Chapter 118 Reprimand!
Suddenly, the walkie-talkie lying on the ground crackled to life, and an anxious voice came through.
"Big brother, that monster just ran toward your location. What's the current situation?" the man inquired, his voice filled with suspense and unease.
Alexander barely spared the device a glance before shifting his gaze toward the remaining three snipers still positioned in the distance.
His eyes sharpened, like a high-powered scope, they locked onto the enemies with precision.
Even the farthest sniper, stationed 800 meters away, was clear as day in his vision.
Alexander could still see the farthest sniper's figure, while the other two, positioned about 400 meters away, were in different directions.
Without hesitation, he picked up the walkie-talkie, turned on the call, and spoke in a calm yet chilling tone.
"You have one minute to scram. Your big brother is already dead. And now… it's all your turn."
The moment they heard the unfamiliar voice, their blood ran cold. This wasn't their big brother, it was the one who killed him.
They knew immediately that it had to be that kid. But how? How was it so fast?
In just a single minute, he had already reached Deadeye's position and taken him out. It wasn't an easy path to climb the mountain, yet he had done it effortlessly.
Even knowing how strong he was, the three remaining snipers were left in utter confusion and disbelief. How did he do this?
The three snipers could feel the chilling weight of Alexander's words through the speaker, sending a cold shiver down their spines.
Without hesitation, they began packing up, each one trying to escape as fast as possible.
But it was already too late. With blinding speed, Alexander had already crossed to the other side of the mountain.
There, he caught one of the snipers, a man wearing a hood carrying a guitar case, though it was obvious the case wasn't for a guitar but a cleverly disguised weapon.
Before the man could react, Alexander ended him instantly. No experience and no points was gained from this, his level was too high, and these were just ordinary people.
Wasting no time, he moved again, covering a vast distance in seconds before spotting another sniper. He quickly took him down as well.
Then, heading toward his final target, he arrived at the sniper's last known position, but found nothing he was already gone.
"Hmm, consider this your luck," Alexander muttered as he stood atop the tree branches.
The opponent was nothing more than a small fry, not even a real threat to him. Losing interest, he turned away, leaving the area.
By the time he was gone, the man who had once stood before him was already far away.
As the man emerged from the forest, he spotted a car parked beside the road. Wasting no time, he hurriedly got in, powered up the engine, and sped away in a panic.
"What kind of bad luck is this?! Why are there so many strange things in this world?!" he shouted, his bloodshot eyes filled with fear and disbelief.
The image of Alexander was engraved deep in his mind. His elder brother was already dead. Even his boss had fallen. He had no one left.
And even if he returned, he knew that his other brothers wouldn't be spared either.
Remembering the image of a handsome young man, his heart burned with fury.
"Just you wait! I will have my revenge! This debt will be paid, even if it costs me my life!" he bellowed inside the car as he drove.
But suddenly, something felt off. The car became unnaturally light, and its speed slowed drastically. The road that had been right in front of him now seemed to stretch further and further away.
"What kind of ghostly, paranormal thing is happening this time?!" he cursed loudly.
Trying to calm his mind, he forced himself to focus. He wasn't hallucinating. Lowering the window, he glanced down and his entire body turned ice-cold in terror.
The car was floating. It had already risen several feet above the road.
If it fell, he would be crushed. His face turned pale with fright, his mind racing to make sense of this impossible situation.
Then, as the car reached thirty feet above the ground, gravity took over. It plummeted. A scream tore from his throat as the front of the car slammed downward, its hood bending upon impact, leaving the entire vehicle nearly vertical.
The terrified screams came to an abrupt stop as the front of the car slammed into the ground, crushing it into a twisted wreck of metal.
The driver was no exception, his body was reduced to an unrecognizable mess within the wreckage.
High above in the sky, an old man watched the scene unfold, his expression devoid of emotion. It was none other than Yuno.
"Young Master is still inexperienced. Even a weak opponent, if unafraid of death, can still cause problems, especially for those around him," Yuno muttered to himself.
Despite this observation, he felt no displeasure. His young master was still growing, and still in the process of his learning.
Floating effortlessly in midair, Yuno concealed his presence before turning away. With silent grace, he flew back toward his young master, who was still making his way down the mountains toward the factory.
Meanwhile, Alexander walked with one hand on his chin, deep in thought.
"Hmm… that problem has been dealt with. But there's another issue I haven't paid enough attention to," he murmured to himself.
[Intelligence: 7 {Maximum is 10}]
Looking at his attributes, Alexander's eyes narrowed. Why hasn't this increased after all this time? He had done so many things, yet there was no improvement whatsoever.
"Am I just dumb? So that's why it's not increasing?" Alexander muttered, scratching his forehead in frustration.
"Or maybe I need to use some kind of heavenly treasure… or is there a specific requirement for this?" he wondered aloud.
Suddenly, the system interface appeared before him.
[There is a specific requirement, Host, and it is directly related to you. However, you must discover it on your own. Even if you use heavenly treasures, it will not increase because it is…]
[Just find out for yourself.] – The system stated before abruptly disappearing.
Alexander stood frozen for a moment, his mind blank.
After a brief pause, he sighed and made a decision. He would think about it later when he returned and test different possibilities to uncover the solution.
Since this was important for his future, Alexander knew he couldn't ignore it. He didn't want to remain ignorant, though he wasn't dumb to begin with. His intelligence was already above average.
