Chapter 328: Feeling Strong?
She stared down at her blade, feeling it vibrate in her hand as the blade became single-edged and darkened, whilst also having jagged edges that seemed to make it harder to remove when inside flesh.
And unlike the rest of the Regular Series, its blade was still made of metal, but one that seemed to give off a static impression as the hairs on her arm stood up at its presence.
It had a small round handguard, and the handle was wrapped in a comfortable ancient fabric. It also had a small charm hanging at the bottom of the hilt, which seemed to be a small fang.

Lillian stiffened as electricity shot out from her sword, wrapping her body in a thin yellow outline that buzzed in her ears.
She then felt her body become lighter, her mind being less foggy, as her reaction speed increased. It was as though she were injected with a high dose of caffeine that left her restless.
With her newfound speed, she looked towards Thalrek, to find him staring at her with raging flames in his eyes.
"I-Impossible... Impossible..."
She watched as the scrawny man clutched the sides of his head, muttering the words 'Impossible' over and over.
The man fiercely scratched at the side of his neck and the side of his head to the point he even began to draw blood, which merged with the dried blood already staining his face and jawline.
"This... This can't be... Why are you suddenly awakening all of them, so suddenly...?" He then paused before throwing his hands into the air and roaring:
"WHY!?"
Lillian watched as he flashed his hand out to the side, summoning a reflective glass shard into his hand before chucking it at her.
The shard then shattered in the air, transforming into a cloud of glass dust before enlarging and morphing into a large troll that fell out of the sky and crashed into the ground.
Lillian, watching as a cloud of dust shot out from its landing, waved her sword—
Swish!
—And separated it, preventing it from reaching and blinding her.
After doing that, she placed the back of her blade on her shoulder before tilting her head up, staring into the green eye of the troll, who stared down at her with an oppressive aura.
It had dark green skin and had a singular pale horn popping out from the centre of its forehead. It was also 10 metres tall.
It also had sharp tusks growing out of its mouth that were quickly slathered in saliva as it pushed out its tongue and licked them.
Worn around its neck was a skull necklace, which showed its intelligence in creating such a thing.
Around, curving under its crotch and hiding its private areas was a hard and segmented material that looked to be made of the same material that could be found on the nails on its hands, which were cracked and black.
And in its hand was a large and chipped metal sword.
Lillian's nose twitched at the stench of its appearance. It was as if it were taking a bath in a garbage site that was only made up of food that was already beginning to decompose.
"The Third Phase already?"
She remembered that Thalrek would only bring out this monster when the player reached the third phase in the fight.
And the monster before her was called a Vile Brute. And if she recalled its rank, it should be a Dire Wretch.
"Dire..."
The last time she fought a Dire was when she faced a spider that hid inside the dense fog of the Forest of Disruption. It was only brought down with the help of the Beetle, and that was only barely.
"I don't even think I'll need him out here to deal with this fatass..."
She stared at the troll's large stomach before looking into its eye, which seemed to narrow at what she said. It seemed to be able to understand her.
Thalrek, who had crawled back to his throne, shouted towards the troll and ordered it to crush Lillian into a pulp.
Lillian, watching as the troll clutched its sword with both hands before swinging it down on her, hopped on the same spot. The reference version of this chapter is on M*V*LEMPYR.
The world seemed to slow as the impending blade approached her from above.
And right as it was about to crash down into her, a flash of memory shot through Lillian's mind as the runes around her black gauntlet glowed.
She had activated [Rememberance].
She searched through her mind for the fighters she had fought. The ones she was going to copy the fighting style of. And eventually, she came to a decision between two options.
Marionette's rapid fighting style or Kuro's family technique, the 'Heavy Retreating Stream'...
'There's only one answer in this situation...'
She needed to be fast. She needed to capitalise on speed.
And because of that, the memories of the countless times she thought the deadly Assassin overwhelmed her mind.
The muscles in her body tightened before instinctively moving into position.
Her eyes flashed with a killing light as she bent forward and dashed. Gripping the blade of her sword, she flashed its blade forward, clashing with the troll.
CLANG!
Lillian's brain strained as she resisted against the monster's swing, who stared at her with confusion. In any normal scenario, she would've lost in the battle of strength.
However...
She felt as though...
Her body was now using 100% of its dormant strength.
Humans were restricted to a low percentage of what their bodies could use. But, she didn't feel like she was restricted anymore.
She twisted her body to the side, dashing into the mist that still lingered around them and disappearing.
This was due to the Fluttering Prowl, the black cloak.
She ran around the troll, building up speed.
She felt the power behind her legs increase, furthering her speed even more to the point she was crossing several metres in a single dash.
And once she built up enough power behind her legs, she dashed out from the mist, revealing herself to the brute, whose eye glowed a bright green before shooting a beam of light.
Lillian quickly noticed this and, without any fear, leapt towards it. She pulled back her arm and stabbed her sword towards it.
She felt her vision become narrow as her blade pierced through the beam. And soon enough, she reached its eye, piercing into it.
The troll stumbled back, dropping its sword.
Lillian, watching as the monster closed its eye, yanked her sword out, causing green blood to spill before tightening and flexing her muscles again.
And with another dark gleam in her eyes, she slashed at its face and within a split second, several deep wounds appeared on its head and coincidentally... It formed the rough shape of a rose.
SWISH SWISH SWISH
Lillian eventually fell from its face, however, before she could hit the ground, she stabbed her blade into the centre of its chest and dragged her sword down.
The monster fell back, crashing through a stone pillar and shattering it before falling on the ground with the entire torso cut open.
Lillian, landing on the ground, stared at what she had done before looking at her blood-stained sword with a look of awe.
"I... Is this what being strong feels like?"
'Having overpowered items really are the best...'
She then paused before shaking her head.
It wasn't just her sword or gauntlets, but also Marionette's fighting style.
If she remembered correctly, it was named...
