If You Could Hear My Heart

Chapter 1463: 1463: Leave Me a Survivor

Miao Xiu deliberately instructed the driver to park the car in a secluded area near the amusement park, then intentionally wandered with Xiaobao around the bumper car section.

When he reached this area, the tracker in his pants pocket began to vibrate continuously.

Miao Xiu quickly walked back toward the car, already sensing that Bai Man had followed them.

Once inside the car, he purposefully sat with Xiaobao in the back seat and shut the door.

"Uncle, I'm not thirsty; I'll wait for you outside," Xiaobao said.

"Wait a second. Look at your clothes; they're all dirty. If we go back like this, your mom will scold you. Let me get you a clean change of clothes," Miao Xiu replied.

Looking down, Xiaobao indeed saw that his clothes were smeared with sticky candy stains.

Miao Xiu casually busied himself inside the car, deliberately not stepping out.

Bai Man approached; today, she had seized her chance.

After days of stalking Xu Chaomu, she hadn't expected to see Xu Chaomu's son today.

In fact, killing her son would be far more satisfying than killing Xu Chaomu herself…

She hid behind a tree, adjusting her handgun.

Miao Xiu tossed some clothes to Xiaobao and whispered, "Uncle will drive you somewhere quieter so you can change."

"Okay…" Xiaobao nodded, understanding that there were too many people around here, which was embarrassing.

Miao Xiu then retrieved a handgun from beneath the car seat, quickly jumped out of the car, and slammed the door shut!

The next moment, Miao Xiu scanned through the crowd, searching for Bai Man's position!

Bai Man, mistaking Miao Xiu for just a driver, paid him no mind. She aimed directly at Xiaobao in the back seat and pulled the trigger!

With a deafening "bang," the bullet struck the car window!

Yet, the window didn't budge—only shallow marks appeared!

"Shen Chi, you bastard!" Bai Man's eyes widened in shock. She just realized it was a trap, that Shen Chi had come prepared!

This car was bulletproof!

She quickly retreated, blending into the crowd for cover.

How many times had she fallen into Shen Chi's hands? And now, once again, outsmarted by him.

She thought her careful tracking this entire time had left no gaps, but clearly, she had been wrong!

Inside the car, Xiaobao rubbed his head. "I think I heard something…"

He tapped on the car window. "Uncle Miao, Uncle Miao, I'm done changing…"

But Miao Xiu was already gone, having locked Xiaobao safely inside the car.

"Uncle Miao…" Xiaobao called out a few more times, but there was no response. Growing nervous and scared, he pounded on the window harder.

He climbed up to look out the window, but Miao Xiu was nowhere in sight!

"Uncle Miao, you liar! Where are you? Big liar…" Xiaobao slumped back in the car and began to cry.

He tried to open the car window but found it wouldn't budge.

Bai Man hadn't predicted this turn of events because she never expected Shen Chi would use his son as bait.

When it came to tactics, she simply couldn't measure up to Shen Chi.

As she retreated toward the amusement park's outskirts to get to her car, suddenly, a gunshot rang out. Her car's tire exploded!

Ayu emerged from the restroom, holding a handgun!

The muzzle was aimed precisely at Bai Man. This time, there was no mistake—it was Bai Man herself, not some hired decoy.

Bai Man, wearing a black mask, fired back at Ayu while quickly searching for another vehicle.

Ayu's spear technique far outclassed Bai Man's. She aimed for Bai Man's calf and fired a shot.

Blood immediately gushed from Bai Man's leg, leaving her unable to flee. She looked up at Ayu.

In Bai Man's eyes burned hatred, fury, and despair.

The intense fire in her gaze seemed ready to consume everything around her.

The air around them was thick with the sharp metallic scent of blood, carried everywhere by the wind, making the atmosphere even more unsettling.

Gun in hand, Ayu steadily advanced toward Bai Man, her sights fixed on Bai Man's head.

Bai Man collapsed to the ground, teeth clenched, staring coldly at Ayu.

"Leave her alive for me."

At this moment, a calm, cold voice sounded from behind Ayu.

It was Shen Chi.

Bai Man looked up in that instant, locking her gaze on the newcomer.

Shen Chi appeared just as she remembered, though today he wore casual attire, his face devoid of expression.

Bai Man stared intently at Shen Chi, biting her lip, saying nothing.

This was the man she had loved for so many years, merciless above all.

The many battles between them over the years—her one and only victory had been driving Xu Chaomu away.

She had thought that with Xu Chaomu out of his life, he might finally notice her… but Bai Man couldn't help but laugh at herself.

Love had morphed into hatred; she hated Xu Chaomu, hated their son, and, by extension… hated Shen Chi too.

Miao Xiu walked out as well, his composure restored. Leisurely, he strolled over to Ayu's side.

"Senior Sister, put the gun down. We all know your aim is perfect," Miao Xiu teased Ayu with a playful grin.

"Shut up," Ayu snapped, unwilling to comply.

"Look at you, so easily provoked. Look at Bai Man—where could she possibly run to? It's not like she has wings," Miao Xiu smirked.

"Say one more word, and I'll make you end up just like her!" Ayu glared at him.

Miao Xiu raised his hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright, I give up."

As he spoke, Miao Xiu walked closer to Bai Man.

Bai Man's face filled with guarded hostility as she watched him approach. She tried to move but found the pain in her leg unbearable.

Miao Xiu removed her mask and clicked his tongue. "Looks like we got the right person."

"What do you want?" Bai Man asked coldly.

"Nothing much. Trust me, I'm not interested in you. I'm only interested in my senior sister," he said with a mischievous glance at Ayu.

A slight blush crept up Ayu's ears; Miao Xiu truly had no shame.

In response, Ayu fired a shot right by Miao Xiu's feet!

With a sharp "bang," Miao Xiu jumped back in fright, glaring at Ayu with an aggrieved expression. "Senior Sister, you can't treat me like this. What if something happens to me? Who else would love you as much as I do?"

"…" Ayu was about to lose her mind. And here they were, surrounded by so many people!

From behind his back, Miao Xiu retrieved a pair of handcuffs and securely restrained Bai Man's hands.

"Alright, behave yourself. Maybe if you cooperate, our Boss Shen will show some mercy," Miao Xiu told Bai Man.

"Pah!" Bai Man spat, shooting a cold glare at Miao Xiu.

"Spitting at me won't change anything; I've dealt with plenty of criminals like you," Miao Xiu said, standing up.

Shen Chi remained silent, his sharp, frigid gaze sweeping over Bai Man.

The sun shone directly overhead, highlighting Bai Man's pale, blood-drained face.

Perhaps due to excessive blood loss, Bai Man's complexion grew ever paler. When she looked at Shen Chi, her eyes held an inscrutable expression.

"Shen Chi, I've lost again, at your hands," Bai Man chuckled coldly, her expression calm.

"Wasn't that always the inevitable outcome?" Shen Chi replied flatly.

"Did you know? All I feel for you now is hatred," Bai Man said, staring at Shen Chi as her disheveled hair framed her face.

"I know."

"You captured my parents, destroyed my family—Shen Chi, you're heartless, a treacherous, ungrateful man without a soul!"

"I do have a heart, just not for you," Shen Chi said indifferently.

Hearing this, Bai Man froze momentarily, then let out a mocking laugh, ridiculing herself.

His heart was never hers to begin with, but hearing those words from his mouth drove a dagger through her chest like some cruel blade.
