesn't feel nearly as intense as it did then...'

Adjusting his posture mid-air, Gon swung his fishing rod and struck one of the boars squarely on the head.

Bang!

The boar's eyes rolled back as it collapsed, unconscious.

"Their weak spot is their head."

Gon announced to his friends as he landed.

Upon hearing this, Leorio eagerly charged at the nearest boar.

Beside him, Kurapika took a deep breath, gripped his wooden blades tightly, and advanced toward the herd as well.

But just as they were about to make their moves, they saw Killua stepped forward with his hands in his pockets, and in just a few seconds, he quickly and effortlessly dispatched the remaining boars.

"…" x2.

Looking at the giant boar lying on the ground, Leorio and Kurapika couldn't feel happy.

With his back to them, Killua studied the boars thoughtfully. He hadn't meant to steal their targets, but he wanted to test his new abilities after recently learning Nen, and the boars seemed like perfect practice.

'The most obvious change is in power… no, more accurately, attack strength.'

Killua thought in surprise.

'With the amplification of this so-called Aura, there is no need to exert any effort at all to launch an attack with more power than before.'

'So, this is Nen...'

'With this power, I don't have to be afraid of Big Brother anymore.'

A bright gleam appeared in Killua's eyes.

Having now officially crossed the threshold into the world of Nen, Killua now has gained the strength to stand against his family and Illumi's control!

Killua was quite excited when he thought of this.
