I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess

Chapter 289: Actual Apology?

As they were talking, the Doctor soon arrived back into the room, with two male individuals, both with black hair. After leading them inside, he left.

Lillian stared as Kuro and Jericko approached her bed with a confused look in her eyes. Had she done anything for these two to want to meet her?

Sitting up on her bed and leaning her back against the bedrest, she asked:

"Hello...? How may I help you?"

Jericko waved his hand with a friendly look on his face:

"Don't worry about me. I'm just here because of my friend here."

He looked towards his friend, finding him staring towards a black-haired woman seated on a wooden stool, who was throwing him warning glares that caught his attention.

Lillian also noticed that the two entered into a staring competition. She then watched as Marionette slowly lifted herself onto her feet, walking over to Kuro.

She then stood before the man, a metre apart, their eyes locking onto each other, which seemed to cause the air to tremble with the tension and intensity.

"Kuro Vincent. The son of a nobleman who is a highly skilled master in your family's battle art, called the 'Heavy Retreating Stream'. You were called a prodigy and a talent. And yet you can't even control your blade from making such a mistake that could've costed my Lillian's life?"

Kuro continued to silently stare at her, his face unmoving as he responded:

"You've done your research, it seems."

Nodding in an impressed manner, he added:

"And so did I. You're Marionette Von Roselle, the daughter of a highly established Assassin's family, who has a tight stranglehold when it comes to anything that is related to the underworld. Your match with my friend, Jericko, had left me rather impressed. I was even rather disappointed we won't be having a match."

"Who said anything about not having a match?"

"Is that a threat?" Kuro asked in a low tone as the outline of his body slowly began to radiate a low temperature, as a thin layer of ice began to form.

Marionette's body had also begun to emit a dark and gaseous aura, responding to his cautious state with her.

"Depends what you would like to do next."

"You're being unreasonable."

Marionette's stoic face darkened as her eyes narrowed even more, as a glint flashed through her eyes.

"And your inability to prevent yourself from harming Lillian is even more unreasonable. Could it be that you had intended to nearly kill her in that swift motion of yours?"

"That wasn't my intention. My body kept moving on its own."

"That's a poor excuse..."

The lighting in the room dimmed, becoming swallowed by a subtle darkness that stretched out from a certain Assassin like tentacles. While this was happening, the temperature inside the room dropped by dozens of degrees as a thin layer of ice had now formed on the ground.

Before the situation could grow any more dire, the two were pulled away from each other.

Lillian, coming up from behind the Assassin, wrapped her arms around her waist, pulling her back with a scolding look on her face.

"Alright, that's enough, Mari!"

Kuro, feeling something land on both his shoulders from behind, found that they were hands that belonged to Jericko, who pulled him back as well.

"That's enough, my beloved friend! No need to cause more trouble than we already have!"

Both Marionette and Kuro, seeing that they were being torn away from a fight that almost would've happened, sighed.

The lights regained their power, and the temperature inside the room slowly began to return to the usual room temperature.

Marionette went back to her wooden stool, and Lillian went back to sitting on her bed. She glared scoldingly at the Assassin, who only clicked her tongue before turning her face away out of frustration.

Sighing, Lillian looked towards Kuro, who was staring back at her. She tilted her head, waiting for him to tell her why he was here, before widening her eyes at what she saw next.

Kuro bent his body to exactly 90 degrees, holding it in place before opening his mouth and speaking in a respectful tone:

"Please forgive my actions today, Miss Arius. I meant no harm in what I was trying to accomplish. I beg for your forgiveness and your understanding."

Jericko, widening his eyes at what his friend was doing, looked around frantically before bowing as well. He then said in an awkward but equally respectful tone:

"Please forgive him. He truly means it."

Marionette, who still had her face turned away, slowly looked towards them, her eyes softening as she felt their words were honest and their actions genuine.

Glancing towards Lillian, she nodded, giving her the signal that they were speaking the truth.

However, it wasn't needed, although appreciated, Lillian had known that their actions were genuine. It was just in Kuro's character to do something like this.

He was a noble swordsman who would fight for justice in the future.

Lillian smiled warmly, feeling that she was truly playing a big part in the world.

She waved her hand dismissively.

"It's alright! I've been hit with worse, don't worry!"

She then began to rant off about how she fought a Beetle that almost crushed all her bones. She had even revealed how she lost her arm in a fight with a Rank C monster and came out on top.

Kuro and Jericko, who already had their back straightened, listened keenly to her achievements and even revealed some of their exploits as well.

Marionette rarely joined in on the conversation, only ever speaking up whenever Lillian asked. However, she was much less aggressive towards Kuro now.

And soon enough... The two men left, but only after leaving behind a bouquet of flowers, praying for her health in the future.

Lillian, watching as the two left, looked at the flower in her hands with interest.

"Hm. They really didn't have to buy me these... Can't say I mind, though! First ever time I was given one—"

"It's your first time?"

Marionette stared at her with her arms crossed, her face twitching slightly at what she heard.

Lillian nodded, unaware of what the woman was feeling about her words.

"Uh, huh. Why?" She raised an eyebrow, "You judging me?"

Marionette slowly shook her head before letting out an exasperated sigh.

"Your first should've gone to me..."

"... You're being dirty, Mari..."