Even so, he needed to increase it further.
As he walked back and was about to exit the outer range of the mountain, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.
In the distance, he saw a line of cars parked along the road. A group of uniformed men stepped out, armed with guns. The blaring sound of sirens filled the air.
The police had arrived.
Alexander let out a sigh of relief but chose not to reveal himself. He had no way to explain the situation, and getting caught up in questioning would only complicate things.
Instead, he took out his phone and sent a message to his boss, letting her know that he was safe but unable to come out due to the police presence.
As she was being assisted by the officers, the worry on her face disappeared the moment she read his message.
[Valentine: Thank you very much, Alexander.]
[Alexander: No need to thank me. As my boss, how could I, your employee, just stand by and watch?]
Valentine couldn't help but blush and giggle at the same time.
"What a glib tongue you have," she murmured, shaking her head. She didn't reply, too shy to continue the conversation.
Just as she was about to put her phone away, another message popped up.
[Alexander: I'll be leaving now. If the police ask, don't tell them it was me, okay?]
After sending the message, Alexander took off, sprinting down the mountain at an incredible speed. His mission was complete, and now he needed to return home to contemplate a few things.
Meanwhile, he also sent a text to Claire.
The girl, who had been pacing anxiously back and forth in the living room, immediately slumped onto the couch in relief the moment she read his message.
She could not help but thank Alexander a lot, as Alexander just replied humbly. As he arrived back at his place.
Lewis and Andre Bon, seeing their young master return, immediately opened the gate. Alexander nodded at them with a smile.
"Thanks for the hard work, Uncle. Why don't you both rest for the night? You can sleep in the guest house if you'd like," Alexander suggested.
The two were about to decline, but Alexander didn't give them the chance to refuse. Left with no choice, they simply followed his orders and headed toward the guest house.
They had long since memorized the layout of the mansion, having guarded it for many years. Alexander then stepped inside, noticing that the lights were already off.
Ascending the stairs, he walked down the hallway and opened one of the doors.
Other than the little girl sleeping peacefully, Aerolia was nowhere to be seen, making Alexander wonder where she had gone.
He stepped back and slowly closed the door, careful not to wake the child. As he made his way downstairs and entered the kitchen, he spotted Aerolia sitting at the chair closed to the table, completely still.
Her arms rested on the table, her fingers absentmindedly fidgeting from time to time. She was clearly deep in thought.
When she turned her head toward the door, the troubled look in her eyes instantly brightened like that of a child.
"Alex, you're back!" she exclaimed, standing up and walking straight toward him before wrapping her arms tightly around him in a hug.
Her soft, ample chest pressed against him, making Alexander momentarily freeze.
"This feeling… no matter how many times it happens, it's still the best." He cursed himself inwardly for letting such thoughts cross his mind.
But just then, a warm smile appeared on his face, and he hugged her back, this time, with nothing but pure affection, devoid of impure thoughts.
"Hah… why did you even wait for me?" Alexander sighed.
"It's so late at night, yet you're still wide awake. What are you even worrying about?"
He loosened the hug but kept his hands gently on her waist. His gaze turned stern as he looked at her angrily.
Aerolia, seeing his expression up close, panicked. Her innocent, troubled face right now could literally melt any man's heart with just a glance.
"I… I'm so—sorry… I—I… was just worried that… that… something bad wil—" she stammered, but before she could finish, Alexander stopped her.
"Didn't I tell you it wasn't that big of a problem? It's already so late, and yet you're still awake," he said, scrutinizing her with a sharp gaze.
Aerolia flinched, flustered by his firm tone. Seeing how upset he was made her heart ache, as if it had been torn into pieces. Her eyes welled up with unshed tears.
"I… I… I'm sorry…" she whispered, lowering her head as her body trembled.
Her voice was so low it was barely audible, but Alexander still heard it. Hearing her apology, he let out a sigh of relief.
He hadn't wanted to reprimand her. But seeing her wait anxiously, worrying over something he had already assured her wasn't a problem, melted his heart. It showed how much she truly cared about his well-being.
But what about her? If she became like this every time something happened, her health and well-being would suffer as well.
Wanting to lighten the awkward and sad atmosphere between them, Alexander suddenly moved his hand.
Smack!
A fleshy sound echoed through the room.
Aerolia, who had been lowering her head in guilt, yelped in surprise. Her face turned red as she looked up at him, her eyes filled with confusion and embarrassment.
"Why did you do that?!" she asked, her voice flustered, she was not even angry after her buttocks was slapped.
But instead of another reprimand, what Aeloria received was a gentle kiss on the forehead.
"That was your punishment," Alexander whispered.
"Youre not angry anymore," Aeloria glanced at him, she looks like a kid being reprimanded.
"How could I be angry at my cute Aerolia?" he said, his voice warm.
"I was just troubled by your reaction. If this happens every time, and something happens to your health because of it, I'd blame myself. So don't be sad, okay?"
Their faces were close, their breaths mingling. Hearing his words up close, the sadness that had enveloped Aerolia completely faded. Her expression brightened into a radiant smile.
A warmth spread through her body as she felt her heart beat faster. Overwhelmed by the comforting sensation, she leaned her head against his chest, savoring the moment.
It felt so good. Alexander didn't stop her. He simply let her enjoy the moment, gently caressing her hair with a soft smile on his face.
They are literally a pair for each other.
