Chapter 76: Sky High
He then looked around to see if the portal was still there, and to his delight, it was still there right above him.
He then went to his system's interface and read the description of the mining bot. It said, 'Leave in an ore filled mine and this bot will work ten times faster than a normal miner.'
Harry grinned as he read the description. Ten times faster? He knew that he was going to get rich now. He clicked on the use option, at which a human sized robot with pickaxes for hands appeared in front if him.
It then turned it's head a few times and looked at the ores that were pitch black with a purplish tinge and then said in a robotic voice, "Ore identified."
It then went to the ores and started smashing them with its arms... or should he call them pickaxes...?
Three hours passed, and a whole pile of shiny purple gems were in front of Harry. Pluto looked at the gems with unbridled affection, whereas Harry on the other hand couldn't wait to sell them. He looked at Pluto and asked, "How much do you estimate all these cursed gems measure?"
"They'd easily be three megaderins.", said Pluto.
"So around one and a half kilogram. Then taking that five grams are 50 gold coins, that'd mean this is worth 15,000 gold coins?!", Harry felt like he would faint at this astronomical amount. Even Lyria's treasury at it's peak only had 12,000 gold coins!
Pluto grinned in an evil manner and said, "It's time to loot the treasury of all the kingdoms! Let's first head to the largest human kingdom, who are the only ones who have cursed ore mines, or so they think. So, they'd be dying to buy this off your hands, so that you don't sell this to anyone else."
Harry frowned at this and said, "I'll have to go in a disguise and with a false identity though... Can't risk them knowing who I am."
Pluto nodded and then said, "Let's go to Eryeth first. I heard that there are great armor makers in it's capital. We can request for custom made armor, from cursed ore."
Harry nearly fainted as he said, "Won't the armor maker see us and know that we have cursed ore then?!"
Pluto replied to that by saying, "Yup, the armor maker will see us, won't he? What about this, we'll ask him to make custom made armor with the strongest metal he has, along with a mask?"
Harry nodded at this and then raised a critical doubt. "How do we carry all these gems back up?"
Pluto facepalmed and said, "You are the worst and clumsisest system user I've ever seen!"
Harry pouted at this statement of Pluto's and said, "Oye! This worst system user is the one who saved you from being a battery for the rest of your life!"
Pluto smiled helplessly and said, "Check the menu, there'll be a store option. You can store upto 50 items in it, discluding system granted items and procedures."
Harry, with detailed instructions from Pluto, successfully stored the cursed gems in his inventory, and then jumped up and grabbed the hedge of the portal.
He then pushed himself up through the portal, and before he knew it, he was standing on the plains. He looked at the portal, and before he could even think about anything, Pluto immediately said, "Click the 'close' option given on your portal, which will make the portal camouflage after closing with the plains, so that only you can access it."
Harry did as he said, and the portal disappeared. But he wasn't that surprised, because he expected this when Pluto said that the portal would camouflage.
He then went back to the village and packed up the necessities required for his journey. He was sure that no one would notice his absence, as no one even approached him anyway.
A month passed by the time Harry finally reached Eryeth.
This month was exhausting for him. He travelled through merchant's carts or sprinted, and hence he somehow covered this journey in a month, when it should've take two to three months. He only slept for three hours in nights, and ate while running.
His appearance now was more like a tribal, as he was caked in dust.
The first thing he did when he reached the capital of Eryeth was to book a room in a nice but costly inn, take a hot bath, and then fall into his bed and sleep like a log. Pluto didn't disturb him, as he truly deserved a nice long sleep.
He slept all through the evening, night, the next morning, and finally woke up the next evening, when his tummy rumbled, because he didn't eat a bite from yesterday evening.
He went to the innkeeper, got his lunch, and then gobbled it up completely.
After his body finally felt completely relaxed, he went to the nearby blacksmith while covering his face with a cloth.
The blacksmith was moulding a metal, when he went to him and said, "How much does making an armor with the strongest metal you have cost?"
The blacksmith was startled upon hearing the sudden question, but he answered it subconsciously anyway. "4 gold coins, you can demand what parts you want."
Harry frowned. He only had 3 gold coins with him right now. He sighed and said, "I only have 3."
"You'll have to adjust on the material then. I'll make it with steel.", said the blacksmith.
Harry thought about it and felt it was not that bad. Steel was quite strong too, and he was facing only humans anyway. He said, "Okay. Make a face cover too. I want it to be pitch black, like the night sky."
The blacksmith laughed and said, "Unless you have cursed stone, I can't change the color of armor."
Harry smiled helplessly and said, "Try your best. I'll give you more money if you an manage to do it."
