Chapter 199: 192
Blood Bodhi doesn't cause diminishing returns from repeated use. For Shiba and Mia, the increase of 10,000 potential energy each was a major boost.
After all, excluding the reserves from their Yin Seals, and even with the efficient body-building results of the gravity rings, their potential energy had only just reached the threshold of the first-tier level.
With such a significant boost, they could now also reconstruct new Yin Seals to further expand their Nen reserves.
Then there was Dilumon.
Dilumon's physique could rival that of a Chimera Ant. It was born with innate potential far beyond that of ordinary humans.
Even though its current strength was only high-tier, its raw potential energy was already greater than Alex's—even after his full 100% cellular development.
An increase of 10,000 might not seem like much for Dilumon, but it was definitely not insignificant either.
Once Shiba, Mia, and Dilumon finished absorbing the Blood Bodhi, it was Alex's turn.
They switched roles, and with Shiba, Mia, and Dilumon now standing guard, Alex calmly consumed his two Blood Bodhi pills simultaneously.
As the fruit's rich energy coursed through him and was quickly digested, Alex felt his potential energy surge by another 20,000 units.
Like the others, with the increase in potential energy, he could now reconstruct his Yin Seal to raise his total Nen capacity further.
"Now for the final reward—[Hundred-Step Divine Fist]!"
He didn't rush into building a new Yin Seal yet. After receiving the first two rewards, Alex was most eager to unlock the last—[Hundred-Step Divine Fist].
Buzz!
As soon as he claimed it, an indescribable energy surged through his body. His muscles tensed involuntarily, and a thoughtful expression crossed his face.
It was just like when he had received the [Great Fire Extinguishing] technique—except this time, the instinctive understanding was tied to a devastating martial art.
"Just as I thought… it's been converted into a Nen technique." A glimmer of excitement flashed in Alex's eyes as he looked toward a boulder in the distance, about the height of two people and over twenty meters away.
He raised his arm, formed a fist, and prepared to test the [Hundred-Step Divine Fist].
Boom!
He punched the air.
A visible burst of Nen-laced force exploded from his fist, rocketing through the air like a cannonball. It slammed directly into the boulder and detonated, reducing the entire rock to rubble and kicking up a powerful gust.
"What was that?!"
Shiba, Mia, and Dilumon—all on guard duty—immediately turned to see the distant boulder crumble under the impact. Then their eyes locked onto Alex.
Not done yet, Alex threw another punch—this time diagonally into the sky.
Boom!
The air rippled violently as another visible shockwave blasted out from his fist. The fist-shaped Nen projectile tore through the sky, traveling hundreds of meters before it finally dissipated.
"Incredible." A smile formed on Alex's lips as he watched the fading shockwave.
The "hundred steps" in the [Hundred-Step Divine Fist] name, he realized, was only symbolic. It wasn't a fixed range.
The first punch had been to test the destructive power. The second was to determine its true range.
As far as he could tell, the technique had two incredible properties:
First, the strength of the punch didn't decay with distance. If the force remained intact, then whether it hit something ten feet away or one hundred meters away, the effect was the same—it was like getting hit point-blank by Alex himself.
Second, the range scaled with power. The stronger his physical punch, the farther the projectile would travel.
Those two traits made the [Hundred-Step Divine Fist] even better than he expected.
"Was that the third reward?" Shiba asked as she, Mia, and Dilumon approached. Mia glanced at the shattered boulder, intrigued.
Alex nodded with a grin. "That's right—and it's a good one."
"A shockwave attack? Or maybe… something more remote?" Shiba guessed.
"It felt like the force of your punch was separated from your body," Dilumon added thoughtfully. "Pure power flying through the air."
"You're both right," Alex confirmed. "The ability is called the Hundred-Step Divine Fist."
He gave them a concise breakdown of how it worked.
In a team, it was essential to share at least a basic understanding of each other's abilities. Without that, their coordination in battle would fall apart.
Alex wasn't the type to keep such things secret from his team.
After hearing the explanation, Shiba, Mia, and Dilumon all looked impressed.
It was a perfect fit for Alex's Enhancer-type Nen—giving him long-range capabilities without sacrificing his preferred close-combat style.
"Alright, time to rebuild the new Yin Seals. Once that's done, we'll resume the hunt for Class A criminals."
With the reward distribution finished, Alex laid out their next plan.
Rebuilding the Yin Seals didn't take long. All three—Shiba, Mia, and even Dilumon—had already learned how to form them through past experience.
As for the hunt…
The [Crimebuster III] achievement had now reached 18/50.
Even after leaving Meteor Street, the tally continued rising.
The Kavos City conflict had helped, as did the bounty hunters drawn by the five-billion-Jenny reward.
Not all of them were extreme-level threats, but several were registered Class A criminals. Their deaths counted toward his achievement.
18 down, 32 to go.
Once everyone had finished rebuilding their Yin Seals, the group set out once again—this time, back on the hunt for their next targets.
