I’m a Girl, He’s a Psycho, and This is Fine

Chapter 33: Chapter 16.1: Daily Struggles and Comedic Chaos

The morning after securing her place in Dorm Room 415, Shi Mo awoke to chaos.

Zhou Zhi was shirtless.

Again.

"Why are you stripping?" she asked flatly, still groggy from sleep.

"I'm embracing nature," Zhou Zhi replied, stretching theatrically. "Plus, I run hotter than average. It's a biological gift."

Fu Yunshen raised an eyebrow from where he stood brushing his teeth, muttering, "Gift or curse?"

Shi Mo rolled out of bed, rubbing her eyes. "The real curse is me being stuck with both of you."

She turned toward her wardrobe and began her morning routine—t-shirt, hoodie, binder, overshirt. Layers to hide the truth. Layers to stay safe.

Living with two boys while pretending to be one was exhausting. But the system insisted this was the optimal route to reach her mission target: gaining Fu Yunshen's brotherhood.

Which meant enduring mornings like these—half-naked classmates, awkward encounters, and gender-related near-exposures.

Every. Single. Day.

Later, at breakfast, Shi Mo sat quietly with her tray of steamed buns and soymilk, watching Zhou Zhi devour two whole egg rolls in under a minute.

"Why are you eating like the cafeteria's about to explode?" she asked.

"Because," Zhou Zhi said dramatically between bites, "today is test day."

Fu Yunshen, seated across from them, sipped his porridge. "You haven't studied."

"Exactly. Which means this could be my last meal as a free man."

Shi Mo smirked.

Zhou Zhi leaned closer. "Hey, Shi Mo, can I copy your paper?"

"No."

"Come on, just a little?"

"No."

Zhou Zhi turned to Fu Yunshen. "What about you?"

Fu Yunshen raised his eyes, deadpan. "You'd fail either way."

Zhou Zhi slumped back in his chair. "You two are the coldest roommates in the school."

Shi Mo and Fu Yunshen exchanged glances and both shrugged.

"Fair," Shi Mo said.

Back in class, Shi Mo pulled out her pen and notebook as the teacher walked in, a stack of tests in hand.

"Pop quiz today," the teacher announced with all the joy of a funeral director. "No talking. No cheating."

Zhou Zhi groaned audibly.

Ten minutes in, he leaned over and whispered, "What's the answer to number three?"

Shi Mo didn't respond.

He tapped her desk.

She handed him a blank piece of paper.

Zhou Zhi stared at it. "This isn't funny."

Shi Mo looked at him calmly. "Neither is your grade."
